Amethyst's pov

"Ugh! Why are we doing this Pearl?" Pearl sighed.

"Opal gave us clear directions. We absolutely must check on Ruby and Sapphire's well being." Peri sighed.

"Amethyst, you clearly heard what Opal said. If we didn't check on Ruby and Sapphire, we'd have to help her boost attendance to the Audio-Video club, and I did not have mother drive me to the Baroque household to spend my Saturday making signs." I sighed again.

"I get it. But why'd we have to walk?"

"My mother's at work, Sugilite's car still won't start, and Sugilite's using Opal's car to purchase more supplies." Pearl explained, annoyed. "And anyhow, we're here." She turned and started walking up the driveway, knocking the door.

"Hold on!" Ruby yelled from inside. She opened up the door. "H-hey Pearl." She looked at me. "Oh. You're here."

"Hey, I didn't wanna come either!" I snapped.

"Amethyst!" Pearl said, hitting my arm softly. "Ahem, Opal sent us over here just to check in on you guys? I know it must be difficult since Sapphire's mother kicked her out." Ruby nodded.

"It's been pretty tough. You guys wanna come in?" She opened the door the rest of the way and we stepped inside. "What's Opal up to? Sardonyx said it was top secret when she left with Mom." Pearl sighed, annoyed.

"Yesterday Headmistress Diamond shut down the Audio-Video club. So Opal arranged a deal to save it if she could get at least fifteen members, some fundraising, and a staff member to supervise in two weeks." Ruby gasped.

"That's pretty hard though. She's gonna have to work all this week after school. Don't you guys always use the week before Halloween to finish your costumes and stuff?" She asked, confusing me.

I'd always just assumed these guys never saw each other or talked or anything. I guess they really were like sisters.

"Yes, Halloween is an important holiday for us. But I'm sure Opal can figure it out!" Peridot cleared her throat.

"Ahem? Weren't we here for a reason?"

"Oh yeah! Sapphy's in the living room." Ruby started walking into the other room and we followed her.

"Hello everyone." Sapphire said calmly. She looked at me. "Amethyst. I'm surprised you came." I rubbed my arm. I knew what I had to do.

"I'm sorry. For saying that. It wasn't fair of me to say something that hurt you just because I felt a little hurt. If there's anything I can do to help, I-"

"Shh, you're fine, Amethyst." Sapphire smiled. "That's all I needed to hear. Unfortunately, I don't think I can ever change my mother's mind, however."

"Forgive me for interrupting," Peridot said. "But have you attempted to contact your aunt? I am aware that she and your mother have been feuding, but she may be able to assist you."

"Who's her aunt?" I whispered to Pearl.

"Lapis's mother." Sapphire shook her head.

"I don't believe my aunt will do anything but make matters worse. Lapis gas clearly shown her disapproval if my choices..."

"Well fuck Lapis!" I laughed as Pearl stared in shock.

"Language, Peridot!"

"I'm sorry Pearl, but it's true. Lapis is a selfish brat with no regards for anyone else's feelings! Sapphire, I implore you, talk to your aunt." Sapphire nodded.

"Okay." Ruby Sat down next to her and hugged her.

"We can do this babe."
