Fifty Four- A club worth keeping

Pearl's pov

The room in which the Audio Video club held their meetings was stuffy. Many students had lodged themselves into the room for the first ever "Tech Night", during which the members of the club would give short presentations and lessons on the many functions of their club.

"Ugh, the window still won't open!" Amethyst lamented, sitting on top of a cabinet.

"Amethyst, you really shouldn't be sitting there." I cautioned. "Why don't we go see what lessons are being held?" Opal stood in the doorway to the small office in the back where the news was broadcasted talking to Alexandrite. Together, the two had helped to organize the event, which would hopefully occurs weekly on Thursdays if the club continued.

"Because none of them will be fun." Peridot returned from a short lesson with a grin on her face.

"Amethyst! I have participated in a short less in on coding. With this new found knowledge, I can do anything!" The short girl jumped in the air with joy. "Why didn't we do this sooner?"

"Because I forced you guys to go." Opal said with a smirk, joining the three of us. "Amethyst, get down before you break a camera." Amethyst stuck her tongue out, but complied with the request.

"Opal, I sincerely believe you may have saved the club!"

"I'll be the judge of that." Headmistress Diamond, with Yellen in tow, entered the room swiftly with a presence that silenced everyone.

"Headmistress Diamond, so glad you could make it!" Opal greeted cheerfully, though I could tell she was tense.

""I don't allow anyone in this building unless I am present, I make it my business to know exactly what occurs within these walls." Opal gulped. "The signatures?" The club requires at least fifteen members, a signup sheet had been passed around for people to sign. By the time it had reached our group, it already had plenty of signatures.

"Here you go." Opal said, producing the sheet. The Headmistress scanned the sheet with eyes like a hawk, pausing at presumably Peridot's name.

"It would appear you have more than enough signatures." She declared, igniting a roaring applause which she quickly silenced. "However, it would appear you have failed to recruit a teacher to supervise."

"Actually, she has." From the back corner of the room, Mrs. Agate, my History teacher, stepped forward. At her side stood her daughter, Blue Lace, a member of the club if I was correct.  The Headmistress growled quietly.

"In that case, it's official. The AV club stays." Swiftly she turned and left, Yellen rushing after her. Everyone cheered in celebration, and Opal breathed a sigh of relief.

"We did it!" Somebody exclaimed. Opal hugged Alexandrite and finally relaxed.

I know it sounds cheesy, but I felt like a proud mother.

(A/N) Sorry it's a little short guys! I promise I'll get some more out next week!

Random fact of the day: I have a list of story arcs for when I want to introduce some new conflicts.
