Chapter 7

"Everyone get inside the dome!" Brooke shouted, guiding the villagers to a dome of rushing wind. "The wind will keep you safe from any attacks!"

"Thank you miss." A woman said, carrying two children in her arms.

Brooke gave her a warm smile, "I'm only doing my duty." She reached a hand towards the dome and the wind parted, allowing the woman and other villagers inside before closing up behind them.

"That looks to be the last of them. There's no more people hiding in the village, I looked in every nook and cranny." Aarona called out as she walked up to Brooke. Just by looking at the expression on her face it was obvious Aarona wanted in on the fighting. Chuckling slightly, Brooke nodded.

"Well then, shall we help the others?"

Aarona grinned, "Let's do this!" She shouted, turning around and running in the direction of a giant explosion. Brooke followed after her, though when they arrived at the battle scene one of the Holy Knights- Guila- was pointing her lance towards King, who was hovering in the air with his spear behind him. At the tip of the lance in the Guila's hand a fireball had appeared and just as Guilawas about to detonate it, it was sent flying towards Aarona, who was holding her hand out towards it.

"Look out!" King shouted as he watched, only to have a look of confusion on his face as nothing happened when it made contact with Aarona's hand.

"This is a pretty good explosion! But it's made way too sloppily. I bet I can do much better." Aarona said, patting the top of it with her hand, causing the ball to swell in size and burn brighter.

"W-What did you do?" Guila asked.

"I just gave it a little boost. Here, why don't you try it out?" Aarona said, snapping her fingers and sending the explosion straight towards Guila. With the sheer size and speed of it, the holy knight wasn't able to dodge and was hit head on, detonating a giant explosion that shook the ground. "See! That's a proper explosion- hm?" Aarona said, looking towards where the Holy Knight was and seeing she was passed out on the ground, next to the other Holy Knight that King had taken down himself. "There's no way she was that weak! That's barely considered a fight!"

"Calm down, Aarona. I'm sure the fight's not over just yet." Brooke said, if her senses were correct than Ban, King, and Diane's power levels were starting to fade, which was just a bit concerning, and by the looks of it King felt the same drop in power as well.

"What seems to be the trouble? You're looking a bit peaked, you three." Guila said, and Brooke looked over towards her to see that both her and the other Holy Knight had pushed themselves up into a standing position.

"What have you done to the Captain and Diane? And I guess Ban." King asked, looking back at the two. When he got no response he let out a short sigh, "Fine, I'll check on them myself. And just so we're clear, if you two get in my way again, I'll--"

Before any of them could make a move, Guila sent multiple explosions towards King, only to have them get pulled back by Aarona.

"Did you already forget that your explosions aren't going to work?" Aarona asked.

"These explosions are different." Guila said, a grin appearing on her face, "These self-detonate." As soon as she said that the explosion above Aarona detonated, leaving a large cloud of smoke to surround her. Guila smiled and a look of satisfaction appeared on her face. "That should keep her down for a while."

"Pft, you expect a puny explosion like that to keep me down? I told you before that your explosions are sloppily made. Just because you had made a lot more of them doesn't mean they'll actually hurt me." Aarona said, stepping out of the smoke with no trace of injury. "Holy Knights nowadays just don't listen like they used to." She looked up towards King, who had just fended off an attack from the other Holy Knight.

"You should really let people finish when they're talking." King said, having flown higher to dodge the attack. "If you get in my way again I'll put you down." He stretched his hand out and the ground started to shift and crack as a giant sunflower sprouted high into the sky. "Spirit Spear Chastiefol, fourth configuration! Sunflower! I'll admit you two are fairly powerful. Keep training for another century and you'll be well on your way."

"Another century, I'd say a millennia." Aarona called out.

Brooke chuckled and watched as various beams of light shot out of the sunflower and sped straight towards the Holy Knights. Though just after the attack hit, the sunflower was suddenly chopped in half, and a new power source rose up causing Brooke to look over into the smoke to try to see who the newcomer could be.

"Oh my! Old Fart is most perturbed by his finishing move being disrupted!" A familair high pitched voice announced, and as the smoke cleared Brooke saw the familiar red of the Fighting festival announcer in the same spot the two Holy Knights had just been. "Did his battle in the Fighting Festival give him indigestion? Holy Knights Guila and Jericho have perished in the face of petulan Old Fart's ferocious attack! Actually that wouldn't do at all!" Suddenly he jumped into the air and spun, the red fabric that was covering his body lengthening before dropping both Holy Knights to the ground. "Today's rescuer has been your friendly referee, Love helm! Who's true identity is-" He spun around and disappeared before reappearing beside King in a totally different form- a man in full armor.

"It can't be! You're-- Helbram!" King exclaimed in terror.

"Should we know this guy?" Aarona asked.

"I can only assume he's a powerful Holy Knight, I mean with that type of power level that's the only explanation." Brooke said with a shrug.

"Sir Helbram, we will assist!" A voice suddenly shouted out and Brooke and Aarona looked to see that the two Holy Knights were ow standing, looking to be mostly uninjured.

"No, no. I can handle everything up here. Why don't you two focus on retrieving what we came here for."

"Yes sir!" The two woman said before disappearing off into the distance.

"So, are we going to follow them or...?" Aarona said.

Brooke looked up at King then nodded, "Let's go. I believe King can handle this guy."

With that, the two of them followed after the two Holy Knights, Aarona running across the ground and Brooke using air currents to propel herself through the air. Eventually they arrived on the outskirts of the town, where Ban, Meliodas, Elizabeth, and Hawk were, the four of them joined by Griamore and a short haired woman.

"Man, this is just sad to see." Aarona said, looking around at the scene in front of her. Elizabeth was trapped in some kind of purple spear and Ban had been pushed face first into the ground by Jericho. It seemed as if Hawk had tried to attack him but going off of the burnt pork smell and the slightly charred appearance he had gotten hit by one of Guila's explosions.

"So, you decided to follow us, then." Guila said.

"Well, fighting a three on one battle isn't really fun, especially when your opponent won't put up much of a fight against you." Aarona said.

Guila gritted her teeth as an annoyed expression appeared on her face. "You really have some nerve to insult Holy Knight Helbram like that."

"You call it nerve, I call it honesty. Not much of a difference really."

"Guila, it's not worth it. We need to retrieve the princess and head back to the castle." Jericho said. "Griamore, release your spell."

Griamore looked at her then nodded, the purple spear that Elizabeth was trapped inside disappearing and dropping the silver-haired princess to the ground. Brooke watched as Guila walked up to the girl and knelt down, offering her hand only for it to be pushed away.

"Not so fast." The short haired girl said keeling between Elizabeth and Guila. "I appreciate your assistance but I'll be the one to bring Ellie back. Your... Hendrickson's objectives are just Meliodas and that sword, right?"

At that Guila stood up and pointed her lance at the both of them, "Be a good girl and hand over Princess Elizabeth. If you don't-" Suddenly the two of them were surrounded in the same purple shell that Elizabeth had been trapped in, looking over towards Griamore, Brooke saw that he had activated his magic.

"I won't allow you to address Princess Veronica in such a manner!" Griamore exclaimed.

"Nicely done!" the short haired girl, Veronica, exclaimed, then the expression on her face grew serious, "I don't know what you're planning, but it looks like Hendrickson and the rest of you need to be court-martialed!" Behind her, Elizabeth tightened her grip around Meliodas' sword and a type of jewel that radiated with Meliodas's power and not even a second later she started running away.

"Wait Ellie! Ellie!" Veronica shouted out taking off after Elizabeth.

"Would you like us to help you capture the princess?" Guila asked from inside the sphere.

"Save your concern. I suggest you worry about your own fate." Griamore said.

"That's a shame. Well, he did order us to bring her back, but her corpse would be just as acceptable if need be."

Brooke glanced at Aarona and the two of them sprung into action, following after the two. In front of her Brooke saw a bright light appear from under Elizabeth's foot. Veronica saw this too and jumped forwards, pushing Elizabeth out of the way just as an explosion was set off. From behind Brooke and Aarona Griamore was running towards them, fear radiating off of him.

"Veronica!" Elizabeth shouted out in terror.

Brooke let out a sigh of relief, "That was a close one." She said, placing her hands on her hips.

"What do you mean? Princess Veronica could be injured!" Griamore said, "Are you saying that you're happy she has been injured?"

"Hm? Oh no, not at all. We might technically be on different sides but I'm not going to go ahead and let someone get blown to bits." Brooke said, motioning in the direction the explosion had been set off. The smoke had slowly started to clear and it revealed both Veronica and Elizabeth encased in two separate spheres of air, both of them completely uninjured.

"Wha- what happened?!" Veronica shouted, hitting the sphere with her fist. "What kind of magic is this?"

"It's a simple spell that comes in handy in many situations. A shell made of air that repels any and all danger keeping those inside safe and sound."

"Why did you push me out of the way, Veronica?" Elizabeth shouted from her own Air Sphere. "You could of gotten hurt! Or even worse-"

"I was just doing what a big sister should be doing." Veronica said.

"How disappointing." A voice said from behind Brooke and Aarona and the two of them looked over their shoulders to see that Guila and Jericho had managed to get out of their air sphere. "I truly thought that would work out in my favor. Though I guess it did result in freeing me and my partner here as Griamore lost his composure for a second."

"It was a smart move to plant a ring of mines all around town." Jericho said.

"You filthy swines. You attacked the princesses!" Griamore shouted turning to look over his shoulder just as Guila detonated an explosion beside him, sending him flying.

"Was that wise? He's the son of one of the grand masters." Jericho said.

"We were attacked by the Seven Deadly Sins, and he and Veronica met an untimely end. A plausible enough story." Guila said.

"You're one scary woman." Jericho said.

Brooke watched as Guila started to walk towards the group, her gaze on Brooke, "I suggest you drop that little spell of yours before I include you in the death toll."

"Aw man, threatening me with death? It's been a few weeks since I've been in a situation like this one. The death threats shouldn't be due for another week for me." Brooke said, letting out a chuckle and placing a hand on the back of her neck.

"You're rather casual for someone who's about to meet their end."

"Meet my end? If I could die I would of met my end a millennia ago. You can try all you want but whatever damage you inflict upon me won't really count for much."

Guila gritted her teeth, "Over-confident pests like you really annoy me."

"I think my confidence is perfectly normal for someone of my strength."

A look of both anger and annoyance appeared on Guila's face and she pointed her lance towards Brooke, an explosion appearing at the tip before speeding towards her. Though just before it hit her Aarona jumped forwards and practically caught it in her hands, clenching her fists and making it disappear.

"Don't be so single sided in a fight! That could be your downfall one day!" Aarona shouted. "Also, you should pay more attention to your surroundings."

"What are you talking about, there's nothing else around-" She cut herself off with a scream as she was suddenly sent flying.
