24 - Hoseok
"Yeah. I'll see you soon, Jungkook ah. Make sure you get the piece done soon. I'm not rushing you. I'm just rushing you. Yes I know I'm just repeating myself. Okay bye."
Hoseok ended the call and sighed as he sat down at the dining table. His tie seemed too tight so he loosened it up, and undid the first two buttons of his crisp white shirt.
"Are you seducing me?"
"Am I?" Hoseok asked as he eyed the man lying on his couch.
The man got up and stood closer, leaning in to capture Hoseok's lips. It was a little bit more than a peck, but less than a passionate kiss.
Hoseok sighed against the man's lips, wanting more but he knew he shouldn't.
No.
He couldn't.
He loved the man too much to be used as a substitute.
"Yoongi... How long are you going to be like this?"
Yoongi sniffed in and went back to the couch - Hoseok's couch to be exact. The one he crashed on for more than a month now.
"I thought you love me. Can't I just stay here?"
"Don't use my feelings for you for your own convenience."
Yoongi's eyes were still on the screen but Hoseok knew he wasn't even watching whatever was on it.
"He's out you know."
"Hmm?"
"Jimin."
Yoongi's eyes darted quickly to Hoseok before gluing them back to the TV.
"He's with Jin now. You should go and see him."
"And destroy his life again? No thanks."
"You know what Yoongi," Hoseok left the table to sit in front of Yoongi, blocking Yoongi's view of the TV which the man scowled but Hoseok was determined to make this poor man understand.
"When I first met you, I thought you were cold, and placid. But you were beautiful, before you became all bones like now." Hosoek gestured towards the older man's small body, which seemed to have lost even more weight for the past week.
"You were all distant to anyone but Jimin. That boy would say he felt like eating ice cream at two freaking o'clock in the mornig and you'd drive him to get some. He'd tell you to pick him up from wherever and whenever, and not even once you'd complain."
Yoongi's eyes were now focusing on one spot on the carpet.
"Jimin would point at something and you'd buy it for him, no questions asked. That was the man I fell in love with. I know what you do for a living. I've always known that.
I also knew it was you who made Jimin threatened me with the videos but I blamed Jimin," Hoseok eyed Yoongi for his reaction before he continued, "because I love you and Jimin was weaker."
"Jiminie's not weak."
Hands up to let go of the point, Hoseok smiled mentally. "But I also know you do it because it makes good money — money you'd spend on Jimin.
"One thing that sucks about being in love is you can't see your own eyes when you look at that person. And everytime yours looked at Jimin, it was as if he was a god, so much so, you had to do those things to him, so he'd be at your commoner's level.
Were you that afraid he'd see you for who you are and leave?"
Hoseok wanted to stop, seeing how Yoongi was now silently crying. His heart broke. This was the man he loved, and he was describing how in love this man was with another.
But he knew better. Yoongi had to be snapped into reality.
"Yoongi," Hoseok reached for his hand. "You need to start over. But you need to love him and not hurt him. Don't tell him you're not enough. Don't tell him he's not enough."
Hoseok watched as Yoongi looked up at the ceiling before draping his arm over his red eyes.
"And if you can't do all that," Hoseok ran his fingers through Yoongi's lifeless grey hair, "at least say you're sorry."
Hoseok kissed Yoongi's forehead before retreating to his own room, leaving the man with shaking shoulders to let his own tears go.
