Chapter Two - No Going Back

Hours after the Cyclonian raid on Terra Gale, the Storm Hawks were riding the Condor to the Terra in response to a distress signal.

Aerrow: Stork! How far are we from Terra Gale?

Stork: Coming close now.

But as Stork said that, all the Storm Hawks saw the destruction left behind by the Cyclonians. Buildings were burned and bodies were scattered.

Finn: Looks like the Cyclonians did a number on this place!

Piper: What's our next move?

Aerrow: We're going down there! If there's people still down there, they'll need our help! Stork, keep the Condor ready.

Stork: We're doomed.

The rest of the Storm Hawks exited the Condor and began exploring the Terra. As they do, they quickly notice the bodies of the Rebel Ducks outnumbering the Cyclonian bodies. Eventually, they reach the smoking ruins of Dove's home.

Piper: Do you think Dove......

Junko: Guys! Look!

The rest of the Storm Hawks turn to see Wren's grave. Upon seeing this, feelings of shock and grief began to show in the young Sky Knights. They knew Wren as an eccentric old man who was a fighter. Seeing his grave caught them off guard.

Piper: I.....I can't believe it......

Aerrow: He deserved better. The Cyclonians have a lot to answer for!

But as Aerrow said that, the Sky Knights quickly notice something. Dove was no where to be seen among the bodies.

Piper: Dove must've gotten out!

Finn: What makes you say that Piper?

Piper: Besides the fact that Dove is no where to be seen, the fact that her grandfather is buried.

Aerrow: She's right. Cyclonians wouldn't bury Wren. They'd leave him out the same with the rest of the Rebel Ducks.

Junko: But where did she go?

Aerrow: Don't know. But either way, we have to find her!

As Aerrow said that, the Storm Hawks vowed to find Dove and save her wherever she is. Meanwhile, Stain takes Dove to his hideout on Terra Neverlandis. When they get to Terra Neverlandis, she sees an abandoned fortress. Stain leads her inside.

Dove: What is this place?

Stain: Long ago, this place was the sight of a great battle between the Cyclonians and the Storm Hawks. Lightning Strike himself led the assault to the Cyclonian Horde. He emerged victorious, claiming many Cyclonians. That was his last battle before Lightning Strike led the charge on Cyclonia. Before he was betrayed by the Dark Ace.

Hearing Dark Ace's name brought great rage to Dove. The rage was seen by Stain.

Dove: When do we kill him?

Stain: In time, Dark Ace will meet his just end. But you cannot lose yourself in vengeance. To be better than the Cyclonians, you must put aside all forms of vanity, anything that says you want something for yourself! To be better than them, you must be pure! You have to believe that you are nothing and the world is the only thing that matters!

Dove took Stain's words to heart, despite the feeling of vengeance in her heart. She truly believed in Stain's words.

Dove: I'm.....I'm sorry.

Stain: Don't be. You're young and full of anger. But in time, you will become a true soldier against the Cyclonians! But this path is not for the weak. I offer you a chance to turn back. Go back to your home on Terra Gale. Once you join my crusade, there's no going back.

Dove thought about his words. She had an opportunity to turn back. The path she was currently set on would be a path on death and war. But Dove had only one answer.

Dove: What home do I have? The Cyclonians took everything from me. They destroyed my home, killed the only family I had left. You're the only one who can help me fight the Cyclonians!

Stain smiled at Dove's conviction. He truly saw himself in her. Those of weaker wills would've left without hesitation. But Dove remained without hesitation.

Stain: Good. You show true conviction. We shall begin your training. But first things first, lose the pots and pans.

Dove took a moment to look at her armor made up of pots and pans.

Dove: But why? This was how I fought! How my Grandpapa fought!

Stain: Armor made of pots and pans are impractical against Crystal weapons. I understand your desire to honor your grandfather's memory, but that is no way to go about it. If you came up against a Talon, their Crystal Blades would cut through your armor like butter.

Dove: Then what do you suggest?

Stain: Follow me.

Stain then leads Dove to the armory of the fortress where she sees a display case. It was a set of armor similar to his. She looked at the armor in awe.

Stain: This will be your armor as you fight the Cyclonians. As for your pots and pans, you can put them in a display. The life you led before is no more. Let this be the start of a new life dedicated to wiping the Cyclonians off the face of Atmos!

Dove: I will not fail you!

As Stain took Dove in as his apprentice, Dove mentally prepared herself for the harsh training that lay ahead. Despite this, Dove knew full well that there was no going back. She had no choice but to endure the harsh training to assist Stain in his crusade against the Cyclonians. She willingly set herself on a path that will offer no peace, but she didn't care. She crossed the point of no return. There was no going back.
