Author's Note

-Although this is not the first time that I have wanted to introduce an anti-heroic protagonist, I had never really thought that it was the right moment, until now. Unlike "Craven", I had thought about creating this morally ambiguous individual. Craven's very ignorance can be attributed to her child-like innocence, whilst the character of Irene is fully committed to the art of self-destruction.

In initial drafts of my previous work, Detective Craven was much more sinister, in nature, having intentionally killed Rutherford, in order to escape the budding facility. The story structure itself was inspired by one of the greatest films in recent memory: Christopher Nolan's "Memento."

The project was heading towards its utmost completion, and yet I never went down into the publishing. Unfortunately, I had been suffering from progressive bouts of depression.

It was more than just your average writer's block. Because it went way beyond such a prospect. It caused me to have a lack of inspiration for such a long time. But something just kept me going. I wanted to take a chance. A hit-or-miss ordeal. I desired to thrive, and to rise up from the very depths of hell. And so, this new tale is a personal gift, from me to you. Thanks, for welcoming me back...

-Sincerely,
Max Gómez.
