Prologue
It was a dark and misty night. Too dark and misty if you asked LilyStream.
Maybe i'm just being paranoid
Carrying an egg around in a dark place would probably make you paranoid. Her feathery wings were a bit too tired to fly. And being this far away from the palace... Yea, maybe she should head back.
Rustle Rustle.
Rustle Rustle Rustle.
LilyStream looked behind her. A bush was shaking violently. She jumped back and closed her eyes, clutching her egg close. Her necklace rattled as she slowly turned her head. She was ready for the worst, ready for a Darkwing to rush out. Maybe even killing her before she got the chance to see her dragonet born.
Instead, out ran 10 bunnies. LilyStream opened her eyes, and saw the harmless creatures. She laughed at herself. They were only bunnies. Harmless bunnies. She was being paranoid. She was about to take off, until she realized something. Most rabbits aren't together. They usually go solo in these parts. Why were they bunched up?
Something must've scared them. But what?
Suddenly 4 bushes started to rustle for a moment, and then out jumped 4 Darkwing soldiers. She was surrounded, each Darkwing blocking her. LilyStream held her egg close. She wasn't about to give her egg up to these horrible dragons. Nor would she die without knowing if her egg was safe
"So you're still alive, LilyStream" Chuckled a deep voice. One that LilyStream recognized completely.
DeathWalker studied the look on her face. "Ah, so you still remember me?"
"Ah, so you still have the smug look on your face?" LilyStream mocked, but DeadWalker showed no anger in his face. The moonlight shown on DeadWalker's scales, showing scars. Maybe from the battles he's lead in the past year. His lip was curved up, looking deformed. And some of his front talons were missing.
"Laugh all you want," DeathWalker said. "But we'll have to take that egg of yours."
Just a moment after DeathWalker said that, 4 dragons pinned LilyStream down. She wriggled and squirmed, but her egg was easily pried from her talons. Her beautiful, light blue and silver egg. She was furious.
"Give it BACK!!!" She roared, trying to call the spirits from the forests. They didn't answer.
"I'll be keeping this," DeathWalker said. "Perhaps I should-"
He was cut off by a SpiritWing tumbling into him. LilyStream saw that the Spiritwing had a few spirits from beyond following him, ready for orders. All 4 Darkwings retreated, heading toward the forests. More spirits followed the Darkwings quickly. Once they were all in the forests, LilyStream heard a battle start, Darkwings yelling orders and also dying.
While the Darkwings were distracted, LilyStream came to pick up her egg. It was in a mud puddle, brown and dirty.
DeathWalker will pay, wherever he is
She gingerly picked it up and went to thank the SpiritWing who had saved her and her egg. It had been WaterFall, her mate, who came to rescue her.
"WaterFall, i'm so glad you were there."
"I noticed you weren't at the Palace, so I came to look for you."
LilyStream smiled. This moment was perfect. LilyStream brushed her wing with WaterFall. They stayed there for a moment, and then DeathWalker appeared from the shadows, jumping onto him. Whitish-silver and blackish-gray scales clashed, but LilyStream could see easily what was happening.
They fought for their lives, and LilyStream couldn't help. It was as if some invisible chains were pulling her back. She saw DeathWalker's talons in the air, coming to slit Watefall's throat.
"Waterfall!!" She cried, but it was too late. She saw her mate, the love of her life, in a pool of blood, dead. Blood spewing from the cut in his throat. Her eyes became misty, almost about to cry. DeathWalker took something away from her.
The horrible DarkWing swiftly jumped on her and stabbed his talons into her back, blood spurted out from the wound. (Sorry! It's Bloody!)
LilyStream shrieked, dropping her egg. She fell onto her back, belly exposed. DeathWalker instantly saw his opportunity and slashed at her belly, but she wasn't yet dead. LilyStream screamed, and kicked her hind-legs as hard as she could, knocking the wind out of DeathWalker.
He fell back, dizzy. LilyStream acted fast and avenged WaterFall, killing DeathWalker. With a swift push, he was on his back, so LilyStream slit his throat. She slowly came off of the dead body, feeling a bitter-sweet moment. She sadly flicked her tail, remembering how WaterFall died, his throat slit.
His death replayed in her mind, but she picked up her egg again, taking it up to the only place safe.
The Palace
_______(At The Palace)
LilyStream placed her egg in the Royal Hatchery. She was sure it wouldn't be stolen here. She felt a sudden pain in her back, and cringed. The wound from DeathWalker would probably hurt for days. Her other cuts had been treated by the healers, and cleansed in the river.
"WindSong?" LilyStream called. Her loyal guard came rushing into the room. WindSong had nice light blue and silver scales, a lot like LilyStream's.
"Yes, your majesty?"
"Watch my egg, please," LilyStream said. "I don't want any half-witted DarkWings stealing my egg."
"I understand," WindSong politely bowed, heading over to the egg.
LilyStream went to her bedroom, and slept, exhausted with the day she's had. She flopped onto the bed, wondering where the extra DarkWings were.
______(Time Skip: Brought to you by Snowy's Imagination)
"You majesty," A voice quietly said, nudging her.
"Hm...?" LilyStream said sleepily.
"Your majesty!"
"Yes...?"
"We need you outside!!!" The voice seemed frustrated now.
"Why?"
"The DarkWings have declared war on us!" LilyStream's eyes immediately shot open. It was BirdsEye who summoned her.
She followed him until she past the hatchery. She halt and looked at the room, but BirdsEye didn't notice. She ran in, quickly carrying her baby. LilyStream noticed WindSong wasn't here, maybe eating or helping in the battle.
She picked her egg up slowly. She wanted to name her at this moment. It seemed like the best time to.
Just as she was thinking of the name, she heard a crack and a splinter. Surely the egg wouldn't hatch now, it was too early! The sun shone through the window, casting it's light onto the egg. LilyStream could see the egg shell popping off slowly, making a cracking noise every time it got closer to coming off.
There. A snout popped out. Suddenly a head popped out. Soon the whole baby dragonet was out of the shell, ready to explore Phyrria. She was small, but LilyStream loved her anyway. The horns were a nice shade of shiny light blue, while the rest of her body was white. The spikes and claws were the same color as the horns, but her underbelly was gray.
The dragonet's wings were gray also, but shiny. It was like stars were dancing on them. The white on LilyStream's baby dragonet reminded her of Snow, while her wings reminded her of stars.
She was like her own, perfect snowy-star. Wait, SnowyStar! That was it. She was going to name her dragonet SnowyStar.
"Awrrrk?" SnowyStar said, trying to talk. The noise was like music to LilyStream's ears.
"I'm your mommy, SnowyStar."
"Morrmy?" SnowyStar tried.
"Yes," LilyStream laughed. "Your Mommy."
"YOUR MAJESTY!!" BirdsEye roared impatiently. He came into the room, angry as ever.
"Ahem," BirdsEye said. "A war happening, AT THIS VERY SECOND."
"Warrrm?" SnowyStar asked BirdsEye. He looked at her, but then back at her mother.
"Right, i'm coming" LilyStream said, leaving SnowyStar in the room. She felt sad closing the door, but her kingdom needed her. She walked onto the balcony, following BirdsEye to their destination.
But SnowyStar was in the room, all by herself. "Morrmy?" She said. A moment passed. "Mommy?"
