Chapter 2

                                                                       (Endless's POV)

"Actually-" I quickly bowed seeing how angry she was. I was hoping once I was looking at the ground I wouldn't see how furious she was.

Nope.

Didn't work.

I could still catch a glimpse of her talons, the scales turning scarlet. "Glory-" Snowy said, quickly adding,"Ah, erm, Queen Glory. H-He actually was the dragon who saved you.." She said quietly.

The Queen's scales slowly turned back to their original color, indicating she was no longer mad. Glory was bigger in real life than in the scrolls, she looked regal and mighty. Like a real queen should. I also heard she ruled over this rainforest since she was 7.

"Eh," I finally said. "It was the both of us."

Next thing I knew, we were being hailed by millions of RainWings and NightWings. Actually, maybe not that many but it still was a lot.

Snowy and I were on this little stage, I guessed Queen Glory used for her Tribe Meetings.

"What do I do?" I asked her.

"Just smile and wave," She whispered back.

A little time passed. The sun was setting under the horizon, slowly but surely. I found Snowy over at the Food table, scooping some Strawberry-lemonade into her wooden cup out of a bowl labeled,'BerryNade'. The table was filled with an assortment of food. Bananas, watermelon, pig, you name it, I saw it all. I grabbed a cow and sat down at a table.

"Hey," I asked, scooting next to her. "Do they always throw parties like this?"

Snowy took a sip from her drink. "No," She answered finally. "But this is Queen Glory's way of relieving the tension and stress everyone's been having." She looked at the sunset. The sky looked like it had been painted on. Orange merging with pink, and a light purple mixing with blue.

"RainWings and Nightwings don't always get along, but look at them now," Her gaze sat on something, so I followed it.

There was a NightWing dancing with a RainWing, the RainWing's colors changing as she was being spun.

And there. Queen Glory sitting with a NightWing (I later learned his name was DeathBringer), having a chit-chat. It was so peaceful. It was weird that some tribes could just get along like this, but the tribes that couldn't do this with other tribes usually never learn about fun.

A moment passed until Snowy said,"You know End, i'm glad you came."

"Why?"

"Well, if you didn't, I probably wouldn't have seen another party like this in ages."

End was snoring peacefully, his chest rising up and down as he slept. I laughed to myself.

I sneaked out of my hut, making sure I didn't wake End up. I wanted to visit my mom, maybe have her tell me another legend about 'SpiritWings' or 'MorphWings'. Or maybe just talk to her about life.

It was dawn as I walked soundlessly out of my hut. The dew on the grass was cold, but I didn't let it bother me. I walked through the grass, feeling the water on my talons. I liked the feeling, to be honest.

I finally saw my mother's hut. Flowers and trees surrounded it, not exactly a garden, but the plants were wild and free. Most NightWings hated the trees and flowers, but it was perfect to me. The plants make the hut have an outdoors-y feeling to it. Like a tiny little forest my mom and I can live in forever.

I quietly stepped in, making sure I wouldn't wake her up if she was sleeping. I saw my mom in the kitchen, eating a banana. She looked so... Lonely.

"Hey mom," I called from the door.

"Snowy!" She said once she saw me again. "How's my little 'Queen Saver'?"

Mom also did this too. I did something 'amazing', and she'd give me a nickname like 'Sloth Tamer' and call me that the whole week.

  "I'm great!" I replied. "You?"

"I'm good too," She said, looking a bit nervous. Maybe she forgot to get the apples again.

"Well, mom, I was wondering if you could tell me about the 7 tribes again?"

She looked at me like this was the exact topic she didn't want to talk about. "Oh, of course, SnowDrop." She got out a scroll slowly. Her eyes darted to the top of the page, and she cleared her throat.

"On the day Phyrria was made, there were 7 tribes that ruled before the NightWings, IceWings, RainWings, MudWings, SeaWings, Sandwings, and Skywings. They were called MorphWings, DarkWings, TerraWings, StormWings/TornadoWings, RagnaWings, PyreWings,-" And then it seemed like she deliberately skipped SpiritWings when she paused.

"You know," My mom said. "How about you read it on your own? You're too old for me reading you scrolls, right?" She nodded quickly.

   "Oh, right."

My mom looked like she was relieved. I wondered why she was acting like this, but then I just decided to just roll with it.

______________(Scroll) (This is pretty much a guide to all the tribes :3 This might be boring, so skip whenever you want)
_

MorphWings. The only tribe that could morph into any living thing when they were alive. The only thing they could never seem to morph into was other tribes and inanimate objects. MorphWings were born with white, blank scales when they are born, but choose what they want to look like when they are about 3 years in age.Their weakness was DarkWings, being that they could never sense them in their shadow mode (see DarkWing powers on page 42). Most dragons in Phyrria are glad these dragons do not exist anymore, but further research has shown that MorphWings could be roaming this earth today, pretending to be a tribe they are not.

Wow. So that's what End was, a MorphWing. This wasn't like the stories mom told me when I was little. These were facts about these tribe legends. I flipped over to page 30 and found a tribe I was familiar with.

StormWings/TornadoWings. Also known as WeatherWings (TornadoWings are male while StormWings are female. See differences on gender on page 65). A very powerful tribe when they walked on Phyrria. The males (TornadoWings) have super-speed in the air, but are very fast in general. TornadoWings can generate small funnel clouds and can breathe large gusts of wind as well. Their weaknesses are Ice and Rocks. TornadoWings have slim bodies, and four wings with each having a pointed membrane. The scales are sleek and smooth. TornadoWings' heads are protected by a helmet-like skull. The colors are varied from light blues to darker grays. Most TornadoWings are daredevils and love a bit of challenges here and there. Little is known about the StormWings.

It was weird. Telling facts about tribes that are myths and legends? Why would you do that? But, it was kind of interesting, I guess. I flipped over to page 18.

TerraWings. Male TerraWings are bulky and muscular figures. (see picture of male and female TerraWings on page 20) They have a color close to the muddy colors of what we call MudWings. Male TerraWings' horns are curved like a ram's, and giant spikes run along from their snout to their tail. The wings are a bit small, but they can fly quickly. Female TerraWings have a slimmer body with a more ruby hue to them. Their wings are somewhat transparent, but are tinted red for show. The scales of a female TerraWing are a light red, but have some white mixed in. Female TerraWings have sharper claws and teeth than males, and they also have retractable fangs. The TerraWings have firepower and strength, but they have a limit to their firepower and are very slow. Females, however, have more firepower than males. Both male and female are not fireproof.

TerraWings, in my opinion, sounded like complete tanks. I was actually starting to believe that these dragons were not just myths, but really did roam early Phyrria. I flipped over to page 40.

DarkWings. The mysterious tribe. DarkWings had a black scale set, along with a darker purple underbelly (see colors of scales on page 50). Their horns curved to look almost like a goat's. DarkWings had a blade-like tail capable of inflicting major damage, but it is mostly used for peeling fruits. The wings had specks on them, similar to the NightWings'. DarkWings had forked tongues and fangs, curved to latch onto prey. This tribe cannot be exposed to the sun for long. No more is known about this tribe.

Strange. There should be more about this tribe.. I started to wonder why these DarkWings didn't had much about themselves. I flipped over to page 75.

PyreWings. PyreWings are either all red, orange, yellow, or black. All PyreWings have smooth scales and wings that are golden like the sun. PyreWings' weakness is Water and Ice, so dragons are guessing that their enemies are IceWings. PyreWings can set their bodies on fire in the proper circumstances, just not when it's raining (see what snow and rain does to PyreWings on page 78). No more is known about PyreWings.

Again with the mysterious tribes. I sighed and flipped over to page 16, hoping it wouldn't be all secretive about the tribes.

RagnaWings. Not a very friendly tribe when they roamed Phyrria. Most RagnaWings had a reputation of being rude to other tribes, and made enemies with everyone except for the DarkWings (see DarkWings on page 40). This tribe is fireproof, and kind of sadistic. RagnaWings can breathe fire, and can also shoot fireballs. Animuses in the tribe were not common. RagnaWings' weakness is Ice and Light. RagnaWings have black scales with deep red on the stomach, and that same deep red is also tinted on the wings. The eyes of a RagnaWing are dark, somewhat like void's, so the pupils cannot be seen. The eyes glow purple when angry. RagnaWings have curved fangs at the front of the mouth, and purple forked tongues. The RaganaWings' wings are giant and void-like, able to block out light completely. RagnaWings have sharp, black horns on the top of their heads and around the skull, but not on their snout.

Woohoo! A tribe that wasn't so mysterious and secretive. I flipped over to page 120, knowing it would be about SpiritWings. I didn't know why, but I really liked this tribe.

SpiritWings. SpiritsWings had these so called 'Spirits' that came to them if they either played a tune on this instrument called 'Lilay', or just called for them out loud. Calling for them didn't always work, though it didn't hurt to practice. Most male SpiritWings had somewhat transparent wings, but females had a light-blue tint to it (see SpiritWing wings on page 125). Male SpiritWings usually were white and blue, white and light-green, and white and black. Male SpiritWings also had the build of an IceWing, while Females had the build of a RainWing. Female SpiritWings tend to be colors of white and light-blue, white and light-pink, or white and light-green. Most all SpiritWings have gray, blue, green, or pink underbellies, depending on what their scale color is (light-blue scales meant a light-blue underbelly). It is rare to have a SpiritWing have 3-4 different colors. SpiritWings breath healing breath, but it isn't used often since it hurts.

_______________(End of Scroll) (Great job to those of you who continued to read the whole thing. Thank you for that :D)
__

My mom was just washing the wooden bowls when I looked at her. I was reading for about half an hour, I was guessing. The sun was higher in the sky, and the dew was gone from the grass. It actually got a bit cold and windy outside. I wondered if End was still sleeping.

"Oh," My mom said once she was finished washing the bowls. "You finished?"

"Yup." I said, getting up to leave.

"Wait," She put her talon on my shoulder, stopping me. "Did you read the part about SpiritWings?"

"Yup," I said again. "Why'd you ask?". My mom fidgeted with her talons.

"Well, your real mother wanted me to tell you what you really were.."

An awkward pause. Did she just say real mother? A million thoughts went through my head.

  I'm adopted?

Did my real parents leave me here?

  Did they want me?

Who are my real parents?

Why did my parents leave me here?

Why didn't mom tell me this sooner?

What am I...?

My mom went on slowly. "Snowy, you're a SpiritWing."

That was absolutely positively impossible. Didn't SpiritWings live hundreds of millions of years ago?! Was this some prank mom was trying out?

"Mom, can I get some fresh air...?" I asked after my thoughts were one. It was like I had fifty brains in my head, all of them thinking at the same time. It hurt just thinking, actually.

"Of course," She said, knowing how I felt right now. Right before I left, though, I put a note on the door saying 'I'm going to be gone for a bit. Love you mom. -Snowy'

_______________(At Snowy's Hut)

I found End awake, reading one of my scrolls. I literally had 50 scrolls on my wooden shelf in my hut. I walked up to him, and put my talon on his arm.

"End, were leaving," I said to him, tugging on him.

"Wha-?" He said. "But I just got here!!"

"We have to go," I said, pulling him out the door. I quickly packed 7 scrolls, 7 blankets, the Lilay mom gave me, and 25 pigs in my backpack. All the things fit-surprisingly- but I somehow knew I needed all of this stuff. I lead End out the door and to the forest.

"Why are we leaving again?" End asked grumpily, probably yearning for some cow or pig. I trudged through the muddy rainforest, dragging End along with me. Birds cawed as they looked at me, and vines hung on trees, getting in the way.

I pushed the vines aside gently. "I think I know what you meant by me being a myth or legend." I said.

  "Oh, you figured out."

"Yup," I said. "So, i'm leaving." A moment passed.

"You know, I felt the same way when the news hit me, but it's not good to just leave like this," He said. I looked back at the NightWing village. Was End right? Should I just stay?

"No," I said. "I know.. But I feel like this is what we have to do."

He sighed, but I trudged on.

It was dark by the time we were by 'The Dark Forest'. End brought a map along, and told me a bunch of legends about this place, and how to find where the Sky Kingdom was. It was fascinating, really, but I dozed off. Just right under the sky, full of stars.
