Y/N's POV:

With my routine back to normal after the past days, I decide to take it easy on the Spider-Man life and focus more on doing well at school and doing good in general. Not just beat random criminals up

It's been a while since Pete and MJ left on their quest for his resurrection's answers

Right now, I'm swinging through the beautiful New York City during nighttime when I notices something...odd

From a nearby roof, I see fireworks shaped as my mask. Is someone trying to get my attention?

I arrive at the rooftop and notice a girl, not older than twenty-five standing there

Y/N: Uh...may I help you?

Tasha: Spider-Man! I see you got my signal. I'm Tasha.

Y/N: Nice to meet you, Tasha. 

Tasha: I'm looking for my Grandpa Earl. He kept talking about meeting someone and now he's gone...I can't reach him anywhere. Can you please help me find him?

Y/N: Any clues where he might be?

She hands me an old picture. Looks like the Central Park Zoo. The Sea Lions part, specifically

Tasha: He gets confused and I just don't want him to get scared or hurt or...

She couldn't say the last part

Y/N: Hey...we're gonna find him. 

She hands me her number so we can keep contact

I jump out the rooftop and head to the Zoo

When I arrive there, there's no sign of Grandpa, but I see a note written to Earl himself

My wonderful Earl,

It's sunny today, around eighty-five degrees. Sky's blue and clear and beautiful. I took a walk through the botanical garden. Followed the same path you and I walked down when we were young and in love. It made me laugh thinking how nervous you were. Your palms were sweating so bad I'd thought you were gonna pass out! You were just too cute. Well I'm sure you're tired of that story by now. I just keep thinking about that walk. I'd give anything to go back there.

The sun doesn't seem as bright without you today, but when I close my eyes, its warmth makes me feel like you're beside me.

Don't worry about a thing. Just think about the big hug I'll be giving you when you get home.

After reading the note, I call Tasha

Y/N: Hey, no Grandpa here. But he left a note. Something about botanical gardens.

Tasha: My grandparents used to take weekend walks through the botanical gardens...that has to be where he is! They used to sit on a bench by a lake. Please find him.

Y/N: Will do.

After some more swinging, I notice an old man wearing a beret sitting on a bench by the lake

Y/N: Hey...I think I found your grandpa. I'll sit with him until you get here

Tasha: Thank you very much, Spider-Man. I'm on my way.

I approach Earl by the lake

Y/N: Hey there...sir.

Grandpa Earl: Spider-Man? Whatever you think I did...I didn't.

I chuckle

Y/N: Your granddaughter asked me to find you.

Grandpa Earl: Granddaughter...Huh. Well...tell her I'll be back in a minute.

I could tell he wasn't okay. His voice, his way of talking, the fact he was wandering around until he got here just shows he needs someone by his side. Poor man...

Grandpa Earl: I proposed to my wife right here.

Y/N: Wow...really?

He nods

Y/N: I have to ask...how did you propose?

Grandpa Earl: Well, first off, we had to go to the Zoo. Never met a soul who loved animals more thsn that woman...I was terrified. I wanted to ask her at the meerkats. She said they reminded her of me. But my knees were knocking, man! I couldn't see straight. We left the Zoo and...kept walking. Ended up here. She...

He sniffles a bit, it was clear he was feeling that moment and missing his wife

Grandpa Earl: If you saw her, man...just perfect, but clumsy. Nearly fell into that pond there...face first. You ever been in love Spider-Man?

This question catches me off-guard

Y/N: I...yes...I have...still am...I think so.

Grandpa Earl: Would you mind telling me her name?

Y/N: Her name is...Gwen. She's not from around here. So it got complicated...and honestly, I think it's better off this way.

Grandpa Earl: Why is that, son?

Y/N: I think it's because...I tried having a relationship before. Didn't end well.

Is Grandpa Earl making me share my feelings? Is this guy a wizard?

Grandpa Earl: Let me tell you something about love, Spider-Man. It's beautiful...nothing more beautiful. Can I tell you something, Spider-Man?

Y/N: Go ahead.

Grandpa Earl: I know I'm fading...

Damn...I don't think words ever hurt me...but this time, it hit me like...dropping an anvil on my head, except it's my heart. And instead of an anvil, it's a knife

Grandpa Earl: ...It's scary as hell. Thought I'd be ready, but...nothing gets you ready. Nothing. But when I'm here, it's like she is too. Like I'm living it all over again. All nervous and sweating and what not, then I look into her eyes and...it's like I'm home. I was so nervous that day, Spider-Man. Almost didn't ask.

It's honestly sad...but comforting the way he feels through his wife. Looks like they lived a very happy life...

Grandpa Earl: ...And it's like I blinked and she's gone

Y/N: I'm sorry...

Grandpa Earl: You said my granddaughter wanted to see me...let's go see her.

I then notice Tasha approaching us

Tasha: You gave me one hell of a scare, Grandpa.

Grandpa Earl: It was my fault for wandering off. But Spider-Man here took good care of me. Had a nice chat about your Grandma.

Tasha: She loved this place.

I leave Grandpa and Granddaughter by themselves so they could chat 

Third Person POV:

In the the distance, a drone shaped like a spider was watching on Y/N and his conversation with Grandpa Earl

Meanwhile, at Earth-928...

Miguel O'Hara, the Spider-Man of the year 2099 was the man controlling the drone and watching Y/N

He was dedicated to assembling a team of Spider-People in order to protect the multiverse, this is why he created the Spider Society, with different Spider individuals from across the multiverse

Right now, he was scouting Y/N to see if he was a liability or worthy of a spot on the team

Miguel was in a room full of monitors scouting Y/N and other Spider-People

Jessica Drew, the Spider-Woman of Eath-404 and Miguel's right hand in this whole operation arrives at the room

Jess: What is it that you wanted to talk to me?

Miguel: This kid we talked about earlier...I've been watching him. He has impressive abilities. Not your typical Spider-Man. I've been trying to track one of the anomalies recently, and it led me to his universe.

Jess: How is it going with the anomaly, by the way?

Miguel: Trail's gone cold...Red Goblin isn't pulling any attention to himself. And this is worrying me.

Jess: Well...why not bring this kid in? He kinda reminds me of you.

The pregnant Spider-Woman points to one of the monitors showing Y/N fighting some criminals with his newly acquired claws

Miguel: He...cares too much.

Jess: And how is that a bad thing?

Miguel: I don't think he's ready for this. In our world, Besides...he was a part of that Spider squad that made this mess in the first place.

Jess: He didn't know.

Lyla, Miguel's Personal AI decides to share her thoughts

Lyla: She's right, Miguel. Why don't we recruit Miguel 2.0 here? He could be of use.

Miguel: Fine...but keep an eye on him. If he ever puts a mission on jeopardy, I want him gone. In the meanwhile, I'm sending Peter and Peni to check on the anomaly. Sp//Dr is gonna be useful against Red Goblin and Peter's got experience with symbiotes.

Jess: You know there are thousands of Peters here, right? You gotta be more specific.

Lyla: I think he meant 1048 Peter

Jess: The gamerverse one? Cool.

Jess gives Miguel a look which he immediately recognizes

Miguel: What?

Jess: What about the blonde? She can put him in order. A Spider-Man like him is valuable to us...

Miguel: She just arrived here after we caught Vulture and now you want me to send her to see her boyfriend? This isn't gonna work. Relationships are...

He then remembers he was talking to a pregnant woman before saying anything

Jess: Relationships are what?

Miguel: A distraction. No offense, but they're young. And in this mission of ours, distractions can lead to something bad.

Jess: Miguel, if you've been scouting him, you'd know that a friendly face would make things easier to join us.

Miguel: Isn't Peni friendly enough?

Jess: You know what I'm talking about. If she does something stupid, blame it on me.

Miguel: Fine...

Back at Earth 685, the next day...

Eddie Brock sits down on his couch in his Jersey apartment after disappearing a while ago

Venom has been retired for a couple of years now. Y/N only met Eddie through Peter and his connections at the Bugle, but it was Peter during his days as Spider-Man who went toe to toe against Venom

The symbiote senses a strange presence...something he only felt with other symbiotes

Venom: EDDIE!

Eddie gets startled as he sees the head of the symbiote sticking out of his shoulder

Eddie: Ah! What!?

Venom: There is something really wrong going on!

Eddie: Please don't tell me you're hungry. I've been feeding you steak since last month. Your diet became way too complicated ever since we had to lay low.

Venom: Although you didn't have any complaints about us eating people back then, this is now what I want to talk about.

Eddie: Oh my God...what is it this time?

Venom: I'm sensing something strange...a connection I haven't felt in years...not ever since they locked us and Parker in that lab and experimented on us. Remember that, Eddie?

Eddie: That time when Peter became that red gooey thing that looks like you?

Venom: YOU DO NOT COMPARE US TO THAT THING!

Eddie: Stop screaming so damn loud!

Venom: I feel like he's here...but he's not from here.

Eddie: What are you even saying?

Venom: I am saying that I feel his presence...but he is not from our universe. We have to find him...there is enough room for one symbiote here!

Eddie: It's none of my business. I just wanna lay low.

Venom: Eddie...from where I'm from, the red ones are always the worst. If he is in this planet and if he is on the loose...there will be carnage. Let us be the Lethal Protector I always talked to you about.

Eddie: Yeah...not using that name.

Venom: Buzzkill.

Eddie transforms into Venom and leaves his apartment, searching for Carnage

At Midtown High, Y/N and the basketball team had a little scrimmage against themselves

Due to Hobie going AWOL after recent events, coach Jack decides to promote Donovan to the A Team, looking like this in the starting lineup:

Y/N at Point Guard

Donovan at Shooting Guard

Danny at Small Forward

Flash at Power Forward

Luke at Center

Right now, the coach was talking to his players when he notices that Danny wasn't focusing

Coach Jack: Leeds,  Brown... you get to keep your spots on B. Rand! Stop flirting and get on the court!

Danny, who was "talking" to a cheerleader on the stands and steps on the court

Danny: I swear I'll call you, alright?

Cindy: You better. I'd stare at your tatoo for hours

After practice, Y/N and Flash were talking about what they'd want to do after they finish school

Y/N: I'm thinking about going to ESU...study physics. You?

Flash: I'm thinking about joining the army...fight for my country, y'know?

Y/N: Wow man, that's...

Y/N then senses something weird...

That's when they hear a loud explosion and a red man on top of a glider comes crashing down the ceilling

Red Goblin: I'm here to see Peter Parker! HAHAHAHAHAHA.

Y/N and the other students run away 

He needs to change...fast.

He hides himself in the janitor's closet and suits up

After that, he finds the Red Goblin wreaking havoc in the school

Y/N: Hey, nice outfit! I like the way you look like a Red Devil...are you a Manchester United fan by any chance?

Red Goblin: Different world, same old jokes! Oh, the screams I'm gonna wrench outta you! Peter...

Y/N gets confused for a second when he mentions different worlds and when Goblin calls him Peter, but when he sees him glitching, he comes to a conclusion by himself

Y/N: Oh, I get it...you're not from around here. 

Goblin then charges at Y/N, who dodges, but almost gets caught by him

Y/N: So...this red goo you got all over you. It's a symbiote, right? So, if I do this...

He grabs some drum cymbals next to him and bashes them against each other, but it doesn't seem to affect Goblin

Y/N: Oh boy...

Norman then rushes towards Y/N and starts choking him

Red Goblin: After I kill you, I'll be unstoppable. Finally, the day has come! Behold...Norman Osborn victorious!

Y/N, who was struggling with air, decides to quip one last time...

Y/N: I...think...you...talk...too...much. And I'm not a quiet guy.

Without noticing, a man in a green suit wearing a yellow mask punches Goblin and sends him crashing through a wall

Iron Fist: Are you alright?

He helps Y/N get up

Y/N: Thanks...Iron Fist, right?

Iron Fist: Huh...you've heard about me?

Y/N: Yeah...I'm a big fan of your work.

As Y/N was talking, Red Goblin gets back on his feet 

Red Goblin: That was a nice punch...too bad it will be the last you've ever thrown!

Despite their combined efforts, the Red Goblin proves to be a formidable opponent, pushing the duo to their limits. The battle intensifies, with the Red Goblin unleashing a torrent of spikes and symbiote tendrils

He glitches again, making Iron Fist get confused

Iron Fist: Whoa...what the hell is that?

Y/N: He's glitching. That happens when you stay way too much in a dimension that isn't yours.

Iron Fist: Wait, what?!

Just when Y/N was about to answer, he hears students screaming for help

Y/N: Help them...it's me he's after.

Iron Fist: You sure?

Y/N: Go!

He leaves Y/N and Norman by themselves

Red Goblin: Bad idea for you to make your friend leave...you don't stand a chance against us...

After that, a deep unknown voice echoes through the school gym

?????: He is not alone...

Venom comes to support Y/N against Norman

Red Goblin: I know I'm not from this earth...but hello father.

Venom: We are not your father...

And just like that, a ruthless battle begins 

With Venom's arrival, the tide of the battle shifts. The black symbiote's power and ruthless nature are well-known, and it sees the Red Goblin as a threat that needs to be neutralized

The battle reaches its climax, with the heroes using their combined strength and abilities to try and overpower the Red Goblin

But the Goblin was very powerful. He managed to use his Carnage powers and uses his tendrils to grab Y/N and Eddie, making them unable to move

Red Goblin: I'm going to enjoy this

As the Red Goblin gains the upper hand and prepares to deliver a potentially fatal blow, a shimmering portal materializes behind him. Out of the portal emerge Peni Parker, piloting her Sp//dr mech suit with precision and determination

The robot fires rockets and flamethrowers at Red Goblin to neutralize him

Peni: Only I get to annoy him!

Y/N couldn't recognize the robot, but he  sure did recognize the voice

Peni: Hi!

She opens the robot's hatch and smiles at him

Y/N: Peni?

Just as he was about to say something, a Spider-Man with a white Spider logo on his chest kicks Norman's face

Spider-Man 1048: That felt good!

Spider-Man 1048: Nice to meet you, I'm Spider-Man.

And a third individual jumps down and lands gracefully on the ground

That white suit, those white shoes...she was there for him...

Gwen Stacy, the Spider-Woman

Gwen: Hey there, little troublemaker...I missed you.

Y/N freezes and doesn't say a word

Y/N: G-Gwen?!

Red Goblin: ENOUGH!

Red Goblin then uses his symbiote surge, knocking everyone down 

Y/N jumps in front of Gwen to protect her, but he gets injured badly

As everyone was knocked back, Red Goblin sees Y/N crawling, trying to reach for an unconscious Gwen, so the villain picks her up

Red Goblin: I know what I must to now...I'll attack your heart...make you suffer.

Y/N: Norman...please.

Red Goblin: Come and find  us...

He jumps on top of his glider and flies away with Gwen...

The hero's long awaited reencounter with her now was cut short by an evil man

He couldn't lose her...not again

Y/N struggles to get up, but he does it, eventually

Limping and hurting, he helps Eart-1048 Peter get up

Spider-Man 1048: Thanks...

Y/N: I need to find Gwen...

Peni gets up

Peni: We need a plan, Y/N...

Y/N: I have a plan...I'm going to find Goblin and I'm gonna do what I should have done a long time ago!

Peni: You're not like this...just breathe, okay? We'll get him.

Y/N takes a deep breath

Y/N: I'm listening...

Peni: He is way too powerful...I feel we underestimated him. Fire doesn't affect him that much and sound doesn't have the slightest effect on him.

Venom: We have an idea!

Peni gets startled by Venom

The black symbiote retracts his head, showing Eddie's face now instead.

Eddie: I'm tapping out. Take my symbiote.

Y/N just shakes his head, remembering the time when Peter had this and the effects it caused on him

Y/N: No way!

Eddie: Listen to me...he's got an upgrade. Now it's your time to get one.

Y/N: I can't risk it. I've seen what it did to Peter. I can't let it take control.

Eddie: I know what you mean, but this time it's different. We've made our peace. I've learned to control it, and I know you can too.

Y/N sighs and accepts, now letting the symbiote cover his suit

Y/N: Peni, you got any idea where he took Gwen?

Peni: According to her tracker, it says she's at Queensboro Bridge.

Y/N's eyes widen when Peni mentions the bridge...where he lost his Gwen once. But now, he wasn't going to let that happen again

Y/N: Let's finish this...
