Reunion

Earth-1610

Brooklyn, New York

Miles stands frozen for a moment as he processes the sight of Gwen descending from the portal. Her familiar figure and reassuring smile fill him with a mix of relief and excitement. As soon as her feet touch the ground, she rushes toward him and wraps him in a warm, tight embrace.

Miles: How did you get...how have you been?

Gwen: Uhh...I've been...good. I've been...just great. And look at you! You grew, huh? Had a little growth spurt?

Miles: Yeah...your hair's gotten...pinker. Is that thing gonna be open or what?

Miles points to the portal, which was still open

Gwen: Oh...I brought a friend...

As Gwen's words hang in the air, another figure descends from the portal, landing gracefully beside her. The new arrival is a striking Spider-Woman with a confident presence.

Gwen: Miles, this is Anya Corazon. I decided to bring her along in this trip

Anya: Hey, Miles. It's great to finally meet you. Y/N and Gwen talk a lot about you.

Anya takes off her Sweater, revealing her spider suit underneath and drapes it over the chair

Miles: Wait, wait. Y/N?

Gwen nods, her expression softening

Gwen: Yeah, Y/N. Is this the room you grew up in?

Miles: Yeah, but my dorm room is very adult. So...what are you doing here? I mean,I thought I'd never see you again

Gwen sits on the ledge of his window

Gwen: Wanna get out of here?

Oh how he would. But...

Miles: I'm... grounded.

Gwen&Anya: Bummer.

Both Spider-Women backflip out his open window. Miles rushes over to find them effortlessly standing horizontally on the building

Anya: Is Spider-Man grounded?

...

Moments later, there's a knock on Miles' door

Rio: Miles...your father's ready to listen now...

The door swings open, revealing Rio and Jeff. They look around the room and find it empty. The open window catches Rio's eye, and she notices a girl's sweater draped over the chair.

Rio: Miles?

Jeff: THAT'S THREE MONTHS!

Rio picks up the sweater, recognizing it as not belonging to anyone in their household

...

The sun casts a warm, golden hue over the city as Miles swings through the air, struggling to keep up with Gwen and Anya, who move effortlessly

Miles: Wait, hold on. There's an elite society with all the best spider-people in it?

Gwen: Okay, so there's this lady, Jess Drew. She rides a motorcycle...

Miles: Motorcycle?

Anya: Yeah, she's kind of a big deal. She's been around for a while, really knows her stuff. We've been learning a lot from her!

Miles: Yeah, I've learned a lot of stuff too. Leveled up my whole thing.

Gwen: Oh yeah? Let's see it then...Thread the needle!

Gwen and Anya dive between two trucks, their movements fluid and precise. Miles follows suit, his heart racing as he narrowly avoids a third truck.

Miles: Easy!

He lets out a breath of relief, feeling the rush of adrenaline coursing through him

Anya: And Miguel, the whole thing was his idea.

Miles: Right. And... who's Miguel?

Gwen: He's like a ninja/vampire Spider-Man, but a good guy?

Miles: A vampire good guy? I'd pay good money to see that.

Gwen laughs and DINGS a water tower with a flick of her web. Miles responds, DONGING it with his own web. They're playing a super-powered game of H.O.R.S.E

Miles: How long did they invite you guys?

Anya: Uh only, like, a few months ago.

Miles: Months is kind of a long time...

Gwen: Okay, this one counts for two.

The girls swing between two buildings and flips around an antenna. This time Miles mimics the combo flawlessly

They grab hotdogs from a street vendor, webbing cash to him as they swing by

Miles: Keep the change!

Miles: So, this club-

Anya: Hey, check that out!

They spot a purse thief down below

Gwen: Guy in the stripes, ten points.

They easily stop the crime and web the thief to a lamppost

Miles: What kinda stuff you guys do?

Anya: We're trying to keep the multiverse from collapsing

Miles: I thought we did that already.

They go back to swinging around the city

Gwen: Some time ago, Y/N had to go to this weird Blade Runner world where-

Miles cuts her off

Miles: By the way, where is he now?

He swings higher, keeping pace with Gwen and Anya,

Gwen: Well...

Earth-685

Queens, New York

Y/N arrives at his home after the intense battle with the Sentinels. He steps through the door, weary but relieved to be back. Without his mask but still in his suit, he collapses onto the couch, taking a deep breath to steady himself.

In the kitchen, May hears the familiar sound of the door and rushes into the living room.

May: Y/N, is that you?

Y/N: Hi mom...been a while.

May walks over, her eyes scanning his body for any visible injuries. She notices a few cuts and bruises but nothing too severe.

May: Thank goodness you're safe.

Y/N: Turns out the Sentinels weren't just targetting the mutants. They were targetting anyone with enhanced abilities...me, the Fantastic Four. God, it was mayhem...

May sits beside him, placing a comforting hand on his shoulder.

May: Are you hurt?

Y/N: No, I'm fine. Just a few scratches. Nothing serious.

May gently touches his cheek, her concern evident.

May: I worry about you, Y/N. Every time you're out there-

Y/N: I know...but people need my help. And now...I'm a part of something bigger...bigger than myself.

May nods, understanding his sense of duty but still fearful for his safety.

May: I just wish... I wish you didn't have to carry this burden alone.

Y/N scoffs and smiles

Y/N: I'm not alone, mom. I have friends who watch my back...here and in other universes.

May's eyes soften, touched by his words and the realization that her son has found a new family among his allies.

May: Well, I'm glad to hear that. You've always had a good heart, Y/N. Just promise me you'll be careful out there.

Y/N: I promise, Mom. I'll do my best to stay safe.

They sit in silence for a moment, drawing comfort from each other's presence. The quiet is a stark contrast to the chaos of the battle Y/N had just faced.

May: Do you want something to eat? You must be starving.

Y/N: Yeah, that would be great. Thanks, Mom.

May heads to the kitchen to prepare a meal, and Y/N takes the opportunity to reflect on the day's events. The battle with the Sentinels, the camaraderie with the X-Men, and his upcoming journey to help on Miles' Earth

After a couple of minutes, Y/N finishes with his meal and gets ready to leave once again. The battle was tough, but May's lasagna heals every wound. It reminded him why he fights...for the people he loves and the world he wants to protect.

May: You know, your father would be proud of you. You're doing so much good out there.

Y/N smiles softly before putting on his mask

May: Now go save the world...Spider-Man

With that, he opens a portal and steps through, leaving his home behind to face the challenges ahead

Back at Earth-1610B

Brooklyn, New York

Jefferson Morales' promotion party

After a meaningful conversation earlier on a clock tower, Miles, Anya and Gwen sit on the rooftop, under the shadow of a water tower, munching on various snacks they've pilfered from the party. In their civilian clothes, they blend in with the night, away from the hustle and bustle below. The trio enjoys a moment of peace, away from the pressures of their superhero lives

Anya: Mmmm. Wow. Feelings make me hungry.

Miles: Oh yeah. These plátanos are just deep-fried feelings.

Gwen: It's nice up here. Quiet.

Miles: Yeah, it's my go-to spot when I need to clear my head.

From their vantage point at the party, Jeff and Rio Morales watch their son Miles as he talks animatedly with Gwen and Anya on a nearby rooftop. The scene is a mix of parental concern and curiosity.

Rio: The blonde one looks old enough to vote. I bet she doesn't even speak Spanish.

Jeff: ¡Que barbaridad!

Back at the water tower, Miles, Gwen, and Anya enjoy their makeshift meal while Miles examines Anya's dimensional travel watch with a mix of curiosity and envy

Miles: This thing keeps you guys from glitching in other dimensions?

Gwen: Yeah, it's pretty cool.

Miles sighs

Miles: What's it gonna take for Miguel O'Hara to notice Miles Morales?

Anya: We'll...put in a good word.

Miles: I'm just saying, if I had a watch, I could come with you. I did save the multiverse!

Just as Miles finishes his sentence, a familiar voice interrupts.

Y/N: He's right, ladies...he did save the multiverse by destroying that fatass' collider. And I couldn't say how proud I was...until now!

Miles spins around, a huge grin spreading across his face.

Miles: Y/N! Man, it's so good to see you!

Y/N pulls Miles into a tight hug, patting his back

Y/N: Nice to see you too, bro. I see you've grown...but you still got the Jay's...fresh

Miles laughs and looks down at his pair of Jordan 1s

Miles: Yeah...they're my lucky shoes

Y/N: It's been one year dude. Have the Nets managed to win a championship?

Miles: Have the Knicks managed to get to the playoffs?

Y/N laughs heartily, shaking his head at the friendly jab

Y/N: Touché

Miles: Like really...you guys had KD and Kyrie and still managed to lose.

Y/N's eyes widen in genuine surprise, the news hitting him like a ton of bricks.

Y/N: WE HAD KD AND KYRIE?!

Miles chuckles, enjoying the look of shock on Y/N's face.

Miles: Yep. And they still couldn't pull it off.

Gwen and Anya watch the exchange with amusement. The casual, light-hearted banter between Miles and Y/N offers a rare glimpse of normalcy amidst their often chaotic lives

Gwen: Guess some things are constant across the multiverse. The Knicks losing is one of them

Anya laughs, enjoying their time there

Anya: Yeah, seems like it

Miles looks at Anya, wanting to make some small talk

Miles: So...Anya, you support any teams?

Anya: Oh...me and my family had to move to Mexico when I was very young, so I grew up there. We supported the Tigres de la Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León. And when we came back when I was 10, I started supporting the New Jersey Nets.

Y/N&Miles: New Jersey?

Anya laughs, enjoying their reaction

Anya: Yeah...they're still called the New Jersey Nets in my universe

Y/N then signalizes something to Gwen

Y/N: Uhh...me and Gwen are gonna grab something to eat in the party. You two...tête-à-tête

Y/N gives Miles a knowing wink before he and Gwen go back towards the party. As they leave, Miles and Anya are left at the water tower. The sounds of the city rise up around them...distant car horns, the murmur of conversations from below, and the occasional bark of a dog. The air is crisp and cool, a gentle breeze rustling through the trees and bringing with it the scent of street food from the vendors below

Meanwhile, back at the party, Y/N and Gwen navigate through the crowd, grabbing plates of food and drinks. The atmosphere is lively, with music playing and people chatting animatedly. Colorful decorations cast vibrant shadows in the evening light. The smell of various dishes wafts through the air, making Y/N's stomach rumble in anticipation

Gwen: Don't you ever wonder what it feels like? Being normal again?

Y/N: Normal?

Gwen looks out over the city, the soft glow of the lights reflecting in her eyes.

Gwen: Yeah, you know...just being able to go to school, hang out with friends, not worry about saving the multiverse or fighting bad guys all the time. Just...being a regular teenager.

Y/N: It's been so long, I'm not sure I even remember what normal feels like.

Gwen: Sometimes, I think about it. What my life would be like if I wasn't Spider-Woman. But then I remember why I do this. Why we do this. And it feels...worth it.

Y/N: Yeah. It's definitely worth it. But still, it'd be nice to have a break sometimes, wouldn't it?

They both laugh, the sound blending with the distant hum of the city. Gwen takes a bite of her food, savoring the flavors.

Gwen: Speaking of breaks, this party is a nice one. It's good to just...be here. With friends.

Y/N nods in agreement, looking back towards Miles and Anya at the water tower.

Y/N: Yeah, it is. And it's good to see Miles again. He's really grown, hasn't he?

Gwen: He has. He's going to do great things. I can feel it

Y/N and Gwen turn to see Miles' parents approaching them. Rio's expression is a mix of curiosity and mild suspicion, while Jeff appears more relaxed but attentive

Rio: Hello, I'm Miles' mom.

Gwen: Rio! We've heard so much about you!

Rio: You're using my first name...okay.

Y/N smiles, sensing the mild tension and decides to use his charm

Y/N: Es un placer conocerla finalmente, Sra. Morales. Me llamo Y/N y esta es Gwen, mi novia. (It's a pleasure to finally meet you, Ms. Morales. My name is Y/N and this is Gwen, my girlfriend.)

Gwen's eyes widen slightly with surprise, her Spanish was rusty, but she definitely knew what "novia" meant

Rio softens at Y/N's respectful use of Spanish, a small smile playing at the corners of her mouth

Rio: El placer es mío, Y/N. (The pleasure is mine, Y/N)

Jeff: Yeah, we appreciate it. He talks about you guys a lot

Y/N: All good things, I hope.

Rio laughs

Rio: Of course. Well, enjoy the party. I'm gonna talk to Miles now

Rio and Jeff then leave them as Gwen playfully nudges Y/N

Gwen: Girlfriend, huh?

Y/N grins

Y/N: Well...that's what you are, right? We didn't talk about our situation, so-

Y/N's eyes widen in surprise but quickly close as he leans into the kiss, wrapping his arms around Gwen. The kiss is brief but passionate, leaving both of them a little breathless when they pull away

Gwen: That's exactly what I am

Meanwhile, at the water tower...

Miles keeps inspecting Anya's watch, feeling a pang of frustration and envy. He had saved the multiverse, yet he still hadn't been called to the Spider Society. The watch gleamed in the city lights, a symbol of a world he wasn't yet part of.

Miles: So, what's it like? Being part of the Spider Society

Anya: It's... intense. But it's also incredible.

Miles: All I'm saying is...you guys could maybe convince Miguel to make me join you guys in this task force

Anya sighs and looks down

Anya: Look, Miles...I told you we'd put on a good word to Miguel. It's...a small elite strike force.

Miles: I can turn invisible...and I got these awesome electric powers

Anya: If it were up to us...

Miles: I know...I know.

Miles looks up at the night sky, the stars faint against the city lights but still visible, twinkling with distant promise. He takes a deep breath, letting the cool air fill his lungs

Anya glances at Miles, noticing the mixture of determination and frustration on his face. She reaches out and places a hand on his shoulder, offering a comforting squeeze

Miles then idly pushes a button on the watch, and it starts to HUM with an intense vibration

Anya: No! Don't do that! Miles!

In a swift motion, she webs the watch right out of his hands, pulling it back to her. Her expression is a mix of frustration and concern.

Anya: It's... really delicate.

Miles: Alright, jeez...

He raises his hands in a gesture of surrender, a sheepish look on his face. The brief moment of tension dissipates as Anya takes a deep breath, trying to calm herself

Anya: Sorry, it's just... these things are more complicated than they look. One wrong move and you could end up in a completely different dimension

As Anya and Miles continue their conversation, they suddenly hear footsteps coming up the water tower. Rio appears at the top, her expression a mix of curiosity and determination.

Rio: Hello! Hi. I'm Miles' mom.

Miles: Oh boy...

Miles' face flushes with a mix of embarrassment and surprise. Anya quickly fixes her posture, trying to maintain her composure despite the unexpected interruption

Anya: Hi, Mrs. Morales. I'm Anya. It's nice to meet you

Rio hands Anya her sweater with a knowing look.

Rio: This is nice. We found it in Miles's room. So, I guess you must have been there.

Anya takes the sweater, her cheeks flushing slightly.

Anya: Uh, yeah. Thanks, Mrs. Morales. I left it there when we were talking.

Rio: Talking, huh? Well, I hope you kids aren't getting into too much trouble.

Miles: Mom, seriously. We were just talking. Y/N and Gwen were there too

Jeff struggles up over the little ladder

Anya: And you must be Jeff

Jeff: She called me Jeff. You must mean Lieutenant Morales. Soon to be Captain Morales

Anya smiles, nodding in acknowledgment and mocking a salute, not going well

Miles: Anya and I are friends from school

Anya: Yeah...we were just catching up

She puts her hands on Miles' back

Rio: Aw... don't take him from me!

Miles: Mom!

Rio chuckles, waving her hand dismissively

Rio: I'm just kidding. He's grounded so you can't. Don't break his heart.

BEEP BEEP BEEP

As Rio says that, Anya's watch beeps as she quickly covers her watch, trying to muffle the beeping sound. She then gives Miles and his parents a reassuring smile

Anya: Sorry...this is...my fitness tracker...I gotta get my steps in. I really wish I could've stayed longer. Bye, Miles...

Miles: Yeah, bye...

Miles feels a pang of disappointment as he watches Anya disappear down the fire escape. He looks over his shoulder at the bustling party below, scanning the crowd for any sign of Y/N and Gwen. They're gone too

Rio nods to Jeff, who quickly understands the message and leaves both of them by themselves at the water tower. She then looks at Miles with a gentle, understanding smile. Her eyes reflect both concern and an unwavering belief in her son. Miles avoids her gaze, staring out at the horizon

Rio: I hope I didn't "ice your game," man...

He finally turns to face her, his expression a mix of amusement and exasperation

Miles: No one my age says those words in that order, mom

Rio laughs, her voice soft and comforting. She steps closer, placing a reassuring hand on Miles' shoulder

Rio: It's just hard to see my little man not be my little boy all the time. Papa, you know you can tell me anything. No hay mentiras entre nosotros (There are no lies between us)

Miles hesitates, his fingers fidgeting with the cuff of his spider-suit hidden beneath his clothes. He feels the weight of his secret, the burden of his double life pressing down on him

Miles: Well...

He glances at his mother, her eyes filled with warmth and concern. For a moment, he considers telling her the truth, revealing his identity as Spider-Man. But the words catch in his throat, and he looks away, the weight of his responsibilities pulling him back

Miles: I'm...

He trails off, the unspoken confession hanging in the air. Instead, he shakes his head, deciding against it.

Miles: I'm sorry I was late.

Rio knows there's so much he isn't saying. She closes her eyes, takes a deep breath, then...

Rio: Go

Miles looks at her, confused

Miles: Go? What do you mean?

Rio glances towards where Anya had disappeared, then back at Miles

Miles narrows his eyes, trying to gauge if this is some sort of trick

Miles: Is this a trick?

Rio sighs, shaking her head

Rio: It's not a trick, jeez.

She steps forward, grabbing his jacket and giving it a little tug to straighten it out

Miles: What are you...

Rio: Let me fix you, just...

She brushes off some invisible lint, smoothing down the fabric with practiced ease. Her hands linger for a moment, as if reluctant to let him go

Rio: For years...I've been taking care of this little boy, right? Making sure he's loved, that he feels like he belongs wherever he wants to be. He wants to go out into the world and do great big things, and what I worry about most is... they won't look out for you like us. They won't root for you like us.

Miles looks at her, seeing the mixture of pride and worry in her eyes. Her strong, unwavering gaze holds a depth of emotion that makes his chest tighten. She's always been his rock, his constant source of love and support

Rio: So, here's the deal: Wherever you go from here, you have to promise to take care of that little boy for me. Make sure he never forgets where he came from. And he never doubts that he is loved. And he never lets anyone at those big fancy places he's gonna be in tell him that he doesn't belong there. And when he comes home... and he better come home... you're gonna be early and you're gonna be holding a normal nice cake

Miles laughs, the sound ringing out in the evening air

Miles: Yeah, okay.

Rio's expression turns serious, her eyes locking onto his.

Rio: You gotta promise, Miles

Miles: I promise

Rio: Just... don't get lost. ¿Me oyes?(You hear me?)

Miles: Alright.

Rio: Cool.

Miles takes a deep breath, feeling the weight of her words. He leans in, kissing her cheek.

Miles: Bendición, mami. (Blessing, mother)

This casual goodbye...literally "may I have your blessing?" carries a deeper significance tonight. Rio's eyes soften, a tender smile playing on her lips

Rio: Que Dios te bendiga.(May God bless you). Now go... get out of here.

Miles starts to step away, turning back for one last look.

Rio: And when you come back, you're still grounded.

He laughs, shaking his head and Rio smiles

Rio: Ha ha, yeah I'm smiling like it's a joke, but it's true.

Miles: Yeah, I figured. See ya later. With a cake.

Miles heads towards the edge of the roof, ready to swing back into the city. Rio watches him, her heart swelling with pride and worry

Miles swiftly makes his way down the fire escape, the metal steps clanging softly beneath his feet. He deftly switches into his Spider-Man suit, the familiar fabric a comforting second skin. The city's lights flicker in the background, illuminating his path as he hurries

Meanwhile, Gwen, Anya, and Y/N swing onto the side of an elevated track, arriving at the scene of chaos. Spot's apartment building is riddled with massive holes, like a slice of Swiss cheese, and police swarm the area below

Anya: Jesus...

Gwen spots an empty squad car and, with a quick flick of her wrist, shoots a web at the gear shift. The car starts to roll backward, causing a commotion among the officers who chase after it, distracted

Miles arrives just in time to see Gwen use the distraction to swing into Spot's apartment. He follows, invisible, as they assess the damage inside. The room is a mess, with walls punctured by large, irregular holes.

Y/N: What the hell happened here?

They deploy tiny drones from their watches. The drones buzz around the apartment, scanning the area and projecting holographic images. The severity of the situation quickly becomes apparent

Gwen: Shiiiiiiit.

Miles' gaze falls on a cluster of terrariums filled with spiders. One terrarium is empty, labeled "Earth-42" with a small note: "Deceased :(" It dawns on him that this was the spider that bit him.

Gwen activates her watch, issuing a command to it.

Gwen: Show me what happened

The drones project a holographic recording of Spot entering the apartment, his arms full of hardware. The hologram shows Spot hurriedly moving about, muttering to himself.

Spot (Hologram): I need more spots! It was right under where my nose would've been

Miles (whispering): Shiiiit

Spot (Hologram): I just need a little bit more dimensional juice... never did come up with a good name for that. Branding was never my strong suit.

Gwen taps her watch, hitting fast forward. The hologram speeds up, showing Spot rapidly connecting pipes, hooking up wires, and typing code.

Spot (Hologram): ...If I connect the city power line to my micro-collider prototype... it could generate a little more concentrated dark energy....

Y/N: Shiiiieeet!

Spot (Hologram): I just need enough to get me somewhere with a full-sized collider...

The hologram shows Spot firing up a Micro-Collider, a miniature version of the large collider that caused all the initial chaos and his origin

Spot (Hologram): Spider-Man, I'll make you pay for everything you took away from me.

A roiling beam of dark, ominous energy erupts from the micro-collider, casting eerie shadows around the room.

Spot (Hologram): This is gonna work! Or vaporize me and everything in this building, which... would not be good.

The hologram shows Spot lowering his finger into the beam. The energy tears violently through his body, causing spots to swirl as the black beam overtakes him, eventually sucking him into a tiny dot. The resulting implosion is concussive and devastating. If it weren't a hologram, they'd have been eviscerated

Gwen, Anya, and Y/N watch the scene unfold, their eyes widening in alarm.

Gwen&Anya&Y/N: Shiiiiiiiiit!

Watch Voice: Replay complete.

Gwen: Nooo! Why why why why?

Suddenly, a hologram of Jess appears, her presence commanding immediate attention.

Jess: Gwen!

Gwen: Hi...

Jess: Whatcha doin'?

Gwen: Nothing! I'm good. All good. Yeah, everything's good. Bye!

Gwen hurriedly tries to turn off the Jess hologram, but Jess overrides her

Jess: Where's the bad guy you three were supposed to monitor?

Gwen: He just stepped out for a moment.

Jess: DUDE!

Y/N: He's just some villain of the week...

Jess: LYLA!

LYLA, the AI assistant, appears and pulls up a holographic Multiverse Map

LYLA: Tracking... oh hey look, I got him! Never mind, hold on...slippery guy

Miles, still invisible and hidden in the shadows, processes the interaction with growing curiosity and concern. Who are all these people? What are Gwen, Y/N, and Anya even doing here?

Jess: Did you go see your little friend?

Y/N: What? No... I mean... c'mon, it's a little visit.

Jess's face tightens with frustration.

Jess: Are you kidding me right now?!

Anya tries to cover for them, her voice trembling slightly.

Anya: Only briefly, from afar...

Jess: How far?

Gwen: Like... y'know about this...far...

Gwen holds up her hands three feet apart, then slowly narrows the distance to more like three inches.

LYLA: Oh, that's way too close.

Jess: You guys are unbelievable. You too, Anya. I thought you'd focus on the task at hand. And not waste your time with these...distractions

Anya looks down, guilt written across her face.

Anya: I...I

Y/N steps in, his voice firm.

Y/N: We messed up, okay?

Jess: He can't be a part of this!

Gwen, her voice cracking, tries to sound reassuring.

Gwen: It's okay. We'll never see him again.

Y/N looks at Gwen with a mix of shock and hurt.

Y/N: Never?!

Anya, feeling a pang of sadness, glances down. She had started to form a connection with Miles.

LYLA: Guys, he's making his own portals. He can jump wherever he wants. Could be a total canon killer...

Jess: You said he was a villain of the week! Do you know how bad this is for you??

Y/N, his patience wearing thin, snaps back.

Y/N: Spare me the lecture, Jessica.

LYLA: Hmm. Every dimension he stops at has an Alchemax.

Jess: What's he up to, Gwen?

Gwen looks at the ground, feeling the weight of her responsibility.

Gwen: I...we don't know.

Miles, still hidden, whispers to himself.

Miles (whispering): He's trying to make himself more powerful so he can beat me.

Jess: You don't know. Amazing. My star pupil, everyone!

Y/N clenches his fists, his protective instincts kicking in.

Y/N: Jesus, do you guys in the Spider Society have a maternity leave? I don't know if these are the hormones kicking in because of your baby or you're just bitter. Damn!

Anya, hoping to calm the situation, speaks softly.

Anya: We'll get him. Okay?

Jess: If Miguel finds out I let you come--

Gwen, desperation in her voice, interrupts.

Gwen: Don't tell Miguel. What if he sends me home?

Y/N, with resolve, steps closer to Gwen.

Y/N: I won't let him do that

Jess, with a smirk, addresses them.

Jess: How cute...the lovebirds.

Y/N scoffs, his frustration evident.

Y/N: You used to be cooler a couple of months ago.

LYLA: I got him!

The map highlights a specific point.

LYLA: Earth-50101. What do you wanna do?

Jess: LYLA, alert the local spider, tell him Gwen, Y/N, and Anya will meet him there.

The urgency in Jess's voice is palpable as the team prepares to leave. The room is filled with a mix of emotions: determination, guilt, and a hint of hope

LYLA nods confidently.

LYLA: I'm on it.

Gwen breathes a sigh of relief.

Gwen: Thank you so much. I promise I will not let you--

Jess interrupts, her tone brisk.

Jess: Okay, you're welcome, shut up. You've got an hour to fix this. Or I can't help you

Jess's hologram blips out as a portal begins to materialize for Gwen, Y/N, and Anya. The swirling vortex hums with energy, casting an ethereal glow over the damaged apartment

Y/N looks out the open window, seeing right through Miles. He was so close to them, yet worlds apart. Y/N despises the idea that Miguel's rigid rules are keeping Miles from joining them

Not realizing that his friend was in front of him, Y/N delivers his final message

Y/N: I'm really sorry, Miles...goodbye.

Just as Y/N, Gwen and Anya enter the portal, Miles makes himself visible. He stands alone, staring at the empty space where his friends had been. A sense of isolation washes over him. He turns to look out at Brooklyn, his home, the only place he's ever truly known

As the portal behind him begins to close, the finality of the moment hits him. The portal's shimmering edges pull inward, sealing the gateway between dimensions. Miles feels a rush of adrenaline, a wild thought crossing his mind

Maybe he should go with them...

The countdown begins in his mind.

3... 2... 1...
