Trust The Beast

Sarina's P.O.V.

As I slowly regain some of my consciousness, the first thing that I can think of is, Am I dead?

Beep
Beep
Beep

"Oh goddess it's a nightmare!" I groan.

One of the first things I notice is the smell of cleaner wafting in my nose, I rapidly blink open my eyes, curious to know where I'm at. I fully open my eyes, surprised I'm greeted with not a bright room, but a dimly lit one.

Unlike the first time I woke up in the oddly smelling room I didn't feel as tight as I did before, my body could still wiggle and move. I was definitely going to take advantage of it and try to get the hell out while I still could. I slowly raise up out of a bed, still feeling some tightness, but not completely like earlier. It's the same room as earlier, only I'm not alone this time.

My breath hitches, the same two people as earlier are laying down near my bed. They both seem to be dead to the world, in other words completely asleep. Though instead of looking relaxed like you would expect one to look while they're asleep they seem to be stressed and worried about something.

I guess worrying about a kingdom will do that to you...

Could this be my chance at freedom?

I lift up the blanket, and throw my legs over the side of the bed. I look over to the side to make sure I didn't wake them up, beasts usually have extremely good hearing. Which is why it's impossible to escape from them, especially if you're made it to one of them it's like their entire bodies become in tune to yours and there's no way you can do anything without alerting them.

Since I didn't wake either of them up I slowly place both my feet on the cold, hard ground, attempting to stabilize myself on a pole near the bed.

As I'm about to take my first step, a clear tube catches my eye, the clear tube is attached to a bag with some kind of liquid on the pole I'm using for support. I pick up the tube and attempt to follow it, when I notice the tube is connected to me.

Could they be trying to poison me?

But that makes no sense to me considering the fact that I actually feel better than I usually do now what I think about it.

With a final decision I quickly yank out the clear tube, surprised to find a small needle on the other side. With another push off the bed I slowly make my way to the door I remember all those people coming from, it must be the way out of the dreadful room.

Being fully aware of a shifters hearing ability's I make as little noise as possible. Once I make it to the door I make a small happy dance, and go for the door handle,

Oh thank the heaven its unlocked. Wasting no more time in the creepy room I open the door and dart down the hallway. I pass a few beasts along the way, I lower my head and my gaze, as to avoid any confrontation I may encounter.

Surprisingly enough there are no altercations just a few curious glances thrown my way. A few beasts went into a blurry eyed state meaning they were contacting another beasts with their mind.

At the end of the hallway I'm currently walking down I notice a set of sliver doors, a possible exit from the build I dash towards them. When I get to them, I notice they have no handles, but there is a button next to them, taking a leap of faith I push the button.

I hear a slight ding before the doors open up, I hesitantly step inside, when inside I notice another wall of buttons, hitting one at random, the small room I'm in starts to feel funny as if it was moving.

Within a minute or so the doors open back up again and I'm greeted with another hallway, barley any doors can be seen, and this looks more like the pack's office and less like the healers office from before.

I walk down the hallway as fast as I can with out further inuring myself, when I turn the corner I come face to face with a floor to celling window.

"Woah", I gasp unable to hide my shock.

Its gorgeous, I've never seen the capital before, and its just so enchanting, especially right now as the sun peaks over the clouds. Now I can definitely see why most beasts what to live in the capital, its beautiful.

As I start to get lost in the view thinking of what my life would have been like if I wasn't born as a spiritless, when a thunderous roar quickly shakes me from my daydreaming, unsure of what to do, I quickly dart of in the direction of the sliver doors.

Once I get into the small box the silver doors lead to, a small sigh escapes my lips. I once again feel safe in my own private bubble. The feeling of safety quickly vanishes when another roar shakes the building.

The sliver doors open once again, and a sense of dread and fear washes over my body immediately.

"How could you loose her?!", a thunderous voice yells.

I slowly turn the corner, needing to find a way out of the building before this beast looses control and does something I'll regret.

Sniff

Sniff

The hairs on the back of my neck stand at attention, I don't have a moment to process what's happening before I'm being sandwiched between two very large males, the same one's from the dimly lit room.

Once I'm able to comprehend what's happening i quickly spring into action, I try and jerk out of their hold.

"Let me go!", I shout.

"Please don't fight us, you'll only hurt yourself more", one says concern, I think lacing his voice.

I slow down for a brief moment, confused by not only his words but the tone of his voice. No, its a trap, they are trying to trick me.

"No! You're just tricking me!", I yell back once I've regained my focus.

"Trust us," the other one pleads.

"No never! Why would I trust the people that are trying to poison me?", I question.

"What? No, of course not, were trying to help you", The first one explains.

"Impossible beasts would never try to help a spiritless", I say while struggling in their grasp.

"They would if you're their mate", the second concludes.

At that final word I freeze completely, 'mate'. It wasn't a mistake or a fluke earlier I had actually heard them call me mate. They just confirmed it, I had my suspicions but they confirmed it.

No, that can't be right, I'm a spiritless, everything I've been taught tells me that I should never have a mate. I slowly look up to the two beasts holding me, 'huh, their identical' is the only thing that comes to my mind.

"We're going release you now, okay?" the first one asks.

I numbly nod my head, still not fully process what was happening. They both let go of me but still remain at an arms length away from me. I would guess they still don't fully trust me not to run away.

"Okay so slight introductions, I'm Enderson and he's Garreth what's your name mate?" Enderson politely.

I don't answer him, I just kind of blankly stare at him. Still trying to process everything that I had just happened, there was so much I needed to process it was gonna take me a minute or two and I didn't feel like having a nice conversation with these two guys.

"Huh, well okay that's fine you can tell us when your ready", Garreth says, in an understanding tone.

"Okay but before we explain anymore of this or ask anymore questions, we need you to trust us, Okay mate?", Enderson asks.

"Why would I trust a beast that wants nothing more than to kill me?" I boldly ask.
