Tea?

Sarina's P.O.V.

"Well this definitely isn't my room" I say out loud.

"Oh good my Lady you're awake" a feminist voice calls, and I instantly recognize her.

"Hello again" I greet cheerfully.

"Good morning my Lady" she greets back.

"Um not that I'm not thrilled to see you again, but what's your name?"I ask

"Oh silly me! I must have forgot to tell you!" She with way to much energy for this early in the morning. And still not answering my question.

"You going to tell me....or?" I ask.

"Oh it's Stephanie, or Steph for short" she finally answers.

"Well Steph, what's the plan for today?" I ask

"I hesitate to tell you, it's not that good" she mumbles.

"It's okay I can take it just rip off the bandaid" I tell her preparing for the worst.

"Tea." Is all she states.

"Huh? What do you mean tea?" I ask not sure I heard her correctly.

"Not just any tea, tea with the Duchess and other high court officials" she corrects.

I squint my eyes at her,"Really? Why?"

"What do you mean 'why'? It's common for the higher women to have tea and gossip paractically daily" she explains.

"Daily!" I shout, surprise and sudden horror at possibly having to see the Duchess every single day.

"Practically, and no one said you had to go to everyone of them" she corrects.

"Oh thank you... now do I still have to go to this one?" I ask praying for a 'no'.

"Unfortunately....YES" she states rather sternly.

"You're starting to sound like my mother" I comment.

"Fine by me, now be a good a child and go get dressed" she says while handing me another dress similar to yesterdays.

And only then it dawns on me," who undressed me yesterday?" I suddenly blurt out, no doubt my eyes are ready to pop out of my skull.

"Calm down it was just me" Steph explains, and thankfully it does calm me down.

I go to change into the dress she handed me, but as I put it on I realize it's not a dress but more like this giant green thing that I wouldn't be caught dead in.

Reluctantly I put it on, surprised to see it doesn't I look too bad on me, but I still have a few more questions for Stephanie.

"What in the world Steph?" I boldly ask.

"Yeah okay this isn't my fault, one thing I forgot to tell you is that these tea's have themes, todays theme is green dress-"

"Clearly" I grit out interrupting her.

"Sorry" she mouths.

"Agh it's fine, this is totally fine... I'm just going to have tea in a room full of women that don't like me and I look like a vegetable" I say exasperated.

"Yeah about that, you're kinda..."

"Kinda what?" I ask narrowing my eyes at her.

"Late." She states with a small nervous smile.

Crap

I just stare blankly at her before we burst into motion and are now running through multiple coradoors trying to get to the tea room.

"It's just up a head" I hear Steph shout from behind me, I realize she probably can't come with me,

In one swift motion I burst through the doors, and am greeted with a beautiful room, and an ugly scowling face.

Duchess Victoria.

I quickly right myself trying to make it seem like I was late on purpose, but in reality the damage was done.

"Hello your majesty", The Duchess greets me, an ugly scowl plastered across her face.

I glance around at the other women, some have a similar look to the Duchess while a few others look bored. One girl though has a bright welcoming smile, I go to sit next to her.

"So your majesty, do you know when your coronation will be?" The Duchess asks, arching a thin brow in my direction.

"Oh well I'm not sure" I mumble not entirely sure what to say to that type of question. I mean it feels like I just got here, I want to adjust before anything major happens.

"Oh poor dear, perhaps the Kings don't plan to go through with it" an older women says from beside the Duchess.

"Perhaps" the Duchess sneers.

"Actually The Kings have EVERY intention of being with me." I state loud and clear, I rufuse to be pushed around again.

"Really? Then why haven't they introduced you to the public yet?" She asks.

"I Uh- I don't know" I mumble feeling self doubt creeping back in.

"The Kings are probably going to introduce her at the Gala in a few days!" The girl next to me piped in excitedly.

A few mumbles of agreement could be heard before another piped in and said," that's probably why commoners are allowed to come this year, to really get the word out".

Clearly unhappy with how the conversation had turned to be in my favor the Duchess started fuming, an ugly scowl spread across her face. And she started turning bright red. But an idea seemed to pop in to her delirious head, because a smile soon replaced her scowl.

"She's a spiritless!" She shouted as she sprung out of her chair and pointed an accusatory finger on my direction.

A few gasps could be heard from around me, now I've never been ashamed of being a spiritless but a full room looking at me horrified made me wish the ground would open up and swallow me whole.

"How wonderful!" A women says brightly.

We all turn towards where the voice came from, an old women that looked as if she was around during the last kings reign stood in the doorway.

"Who the hell are you?" The Duchess asked.

The women hobbled over to her, and whispered,"You should watch your tone in the presence of royalty".

A look of horror crossed over the Duchess's face, and a small feeling of gratitude filled me. But was soon replaced with dread, she was royalty...

She was either the Kings mother or the Queens. She slowly made her way over to me, the girl that was sitting next to me kindly got up to give her seat to her. She mumbled a sweet 'thank you'.

She glanced at me before turning her full attention to the rest of the room,"You may leave" she says.

The older women in the room graciously stood up, when they saw that most of the younger women hadn't moved they yanked a few of them up. The rest soon followed through, even the Duchess begrudgingly got up and left the room.

Leaving me alone with this old women.

I didn't know I had unconsciously lowered my head, until she said,"My dear a Queen must always keep her head up, or else her crown may fall off".

"Madam if you don't mind me asking who are you exactly?" I hesitantly ask hoping to not offend her.

"Oh silly me, I'm Elizabeth, I'm your mates grandmother. It seems no one really remembers me anymore so I don't blame you for not knowing" she explained.

"Oh, your the former Kings mother?" I asked hoping she could be an ally not an enemy.

"Yes." She states proudly. "Dear there's no need to look so terrified, I'm absolutely thrilled about meeting you!" She burst with excitement.

"Thanks but, uh why exactly?"

"Because your going to fix what's wrong, and make a marvelous Queen" she states proudly, like a mother would I suppose.

Definitely an ally

"So why exactly are you here? If you don't mind me asking."

"Oh I'm here for the party, your coming out party to be exact". She explains.

Huh?!
