Party of the Century
Sarina's P.O.V.
"A party?!" I asked completely baffled.
"Judging by your reaction, I can tell you weren't aware of this," she says simply cautiously eyeing me.
"Clearly!" I say raising my voice, a sense of empedending doom starts to creep down my spine. I take a breath trying to recompose myself, "If you'll excuse me I need to have a word with my mates, you wouldn't happen to know where they are would you?" I ask gritting my teeth.
"Oh I do believe they are in a meeting with their advisors", she responds a small smirk playing on her face as if she was aware of the hell I was going to raise.
"Great, I'll be off then", I say before turning and stomping off in a direction, hopefully bringing me closer to the meeting room they were currently in.
After wandering down countless corridors, my anger was only increasing. I was lost, but I had hell to raise. But it seemed like my luck was turning around because out of the corner of my eye I found,"Roger!" I shout down the hallway.
He promptly turns and straightens to face me, I slightly jog to catch up to him, when I finally do I'm met with a disapproving glare.
"What?" I ask innocently not knowing what I had done to incurre his disapproval.
"A proper Lady must never run to meet someone, you must go to them grasiously and elegantly. Not to mention you are to be Queen everyone will simply come to you", he stated matter of factly.
"Sorry" I mumble.
"Your majesty is there something you needed?" He asked sounding rather annoyed.
"Oh yeah, where are Enderson and Garreth?" I ask my anger bubbling to the surface. And only increasing at the attitude Roger had suddenly had.
"They are in the meeting room, I'm actually on my way back there now. Shall I escort you?" He asks curiosity gleaming in his eyes.
"You may" I say, rather spitefully if I say so myself.
An awkward silence fills the space between us as we walk down a few more hallways, passing several servants clearly preparing for something big.
Curiosity picked at me, I wondered if Roger knew what they were planning or if he knew about the party in the first place.
"Hey Roger...."
"Yes your highness?" He asks keeping his eyes trained on the hallway and a neutral expression dawning his face.
"What are the servants preparing?" I ask watching him closely to gauge his reaction.
He slightly falters in his step, "I don't know what you're talking about" he denies.
"Are you sure? You're clearly high up so surely you must know" I pester, remembering what Stephanie said about clearance and knowledge going hand in hand in the palace.
"Sarina don't make me loose my job." He slightly pleads.
"Why would you loose your job over this?" I ask my curiosity only growing more.
We stop at a set of doors, and Roger takes a deep breath in before responding to my question."The Kings wish for it to be a surprise-"
"Well they are about to learn that I hate surprises" I ground out before pushing the set of doors open and walk straight into a meeting.
The second I walk in I noticed Garreth and Enderson who were sitting at the head of the table stood up with concern plastered all over their faces.
"What's wrong?" Garreth asked walking over towards me.
"Party." Is all I managed to grit out.
Garreth immediately shoots Roger a dirty look, while Enderson ushers the other people out of the room, Roger used the disorder to slip out the door leaving me alone with the two liars.
"Why did you lie to me?" I ask not directing the question at a specific person. Because in reality they were both at fault here.
"We didn't lie," Enderson responds, not looking at me but at the door he just closed.
"Lying by omission is still a lie, my mother taught me that" I said, towards Garreth, he was the only one looking at me anyway.
When neither one said anything more I decided I would and I did,"Are you going to explain yourselves?" I asked.
After a silent moment of hesitation, they both look at each other nod and finally look at me.
"Yes... would you like to sit?" Garreth asked going and pulling out one of the chairs at the table, the thought of sitting instantly brought me to the throbbing pain in my feet.
Damn heels, I'll kill the bastard that invented these damn things
I don't respond but merely take the seat that was offered, Garreth and Enderson follow suit.
"Explain" I practically demand, surprise and pride I think glint in their eyes.
"It was meant to be a surprise... we want you to be formally introduced... and-"
"And we want to set the date for your coronation!" Enderson interrupts.
"Yeah that" Garreth clarifies rolling his eyes at Enderson.
You know that moment when your life is falling apart and all you can do is laugh, yeah I'm just about there so that's what I did, I laughed.
"Are you alright? I thought you were upset?" Garreth asked concern making his voice thick.
"Oh I am, but I can't focus on that now! No now I have to panic about a party! Where I'm the guest of honor apparently!" I shout bursting out of my chair.
"Okay we're sorry! We thought it would be a fun suprise!" Enderson says raising his voice and also standing out of his chair.
"I hate surprises!" I shout.
"Well we didn't know that!" Garreth defends, and now we're all standing around and yelling at each other.
"You shouldn't assume you butt munch!" I yell back.
Garreth just looks at me in shock, "Butt munch?" He asks before trying to stifle a grin. Enderson however wasn't so successful because a second later he burst out laughing.
"What's so funny asshat?" I ask which makes him sober up quite quickly, but also makes Garreth start laughing hysterically.
And soon enough I'm caught in the middle of Garreth and Enderosn going back and forth, throwing out the most ridiculous nicknames imaginable.
"Well this certainly wasn't how I expected to find you" a female voice calls from the doorway.
"Elizabeth!" I say surprised to see her.
"Hello dear, did you properly raise hell?" She asks, making two confused expressions appear on Garreth and Endersons faces.
"Nana, when did you get here?" Garreth asks, clearly they weren't informed of her arrival. Even though I'm pretty sure and one that saw her at tea was already gossiping about her.
"Not to long I was just heading up to my room, gotta get my beauty sleep the gala is only in two days!" She says excitedly.
"So long my dears" she says before walking away.
My anger coming back at full force,"Two. Days!" I shout.
"Uh yes...?" Enderson nervously responds.
"When we're you going to tell me?" I ask not seeing any logic in there thinking anymore.
"Tonight. At dinner" Garreth responds," speaking of which were late!" He says changing the subject and proceeding to drag me out of the room.
"Wait I'm still mad here!" I shout as I try to pry his hand off of my wrist.
"You won't be once you've had food" Enderson promises.
"Fine but it better just be upstairs" I grumble, ultimately just deciding to go along with chaos.
"Yup, we'll be making dinner tonight... you'll love it!" Garreth promises.
"And if I don't will you cancel the party?" I ask honestly, I saw them both flinch. I know it was uncalled for but they had to learn not to do things behind my back or who knows what they could end up doing in the future.
"No, but what's it going to take for you to forgive us?" Enderson answer's.
"I'm not sure... but you must understand I didn't grow up here I'm not sure how I'm supposed to act or speak... and it felt like you were hiding something from me" I said not realizing we had finally reached our private kitchen.
"I'm truly sorry, we didn't know, but we should have..." Garreth said but seemed as if he wanted to say more.
They both exchanged a glance, but brushed it off and started working on dinner, I figured what ever it was I'd yell at them later for it.
After all I was tired and hungry, I was to busy hanging out with Elizabeth and the tea party had no food to actually get any food earlier.
"I want chicken" I blurt out.
"Sure, any particular way?" Enderson asks pulling out a chicken the size of my head from the freezer.
How convenient...
"Why did you have a chicken ready to go?" I ask slightly suspicious.
"The fridge is always stocked, I'm amazed you haven't dug through it yet" Garreth explains somewhat shocked that I hadn't pillaged through the kitchen.
"Well no one's left me alone long enough to go through it" I grumble out.
And that's how the rest of the evening went, the argument long forgotten, until the next time those two idiots would mess up...
"Alright I'm heading off to bed..." I say getting ready to head back to my room.
"Sar, do you wanna sleep in our room tonight?" Garreth asked hesitantly, Enderson looked however to be alive with excitement.
"Uh not tonight" I respond hazily.
"Soon?" Enderson asks.
"Soon".
