I sighed as I closed my textbook as quickly as I opened it . For some reason, this trip that Tolu proposed has been on my mind all day. I already asked my mom, and she unfortunately said yes, making it hard for me to gaslight myself into thinking she is the reason I'm not going on the trip. The trip honestly sounds fun and it'd be nice to spend the short break with them instead of spending it alone rotting away in my room , it's just that I can't stop contemplating on wether or not it makes sense for me to go on this trip,because even though they are nice and keep me company that doesn't mean we're friends yet .what does it mean to have a friend that's a question I've never been able to answer. It's kinda difficult to answer such a question when everyone you surround yourself are constantly trying to impress and get close to you just so their parents can be close to your parents. All my life, I've only ever been the daughter of Mr Manu and never just Eleanor. sigh I walked over to my drawer and picked up the project slip Tolu and I were supposed to work on well I guess I can go ,maybe I'll be able to get Tolu so we can work on it together,and maybe I could also ask Haru for that drawing of me he promised to finish

I got out of my car dragging my suitcase with me, then waving goodbye to the driver. Anne texted me their location,apparently we driving in an old van he elder brother owned,with that description I expected something somewhat old and kinda busy but what I didn't expect was for it to look like it came straight out of a creepy Scooby-Doo episode.
"Eleanor!"Anne screamed with excitement, announcing my presence as she grabbed my bag and helped me put it in the trunk . Her burst of excitement makes my want to smile and cry at the same time, it's been long since someone was genuinely excited to see me there was once a little girl that was excited to see me
"Wow, your hair is gorgeous. Can I touch it?" Haru asked as he proceeded to put his fingers into my hair. Since it was a vacation I decided to switch things by adding a little bit of red extensions to my hair ,I don't usually do things like this because I like to keep my hair and style classy but today and only today I decided to try something new.
"Oh, I thought you didn't want to come," Tolu said nonchalantly behind Haru
"I never said I didn't want to come," I said, raising a brow. How did he know I was contemplating on not coming
"I just wasn't expecting to see you,"Tolu said while shrugging
"Am I not welcomed?"I replied with a tone matching his . What the heck is his problem? Does he not want me here?
"No no don't take him seriously,he's not himself right now , come on let's get you in the car " Haru interrupted while placing his warm hand on my shoulders and softly pushing me into the van
"I'm driving!" Tolu announced
"No don't worry I'll drive" Haru countered quickly,I half expected Tolu to insist but he looked like he was giving it some thought,almost like he was remembering something then he shaked his head and just decided to let Haru drive . Tolu sat in the front seat next to Haru while Anne and I chatted away in the back seat.

I brought out my camera as I was taking pictures of the beautiful scenery . I would have loved to say that they journey so far has been as beautiful as the new, but that would be lying because Tolu has been a complete pain in my butt the entire ride . I don't even understand why. Just a few weeks ago, we were getting along , and at some point, he just stopped talking to everyone, and now he is being a total nuisance to me .

After a while of driving, Haru started to look a little bit tired, so I suggested we check into the nearest hotel to which everyone agreed to .

It was about 11pm when we found a hotel to check into , we quickly finished the check-in process because everyone was beyond tired

"Goodnight guys," I say, yawning as I was carrying my bag and getting ready to leave for my room

"But why do you guys want to go to bed anyways?" Tolu said in a slightly bored tone . What kind of stupid question was that

"Umm, maybe because it's 11pm and everyone is tired?"

"Nope,you're the only one who's tired,You should probably get some sleep. Judging by the heavy bags under your eyes, it looks like you sincerely need it, "Tolu said snarkingly . I focus my eyes on both Haru and Anne and they both looked very sleepy , Haru has been driving all day with little to no break and Anne fell asleep a couple of times in the van and still looks tired. It's either Tolu is somewhat blind or I'm seeing things

"Come on guys , it's says that there is a cafe in this hotel . Let's check it out,"Tolu said excitedly, looking at the map of the hotel. Haru is yawning while Anne is stretching. How does he not see that they are tired

"Umm, Tolu, are you sure you don't want to go to bed? I mean, you didn't get any sleeplast night, " Anne asked with a soft tone, almost like she was trying not to upset him

"I don't need to sleep. I'm not tired at all . Plus, even if I was, why would we leave for a vacation only to sleep most of it away? " Tolu said as a matter of fact . I thought at least one of them would protest, but they just looked at each other and sighed almost like they had twin telepathy, and both of them nodded in agreement

"Do you want to come, Eleanor?" Haru asked . My initial response was going to be a straight no, but I didn't want to look selfish, so I decided to go with them I regret this already .
