Tears flowed instantly the moment I saw them sharing a tight embrace.

I stepped out quietly and held my mouth careful not to make a sound.

But, the nurse whom I had talked to earlier called me and I jolted in surprise.

I noticed from my peripheral vision that Matrix and Liz pulled from their heated embrace and he called for me.

But I was quick to run away.

Crying loudly because of heartache,I ran for the nearest exit but my body fainted and all I could see was black when I hit the floor.

Moments past and in the wee hours of the night, I woke up with a heavy heart.

A hand was enclosed on top of mine and I saw Matrix' fluffy head bent down on my bed.

I automatically caressed my tummy and my movement must have caused him to wake up.

"Babe!" Matrix' exclaimed with a sound of relief in his voice.

"Ang babies naten.." I said in a small voice.

Matrix wiped his tears and smiled at me.

"Our twins are safe. God, I'm so sorry! It's not what you think! Liz was so down and I only consoled her that's why you found us in that position." Matrix explained, his tears flowing nonstop also. "Please believe me. Wala akong balak na saktan ka."

I just stared at him not knowing what to feel.

I looked away and touched my tummy.

"I will forgive you but I don't know if I could bring myself to trust in you." I said and bit my lips to keep myself from crying hard.

Suddenly, a doctor came with a nurse to check my vitals.

"It's best not to stress out mommy. It will have a great effect on her pregnancy. It might cause miscarriage if she continues experiencing stress." The doctor advised and we both nodded. "I suppose you already have your OB? Great! Have your regular monthly pre-natal check-up. You're carrying twins. Your OB's advises might come in handy as you reach your due date."

"Yes, doc. Thank you." I said and managed a tight smile.

"Thanks, pre." Matrix said and bumped fist with him. "I owe you one."

"What are dudes for? Behave mister. You'll be discharged tomorrow." Doctor winked at me and went out with the nurse.

I sighed and stared at the ceiling.

"Nagugutom ka ba? Ano gusto mong kainin? Bibili ako sa baba." Matrix asked.

I was about to shook my head when my stomach growled in response.

"I'll just have porridge if available." I said. "Thanks"

"Okay. I'll be right back." He said and kissed my forehead before leaving me alone in my room.

I was in my hospital gown so I searched for my bag.

I found it on top of the dresser beside me.

I pulled out my phone and instantly  received more than a dozen message notifications.

Most coming from our group chat which Madonna suggested for us to do.

She named it, "apat na mata squad".  We laughed at her crazy antics.

I was too engrossed with our Group Chat that I did not saw Matrix coming in with a plastic of foods.

"Hey. How are you feeling?" Matrix asked and unloaded the foods on my portable table.

"Gutom lang." I said after replying to the girls.

"Here. I brought some rice and your favorite dumpling. You'll need food for our kids." Matrix said shyly.

I looked at him and started to smile.
"Kain na tayo." I said and unwrapped the foil of the cup and the smell of porridge filled my nose.

I was hungrier than ever. Matrix even gave me his fill of noodles when he saw how hungry I was.

"Hala. Sorry! Hindi ka na nakakain ng maayos sakin." I apologized while he looked at me in amusement.

"Ganyan ka pala magbuntis. Ang takaw." Matrix chuckled.

"Ikaw kaya magdala ng kambal!" I answered and we laughed.

The awkward atmosphere vanished and we found ourselves comfy and cozy again.
