Eight

I strummed the strings on my guitar frustratingly.

"Arrgh!" I groaned and placed the guitar on my bed, irritated. Frowning, I removed my eyeglasses and wiped my tears off my eyes.

I walked to were my disc player is at and had my earphones stuck on my ears.

Upbeat songs of Bruno Mars, Craig David and Usher filled my mind as I lied down on my bed.

The news about Dad's plan of running for Senator is just too much to take. I mean, threats have happened. Our mansion has been arsoned and up to now, the detective has not updated us yet on who dunnit and whatnot.

He has served our town well for quite some time and his constituents have been loyal to him. But I couldn't be more trusting.

The incident happened. Who knew if someone might be planning something?

My class ended earlier today so I had the chance to go home and work on my hobbies.

Was able to edit on my song cover but decided against it.

I sang at my old school and enjoyed it for some time. But as I grew older, I prefer to lie low and stay at the background being a composer.

In addition, I love everything aesthetic. Nature. Pastel colors. Anything pleasing to the eyes. That's when my love for photography began.

I find DLSR camera too expensive for my taste so I contented myself with just my cellphone. I made sure to learn some basics and luckily, the photos came out good.

So, back to the story, I dozed off and woke up to someone sitting on my couch across my bed.

"Oh shit." I gasped when I saw who it was. "Alam mo yung privacy?" I hissed at him.

The guy kept a straight face and I rolled my eyes. "May pupuntahan tayo. Magbihis ka.", he said and I mentally whacked his nape.

I glanced at the wall clock and removed my earphones.

6:30 PM, it read.

"Fine. Just get out." I whined and he went out of my room.

I grabbed my towel and took a 10-minute shower, wore my khaki shorts and nude colored shirt. My go-to sling bag where my IDs and some cash are stood lying on my dresser. Thankful, I have my cellphone just on top of it made it easier for me to snatch it out.

I was on the last step already when I saw Boe straightening his  utterly neat polo shirt.

He automatically opened the door for me while I took one last glance at my loft.

"Already unplugged everything, in case you're wondering." He said as I entered the backseat of the car. Mumbling my thanks, he nodded and walked to the driver's seat.

I sighed and let the silence enveloped the air. I had no idea where he was taking me but I didn't even bother asking.

Somehow, I trusted him.

Somehow, I felt safe around him.

"Ask away." His voice resonated inside the car and I blinked at hin at the rearview mirror. "I know you're curious."

"Saan tayo pupunta?", I asked immediately.

"To somewhere that's been bugging you lately." I raised my eyebrow at his words when his mobile phone rang. "We're on our way. 15 minute, tops." He said to someone over the phone and hang up. He put it back to the holder and sped up making me held on to the seatbelt.

"Would you slow it down?" I yelled at him at the backseat as he maneuvered the car from the unusually clean road we are paving in.

"Got my timer on, sorry, baby." He chuckled like some madman.

Suddenly, I began to fear for my life.

Is he high? On drugs?

So much for trusting him with my life.

I'm gonna take back my words!
