No POV

Naruto watched Sasuke as he pounded his fist into a tree, chipping away at it with each punch. He then thought back to that lunch they had almost a full year ago.

Flashback no Jutsu

Sasuke had finally finished catching his breath. He stood up straight and walked over to his sensei. Naruto gave Sasuke a smile and said, "Alright, I think that's it for our first lesson. Let's go get some food. You can ask your questions on the way."

Sasuke nodded and started right away, "How did you get so powerful so young? And why is the hokage ordering ANBU to train you when we're supposed to wait until the academy?"

Chuckling, he replied, "Well, after I was kicked out of the orphanage when I was four, I stumbled upon this library. It was actually alive and it taught me most of the things I know. While inside, I always awaken a kekkei genkai. Which is why the hokage is sending ANBU to train me. You see, this kekkai genkai is super secret." He stopped walked and leaned down a bit while saying, "You've gotta keep quiet about it from everyone. And you can't tell anyone I'm teaching you. Or else they'll all think your stupid because they think I am stupid. I have to make them think that for mine and their safety. So, will you keep this secret?" Naruto then held up his pinky to signal a promise.

Sasuke smiled at being trusted with something so important, so he wrapped his own pinky around Naruto's and said, "I promise!"

Naruto grinned at this and said, "Well, my kekkai genkai allows me to copy the kekkai genkai from other people. I copied Itachi's Sharingan, which is why he's teaching me how to use it and mature it correctly." He then pointed to his eyes and flowed chakra into them as he said, "See?"

Sasuke's eyes widened and his mouth dropped open as he stared at cerulean blue eyes with three tomoe in them. Naruto then said, "When I created those targets earlier, I used another kekkai genkai." Naruto then stood up straight again and started to walk.

In his stupor, Sasuke stood there, staring at Naruto's retreating back, before shaking himself out of it and running to catch up to him. 'He's like a puppy.' Naruto thought at that moment.

Flashback no Jutsu Kai!

Naruto smiled as and now taller Sasuke walked up to him and gave him a smile. The blonde then looked back over at the tree and saw it's destruction. So he took Sasuke's hands in his own and looked at the knuckles. They were bleeding again.

Naruto sighed and said, "You really should were gloves or wrappings Sasuke. You have to continue training after I'm gone, so I won't be able to heal these."

Sasuke giggled and said, "I will wear them only after you leave. Not a second before Naruto-sensei."

Naruto grinned and said, "Such an unruly student. I hope you won't be this way for the academy teachers."

Sasuke smiled at the thought, then he said, "I won't be. I'm only this way with you, Sensei."

Naruto sighed and said, "Alright. Well, now that those are all healed up, I want to see how good your aim has gotten."

Sasuke nodded before pulling out a kunai and throwing it at a single leaf on a tree a meter away. He then threw a shuriken that hit the kunai into a second and third leaf before sticking to the target.

Naruto grinned at his student and pat him on the head. "Nice job Sasuke." He then gave Sasuke a soft smile and said, "Well, the time is up for today.  I'm leaving in five days. I'll really miss teaching you. Promise me you'll get strong enough to spar me by the time I get back."

Sasuke smiled softly as well, eyes beginning to water, he said, "Of course Sensei."

Naruto then hugged Sasuke and said, "Let's get one last meal in the day I leave. Alright?"

Sasuke nodded into Naruto's shoulder, trying to keep the tears from falling. Then Naruto pulled away and said, "Well, I'll see yah then."

Naruto then shunshined away, leaving Sasuke to pick up the kunai. Which he started right away, knowing they were a small gift from his sensei.

Naruto had shunshined to the Hokage's office because he'd scheduled a lunch with him for the day. He would be turning seven and leaving in 5 days, so he wanted to make sure everything was in line for when he left.

When he arrived, he saw that the hokage still sat at his desk, doing the dreaded paperwork. He then sniggered a bit at the sight and said, "You know, you could get that finished ten times faster with shadow clones."

The hokage nodded solemnly and stated, "Last time I tried, I was nearly killed by those clones after making them do what I didn't want to. They are still me."

Naruto chuckled at the idea of clones attacking their master and said, "Maybe if you taught your clones how to behave, they wouldn't have done that. Mine are always working the metal and clothes and wood and they never complain. They, in fact, find it fun."

Sarutobi shook his head and said, "Never mind the paperwork. Let's just go get that food. I'm sure the kitchen has finished preparing our lunch by now."

Naruto nodded and followed out of the room, into the dining area. He took his seat and said, "I can't believe its only five days until I leave."

The hokage sputter at this, eyes going wide. He then demanded, "What are you talking about Naruto?!"

Naruto looked surprised for a moment, then contemplative, before realization dawned on his face. With a chuckle, he said, "I can't believe I forgot such an important thing. For the past 2 years, I have been planning to leave Konoha on my seventh birthday. That way I can come back on my eighth and start the academy. Another advantage of me leaving is that I'll be able to collect kekkai genkai from all around the world."

The hokage sweatdropped and said, "That is a solid plan, but what if we need you back here for something important? And what if you need me? What if there's something important that comes up? Who's going to take care of you on your trip?Wh-"

Naruto put his hand up and sighed as the food was placed in front of them. Then he said, "Hokage-jiji, I don't need anyone to take care of me. And for companions, I'll have my summons. As for messages and emergencies, I can give you a reverse summon scroll for myself and a scroll of my shadow clones. I have this all planned out. I just need the documents to allow me to enter different places as I go."

The hokage gave a nod and was about to say something else, when a toad popped up right beside the table, with a man on top of it. Naruto recognized the man from the books he'd read and knew then and there who this man was. "Hmm, world-class pervert toad sage sannin. It's good to meet you. But you're interrupting our meal."

The white-haired man ignored him and turned to the hokage. He then said, "Who signed a contract with the toads without me knowing it?!"

Naruto raised his hand as Hiruzen pointed at him. The sage's mouth dropped to the floor as he said, "Ther is absolutely NO WAY this GAKI summoned Gamabunta on his first try! How old is he anyway? He doesn't even look old enough to be in the academy."

The hokage sighed and said, "Jiraya, that right there is Minato's son. He found out a few years ago after being inside the sentient library for a full year. He also has a few other secrets. He just told me that he plans on traveling the world for a year before coming back for the academy."

Jiraya blanched and stared wide eyes at this kid. He then forced himself to blink. Spotting the Kunai in Naruto's thigh pouch, he went to grab it. Naruto grabbed his hand before he could and said, "No pervert is gonna touch me. Got that Ero-sennin-san?"

He paled at Naruto's speed but grew angry at the comment. The blonde then pulled out the kunai from his pocket and said, "What did you want with my kunai?"

Jiraya pulled his hand away and said, "I've been seeing those for two years. They just came out of nowhere, and now it seems like every ninja uses them."

Naruto chuckled and nodded like it was a well-known fact. Then the sannin added, "They are very well made, yet they are so cheap. So beautiful, yet underappreciated."

The blonde chuckled and said, "Thanks for the compliments Ero-sennin-san."

The pervy sage looked confused by this, so Sarutobi said, "He uses shadow clones to make those weapons and sell them around the world. He also makes clothes and wooden items. He actually supplies the academy with their learning weapons and the ANBU with their new outfits."

Jiraya shook his head and said, "There is no way. My spy network told me the creator of those weapons is a retired jounin named-"

Naruto said the name at the same time. "Ogasawa Morie."

The old pervert paled and said, "That information to me a full year to get. How do you know it?"

Naruto smirked and replied, "Because I created it. It's my alias for the weapons part of my sales. If people knew the nine tails jinchuriki was making their weapons, they wouldn't buy them."

Naruto, finished eating, placed his kunai back in his pouch and stood to leave. "Hokage-jiji, I'll take my leave now. I only get four more days of training before my departure, so I would like to spend as much of that time training as I can."

Getting a nod from the old man, he shunshined out. Jiraya took a seat across from the hokage and said the old man said, "Jiraya, we have a lot to discuss."

Time Skip

Naruto had been training with Ken, Lea, Ao, and Gun when the old pervert showed up. They all got into their fighting stances, but Ken and I recognized him, letting the other three know he is no danger.

Jiraya then spoke up, "Wow, so that's where Ken went. Alright, kid, the hokage instructed me to spar with you to see what I can teach you."

Naruto sighed and turned to the four. He then nodded and they all disappeared before he turned around again and entered his battle stance.

Time Skip

Naruto sat on the ground, panting, while the toad sage stood before him, bathed in moonlight. In comparison to the sannin, he was still a child,  This boosted the sage's confidence while giving Naruto determination. He stood and said, "Teach me until I leave."

The guy just gave a contemplative face before saying, "Only if I can continue teaching you while you travel. I would really like to see you evolve while no one else can."

Naruto nodded at the prospect and said, "That sounds perfect! Thank you Ero-sennin-sensei!"

Jiraya sweatdropped at the new nickname and said, "I might have to leave at some points during our trip, so let's map out our path and design a timeline. That way, if I leave you alone for a bit, I won't have to track you to find you when I get back."

Naruto nodded and said, "Good plan. Though, I already planned my route and timeline. Let's go to my house and I can show you."

Jiraya nodded and started walking back towards town when Naruto stopped him. "If people see you walk into my home, they will become suspicious and start spreading roomers that could get to your enemies. I'll shunshin us there." With a nod from the old pervert, Naruto shunshined them both to his home.

Once there, Naruto quickly grabbed the map he'd marked and the list he'd made. Looking it over Jiraya nodded. Then he said, "I see, so you left 34 extra days in case we stay somewhere longer than scheduled or we run into some trouble?"

Naruto nodded and said, "And we'll have to be sure to hurry through the sound village because of Orochimaru."

Jiraya then asked, "Can I make a quick modification?" At a nod from Naruto, he turned the Akatsuki Base into 2 days rather than 10. "Now we have 42 extra days." Naruto gave him an inquisitive look so Jiraya says, "My spy network says something's up with those guys. I believe they are working on something devious so we should steer clear of them."

Naruto nodded and the went over the rest of the plan.

Agreeing on the map plan, Jiraya left and Naruto took his map back to his bedroom, where he undressed, changed into something comfortable, and went to sleep.

Time Skip

It was finally the day. Naruto turned Seven, so he was now preparing to leave. He packed up his scrolls inside of a larger one, set up a daily clone dispenser for the work, sealed all of his favorite weapons into another scroll, and packed everything else he'd need. Finally, he grabbed his map and placed all of his supplies on his bed.

He then quickly threw on his hideous jumpsuit and made his way over to Ichiraku's for one last hearty meal.

When he got there, Sasuke was sitting in his usual seat and Kakashi and Itachi and Yamato were all seated as well. He looked at all of them and smiled. The blonde couldn't've asked for a better going away party.

He took his usual seat and ordered his miso ramen. Teuchi asked what the occasion was that everyone was there, so he told him, "Well, I won't be here for a year. I'll come back on my eighth birthday and tell you how my adventure went over a bowl of your delicious ramen."

The aged man smiled and prepared the bowl. As he waited for his food, the people who taught him so much stood and made their way behind Naruto. He turned around just in time to be pelted with hugs in all directions.

He hugged them all back until they pulled away. Then they started talking one at a time. Kakashi went first. "Naruto, happy seventh birthday. It's sad that your leaving the village for a whole year, but I wanna give you a few gifts for your travels." Naruto grinned at this, so Kakashi pulled out a large box.

Naruto swiftly pulled it into his lap and opened it. Inside was 3 things. The first was a pair of goggles that had an orange tint. Then there was a dark blue face mask the same as Kakashi's current one. Finally, there was a hilt. Kakashi began to explain. "This," he pulled out the goggles, "belonged to a friend of mine who died when we were young. And this," he pulled out the face mask, "was the mask I wore until I grew too big for it. And finally," he pulled out the hilt, "this is a family heirloom." He channeled chakra into it and the blade appeared out of nowhere. "Just channel lightning chakra into it and you have a blade of lightning."

Naruto pulled on the items he could, then he put the blade into a scroll. Kakashi then took his seat again, leaving Naruto to look at his sensei's. Next came Yamato. He gave a genuine smile before saying, "Naruto, happy birthday. I'll miss teaching you." He then pulled out Naruto's gift from him. It was an ANBU mask that looked like a fox. He then said, "Even though you aren't ANBU as of yet, I still believe you should have an ANBU mask. I had it specially made for you. If you put it on, it'll make your hair go black and hide your scent."

Naruto nodded and placed it in another seal, separate from the hilt. Then Itachi was the only one left standing. He pulled out a small box and said, "Happy birthday Naruto. I will also say this is your graduation day from studying how to fully use the Sharingan. From what I see, you are a master of it." Naruto then opened the small box and was greeted with the sight of a necklace with three rings around it, and a paper crow covered in seals. Itachi then said, "The necklace is for good luck. And the crow will allow you to contact me anywhere, at any time."

Naruto nodded, fully understanding the usefulness of all of his gifts. Then he said, "Thank you. All three of you. You've taught me so much and now you even gave me useful tools." He then put on the necklace and placed the crow into another seal in the same scroll. Then he turned back around and saw a steaming bowl of ramen in front of him. He then pulled down his mask and started eating.

Once he'd finished, everyone else had as well. So he wiped off his mouth and place his mask on his face. Then he asked, "So, how much for the food?"

Teuchi smiled and said, "On the house Naruto. It is your birthday after all."

Naruto smiled as he stood up, only to be wrapped in a hug by the slightly smaller Sasuke Uchiha. The blonde could hear Sasuke mumble, "I wish you didn't have to go."

Naruto nodded and said, "I'll be back in a year. Don't worry. It'll all be okay." He then felt tears soak through to his shoulder and patted Sasuke's back. Then he said, "On my eighth birthday, wait for me at the front gate. That way you can be the first to see me after my return."

Sasuke pulled back and smiled, having already wiped off his tears on Naruto's jumpsuit. He then said, "Its a deal. I'll be waiting, Naruto-sensei."

Naruto chuckled one last time and said, "See yah," before he shunshined back to his apartment. In his apartment, he swung his bag over his back, took one last look at his home, then he shunshined to the gate.

At the gate, he was greeted by the old man and the old pervert. He smiled as he got to say one final goodbye. The old man then said, "I expect you to come back on time Naruto. No lollygagging." Naruto nodded to the old man respectfully. "Here." Sarutobi then handed Naruto a passport.

Naruto took it and hugged the hokage before pulling back and saying, "Goodbye jiji."

Hiruzen looked into Naruto's eyes and said, "Goodbye Naruto." Then Naruto was gone, and so was Jiraya.

Sarutobi looked at the dust clouds they left behind and chuckled before shunshining back to his office. 'Don't get into too much trouble, Naruto.'
