Melinda's POV

I stood on the icy beach on a cold winter once more, just as I had done so every year after that year. Skyline and Moonlight was beside me this time, giving me support as I watch another fairy officially take on my role as a nymph.

A small smile made a way to my face as I leaned into Skyline. We were still as close as ever all this year. Indeed, it did sadden me that the other four had fallen out with us as they moved to different parts of the world. Yes, we did talk sometimes but not often.

It was just the 3 of us friends on this island now with the strangers we would probably never know. I let out a shaky laugh as I watched the other nymphs – 2 of them currently – joined the fairy as she dodged the different waves and flew in the direction of the Ocean's heart.

Even still, I wondered if they would ever have the adventure that we did back then. This brought a smile to my face as I thought about our afternoon teas with Careful over every Friday. Back then, I would never guessed that she would be a Mother to us.

I let a tear of happiness fall from my right eye as the 3 of them celebrated the arrival of a new nymph, as the other 2 started telling the history of nymphs to the new nymph.

At that moment, I could almost see the other 4 nymphs smiling with us as they watched from all parts of this earth as someone else's chapter opens to a new page.

A chapter which legacy we renewed.
