Part 11 - Summoning Xigix's Protectors

Melinda's POV

We were all waiting for Moonlight's signal to appear at the heart of Xigix. Trust me, we all felt really anxious - appearing as nymphs for the first time and bringing back the nymph's magic to the city. This adventure has reached the climax for the nymphs and we hope it will be resolution for the citizens.

I'm not sure if it will be same for the TPs again though but whatever we are going through - It was and would be no fun. I could feel my inside churn as I wait for the room to light up, our signal from Moonlight as she raced to the heart of Xigix against time.

Laurel beside me was breathing deeply as we watched Moonlight zoom through Xigix to its heart - while dodging every single evil creature that was trying to get their paws on her. She blasted them, connected with their mind and even told them to keep out of her way. They listened mostly. Xigix was in a really bad shape.

The Sea, my home, was filled with nasty looking mutants and was badly polluted. The forest fronts were full of animals ready to attack anyone who comes near, toxic were being released by the cursed plants. People had evil spirits over them. It was just cruel. Xigix was literally being taken over through possession and over-population of evil.

Everyone who was not possessed had gone into hiding already, no one was fighting to protect their city. No one was even doing anything and it may sound mean but Moonlight did look crazy trying to go her way through the monsters. She was managing just find though, the monsters didn't even seem to look at her. It probably was because she brain-spelled them not to go near to her. It was part of her magic anyway.

I realised how the evil creatures were obsessed destroying Xigix and getting power. I found it really silly of them to do so and then suddenly the lights in the room went on. Blue first then purple then a swirl of colours but we all was ready once the final colour stroke - Black. Yes, what a colour for a signal but we didn't care, the colour didn't matter.

"Let's get going," Colette signalled us with her hands while trying to keep herself calm. The reason she seemed the most calm among the 6 of us was probably due to the fact that she was the Nymph of Emotions.

I was the worst though, the one always panicking and worrying. Laurel was pretty bad too, asking about every single little detail.

Skyline flew up beside me and sign, I had gotten quite close to her. Actually, I found out that we all were actually in the same school - Moonlight included.

I no longer treated any of them like friends or acquaintances but more like...they felt like they were the sisters I always wanted. The only reason we never really associated previously was probably due to the fact that we never really realised each other.

Skyline smiled at me as she took my hand and quickened our pace up to catch up with the other nymphs. We found ourselves zooming through the air and feeling the great rush of wind.

"You're behind us Mel," she told me with a smile and a titled head.

"Here goes nothing..." Laurel murmured, "Give us a start Colette."

Colette nodded, "Essence of happiness." She smiled as sparks burst from her hand. We stood in a circle and Cover started.

"Burst of Greens, "she smiled out. It is beautiful.

"Shimmer clo---" Skyline was cut off by a monster grabbing her by her waist but she manage to choke out - before being carried away - "--uds!"

Jessilyn gasped a little before nodding. We all knew she had to take care of herself until the spell complete - even Moonlight knew, she was looking at us worriedly as she flew after Skyline.

"Pureness of the soul," Jessilyn breathed out as she lit up the city's polluted atmosphere.

"Bright elements," Laurel spelled out before having to dodge the evil monsters.

"Ocean's Sound!" I finally said before the whole spell went up, lighting the city.

However, before we had time to cheer in joy, the darkness started covering the sky. Worry struck through our hearts then, and I glanced at Colette. We were all frowning, as the evil that we wiped out started coming back in greater numbers.

"Purity of Love," I almost heard Moonlight whisper as a midnight ball formed on her palms. Light shown once more as the words left her lips and all evil dissolved into mere liquid which reached up to our ankles. In disgust, we lifted ourselves from the ground with the magic we had and headed to join Moonlight.

We then saw the TPs running towards us but mostly towards Moonlight.

"You're the fairies!" Thomas pointed out in surprise at the sight of us and we knew...our day isn't over yet. We do indeed have a long explanation to give.

Urgh.
