Twelve

Balance ton Quoi - Angèle

Never in Yeosang's life has he ever imagined himself going to an arcade.

Maybe he forgot what it was at first when Joshua mentioned it, since it's just something that's foreign to him.

Now for the first time he's here; at a pretty one too with neon lights only outlining every corner of the place, with those cool old fashioned arcade games, a few workers walking around in roller skates and that cute seventies style outfits, along with the music as well to just fit the vibe of the place and make it contagiously happy.

Everything about this place felt as though a time machine sucked Yeosang back in time, and it actually....... Looked so nice.

This is an ambient he's never been around before; Its new and just...... He feels normal in a strange way.

It's so nice to feel young.

Wow he's been missing out.

"Come on!" Joshua giggles as he grabs his hand and drags him to the Pac-Man game, "Lets see if you can beat my high score."

It's Saturday and instead of going out to do some partying stuff, Joshua thought it would be a great idea to go out to an arcade.

Not just the two of them though, like a little date.

With Jimin too, and other friends of Joshua.

It's no surprise that Jimin was already smooching and flirting up a storm with one of the guys, maybe with one of the girls too from time to time, or both. However he's been avoiding Yeosang and that's enough relief that he can deal with at the moment.

At least Jimin finally listened.

While they all went off somewhere to their own separate games, Joshua literally had to teach Yeosang how to play this thing or use the handles and what the buttons are for. It's not like Joshua questioned it, if anything he found it cute that Yeosang is naïve to these things. Eventually after three tries and Joshua's encouraging squeaks, Yeosang got the hang of it and beat Joshua's record.

He knows for a fact that Joshua probably lied about it because it was way too easy. Most likely he probably just wanted Yeosang to feel nice that he got to beat it.

That's cute, something he would do.

It's strange really how Joshua is. He's an energetic fluff ball of joy, and not just the always happy type but just a joy to be around. He would listen to you when you speak by turning his whole body towards you, nodding when it's appropriate as he let's you finish. He goes along with the waves; Either he could be a clown and try to make you happy or he could be your emotional support, or just someone who's there if you don't like comfort.

He's easily adaptable to anything and that's what makes him really unique. Maybe that's why Yeosang doesn't really get bothered by the fact that he's talking to other people as well, since they're nothing official to begin with. They have stated that they're nothing more than just a fling, but seeing how happy Joshua gets around him just...... Feels too real.

It looks like he genuinely likes his company, even if it's just a fling.

That felt nice...... Feels nice to be appreciated by someone else, or have your existence mean a lot to them.

No wonder Jimin likes having him around. The two are complete opposites but it's something they both need in their lives; Each other.

Perhaps that's why Jimin did what he did as a kid to the supposed childhood friend. His sense of protection is always too blinding and even though he acts careless and selfish, he does have a heart for others.

At least for Joshua.

Being in this place just felt as though Joshua was glowing to this ambient. His smile grew a little wider as he continued to learn about these games, his eyes glimmer a bit brighter as the neon lights, even his laugh was much more hysterical while being with the whole group in general.

They're literally all like Joshua either way, so it makes sense.

Just feeding the same vibe.

Well except for Jimin of course.

He has a whole different vibe that definitely doesn't fit in to this sunshine of smiles, but it's mysteriously captivating in its own way.

Perhaps Yeosang would cast glances at Jimin from time to time, and he came to the conclusion that Jimin could do just the bare minimum and it would still catch attention just by anyone.

Whether it's rolling his eyes, adjusting his green silk bomber jacket or participate in playing the games, it's just all captivating to watch. Truth is, from appearance wise it looks as though he's never intrigued or interested in anything for those who can read underneath the lines.

Nothing that looks genuinely real at least.

No one can notice it that easily because Jimin has mastered the art of displaying a mask and hiding his emotions, but even him smiling looks evidently fake but can fool others so easily. Whatever emotion he displays in public isn't real, and that's concerning to think if Jimin genuinely feels anything in general.

Yet there's something that Yeosang always clings onto from Jimin that always gives him that slightest bit of closure to Jimin's actually character. Something that's not of fake smiles or words.

Something he couldn't hide so easily around him.

Fear.

Yesterday when they were at his apartment, when he shed his tears with that panic and fear spreading his eyes like wildfire it was almost like breathing fresh air.

Jimin hides his emotions so well, but when he finally displays those vulnerable and raw feelings just makes him look so human.

Maybe Yeosang's aggravation for him dwindled a centimeter after that, just to the acknowledgement that Jimin isn't entirely as false as he tries to be, but now he's so curious to how it would look just to see him happy.

Genuinely happy.

Not that closed lip smile that never reaches his eyes, but a true smile of happiness.

Has Jimin even ever been happy before?

Well that's something left only for Yeosang to wonder at the back of his mind.

Maybe that's why Yeosang likes pissing him off or get under his nerves because even if it's just for that second, light flashes in Jimin's eyes to that emotion he's feeling of annoyance or aggravation.

It's most likely Yeosang sees a lot of himself in Jimin, with the whole heartless thing going on, and maybe this is his way of trying to get himself to open up about his feelings too since he just....... Find it hard expressing emotions.

Not that he can't, it's just he's been taught differently.

It's always been to be monotone and cold, based on the life he grew up in. There's no space or time for happiness, to be sad, to be angry.

He has to be collected and keep his composure at all times.

Now at least he feels relaxed.

Even if it's for this moment, he feels relaxed to finally do something new and not feel so guarded.

And hopefully Jimin feels that way too.

Suddenly Yeosang is dragged to a shooting game by Joshua after a bit of them playing with the old games. Jimin was already here with another guy, Lucas, who was letting Jimin be smug by how he beat him at this game with a smile.

Captured by the charms, no surprise there.

Yeosang stares at the toy pistol that's connected to the large screen. This game almost looks something like PUBG or Fortnite, but a bit more western and just...... Intense.

While Yeosang was playing with Joshua, he kinda forgot for a moment he was even playing a game at all. Anyone he saw he would kill.

A perfect shot too.

The goal is to have more kills against the zombies than the other player, and it's obvious that Yeosang won this round.

He had 200 kills.

Joshua had eleven.

"You're so good at this game," Joshua whined with a stubborn pout before turning to his best friend, "Alright competition! Let's who gets the most kills!"

Yeosang and Jimin's eyes met at that moment, the clear tension sparking that same second since its clear they have been avoiding each other, fighting hard to not scowl at each other in front of Joshua or Lucas, so to not cause a scene Jimin went along with it wordlessly.

Joshua was a squealing mess as he gets ready to see this match. Meanwhile the two players gets ready as the game begins.

And it was almost as though everything became a battle zone.

From left and right they were killing and killing and finding new zombies to kill. Yeosang could feel himself mold into the game, the hunger to kill growing and growing to win as he shoots as many zombies he could find.

This game is actually so stress relieving for him because it even shows the blood and all the gore stuff when the zombies are killed, clearly a game not meant for kids to play.

Even the way the gun jerked when Yeosang would shoot felt real, and he has so many kills as of now starting the game.

However at one point he did a mistake.

A sly mistake, but it really made him fall so behind.

He glanced at Jimin.

Why was that a mistake?

Because Yeosang literally paused to the way Jimin was playing. His posture, his grip on the gun, stone cold facial expression, everything about him at this very moment looked as though this was real and not a game.

He's in the perfect stance to kill with a gun, giving himself the perfect view and chance to look carefully and have the perfect aim to extinguish a perfect shot.

First it was the fighting, and now this?

This is clearly the posture of someone who's not an amateur at holding a gun, but Yeosang has dug into Jimin's past and there's literally nothing there that would be concerning.

Hm..... What is he hiding?

Yeosang shrugs the thought off and continues back to catching up because Jimin flew to 100 kills and Yeosang is still at 75. It didn't take long from him to find ways to lure some zombies to him and he was now around the same kills as Jimin.

Maybe even equally at the same pace.

That's until suddenly his character got shot.

On the leg, literally out of no where.

What the fuck?

Yeosang looks around the screen and notices it was Jimin's character, who is standing there with a gun pointed to him.

Oh he did not.....

"Whoops," Jimin chirps innocently, "I missed."

A snarl forms Yeosang's lips and he took a shot to Jimin's character on the arm, making the other grunt in annoyance under his breath.

"I don't."

Now it's when this became war.

Joshua and his friend Lucas just stared at the two with frightened eyes to the blood mess on the screen from the two characters attacking each other. Even the zombies in the game were watching as though their waiting to be shot themselves, but obviously the two killers weren't focusing on them.

At one point they switched their guns and Jimin had a whole fucking bazooka while Yeosang had a riffle. There's no telling how many times their characters had died or blown each other up to pieces, but every time they would revive they would continue attacking each other.

The clear anger radiating from both of their heaving emotions is reaching it's maximum point until finally when both of their characters died, making the game end by how much they've died, they literally dropped the toy guns and were up on each other's faces.

"You just had to fucking kill me didn't you!"

"You started it!"

"Oh so mature of you to point fingers!"

"I swear if we weren't in a fucking arcade right now-"

"What are you going to do? Huh? Kill me!"

"I should be asking you that since you started attacking me!"

"And you did too!

Joshua and Lucas literally had to squeeze themselves between the two to hold them back from literally breaking into an actual fight, but the two being the hot heads they are just walked the opposite direction without making a scene.

Somethings don't change, Jimin still manages to piss him off any chance he can get, without even trying.

When that anger slowly turned to frustration as he gets outside to smoke a cigarette, that's when it became a problem. Yeosang didn't want to think about last night but he did, it was inevitable, and he could feel his blood boil much more quicker than his adrenaline to kill.

It seems as though every encounter between them only builds up from the last. The tension gets thicker, the desire is uncontrollable and the the frustration is reaching its limit.

No, Yeosang will never admit how Jimin has managed to make him feel completely desperate for him, but he can admit that Jimin's efforts is definitely fucking with his head.

Even the cigarettes isn't dwindling down this wild fire of emotions that he's carrying.

"Hey!"

Ah shit.

Yeosang takes an inhale of his cigarette and turns his head to see Joshua by the door, but he approaches Yeosang just as the other exhales the smoke into the air.

"I'm sorry about Jimin, he can be pretty..... Intense when it comes to the game and-"

An arm is suddenly wrapped around Joshua's waist, yanking him closer and Yeosang presses their lips together.

Joshua even in his kisses is a little fluff ball.

His kisses are so soft and gentle, almost like a sweet ice cream melting under the sun or cotton candy. Maybe that would be someone's preference for sure, but Yeosang needs something rough right now.

Something intense.

He's talking about the hair yanking, lip bitting until it's swollen, neck hickeys, panting breathes, hungry type of kiss. To push against the wall, feeling nothing but the closeness and the desperate desire to want more. The type to help ease whatever this frustration he has inside him or to satisfy it.

Even if he did try that with Joshua, he would get too afraid he would hurt him and he didn't want to do that.

Joshua is a cute baby, Yeosang doesn't want to ruin his comfort zone at all.

So that's why he then pulls away and presses another kiss to his forehead with a small smile to Joshua's blushing cheeks. Clearly the other wasn't expecting that, not like he's complaining either way.

Yeosang is a good kisser, especially when he's needy.

"Wow I'm tingling," Joshua manages to blurt out in his panic yet giddily mode, still dazed by the kiss, "I mean it's not the first time we...... It was unexpected and-"

"I get it don't worry," Yeosang chuckles fondly to how Joshua's cheeks are completely red now, looking at the ground while fighting a smile back.

Yeah...... He'll protect Joshua from those types of things.

He deserves the respect of the world.

To be happy.

So Yeosang threw the bud of the cigarette to the ground and steps on it, swinging an arm over Joshua's shoulders while pecking his head before walking them back to the arcade.

Not realizing how a pair of eyes were watching them from the inside the entire time, and Jimin couldn't do anything but scowl as he stomps back to playing these stupid games.

A/N:
There's a cute scene I can't wait to write about but it will probably have to be when things start to 'calm down' between Jisang, a little.

Actually I could write it the next chapter.....

Hmm we'll see!

I PURPLE YOU! <33
