Sixty - Eight (FINAL)

The spring semester has started back in the university, ending winter break to break some skulls into studying and learning new material, subjects, maybe even making new friends too - who knows.

It was an adjustment for Jimin, since he didn't remember anything about college, or just.... Anything in general. Something were starting to be picked up, such as basic math and literature quite easily. He knows the obvious stuff you learn as a kid in school, but when it comes to personal things - that's something that just doesn't come to him as easily as seeing 2+2= 4.

However, he gradually is picking up on his classes well, and Joshua has been great help in adjusting him back into shape - along with their group of friends.

Any curiosity Jimin had, Joshua had the answers, and if it wasn't for him - Jimin knows he probably wouldn't have anyone else.

When the topic of his parents came up, it didn't quite surprise him to know that he is an orphan as of now, apparently his parents dying in a accidental fire, which explains why no one turned up to see him in the hospital.

Besides this one guy, besides Joshua, who told him his name was Raven.

Maybe he was a therapist or a detective, but one thing for sure is that he understood Jimin's feelings well and he gave him good advice on how to approach that condition.

Yet Jimin never saw him again, which was unfortunate since he seemed like someone Jimin could've relied on when he needed it.

Well, thankfully Jimin did end up getting a therpist to deal with this amnesia and it's been a confusing whirl - lots of random mental breakdowns here and there, PTSD to loud noises and scents of blood, but other than that, he's at a better state than how he was three months ago.

He even got himself someone who's growing close with him, his name his Yoongi.

Sweet guy, apparently they knew each other well, and he was really gentle with Jimin, so it made him feel some kind of tenderness from him.

Lots of things can happen in three months, changes, feelings and thoughts, but Jimin is learning to adjust to it.

Just like the individual that passed by him in the hallways switching classes, who didn't spare a glance at him as he adjusts his backpack on his arm as he looks around.

Fighting everything to not look at Jimin, especially to his laugh when Yoongi made a joke to his amusement.

Yeosang hasn't changed, not as much as Jimin has.

Despite all that has occured in the past, one thing hasn't changed, and it's Yeosang's position in wanting a normal life. He fell in love with it just as quickly as he fell for the person who showed it to him, and it gave him the hope that he can do more than this.

And his parents didn't stop him.

On the other hand, Hwanwoong was more than willing to take in that position, and he definitely showed it through the intensive training - growing stronger and stronger than anyone in that empire.

That was his way to cope.

Yeosang was down a dark place after he let Jimin go, going through grief of losing both Jimin and Taemin at the same time - but at least with Jimin he could see him in school, as for Taemin he would only have to see the videos and pictures of moments that were once present.

Phoenix helped cope, since they were all going through it, and would have circle sessions on Taemin's grave to somehow make it feel as though he's there.

When classes started, that's when it got easier since Yeosang began to used studying as a distraction.

Until of course, he broke in front of his parents one night - and he couldn't stop crying once he started.

He needed to let it out, and he was grateful it was with them.

They just knew the right things to say to make it feel as though the world wasn't ending.

That he was allowed to feel this way.

That it's not a bad thing.

So instead of holding it in, whenever he wanted to let it out, he talked about it with them.

And it got easier and easier since then.

So, when the semester started, another thing accompanied it - a new name, new identity.

Yeosanged wanted a fresh start, that means not having any correlation with Oasis so no enemy can find him.

Now he just goes by Gem.

And he prefer it, even though Felix bullies him about it any chance he can get.

With Lisa's help, after some convincing since she was pissed that she was not informed in this chaos that happened, she did Yeosang the favor.

Now Yeosang walks amongst these hallways as a new person, going to classes and avoiding making friends - but eventually did making one, her name being Chungha.

She could be his twin with her same attitude as him, guess that's something they bond over besides going on motorcycle rides.

And perhaps studying.

That's how Yeosang ended up in the library after classes, looking for book for his literature project that he has to do with Chungha. They have to do this presentation on the text itself, why it's famous and what the story projects.

Something Yeosang knows Chungha will have a drag doing since she hates literature.

So he was aiming for something simple, casually looking through the row of books before his eyes settled on one.

And his heart stopped momentarily, frowning.

Romeo and Juliet.

The horror that title alone brings to Yeosang is enough to give his head a migraine, but also the overwhelming emotions of the faint night that happened way too long ago yet still fresh in his heart.

The wounds still fresh.

Yeosang stares at the book, sighing heavily.

Guess they ended up like Romeo and Juliet after all.

So choosing that book, Yeosang reaches for it.

Not noticing the hand reaching for it too, until their fingers softly brushes one another.

Freezing on the spot, taken off guard, Yeosang looks over to his side.

And it was as though life was breathing back into his lungs.

The sun glowed brighter.

His soul returned to his monotone body.

Time now was moving slower, just for this moment of destiny.

There beside him stood Jimin, who shyly looks to their fingers and then shifts his eyes to Yeosang.

And Yeosang swore from the deepest pleading bone in his heart, to the angel who's smiling down at them for this moment, to the universe arranging for this to happen - that he saw something.

A sparkle in this almond brown eyes.

A dilate in those pupils.

Something.

He saw something.

Unless it's his delusion.

Yet even if he did see something, or felt it when they fingers touched, he still the same man he has to protect by avoiding.

That's why Yeosang swallowed it up, pulling his hand back indifferently, "Sorry," And he tries to channel being the same boy he was when he first met Jimin, that same asshole, "I want that book."

Jimin stares at him for a moment, but blinks and looks back to the book, "Well, I need it for a book project."

"And I need it for an assignment."

"My book project is due this week."

"Not my fault you weren't responsible in doing it earlier," Yeosang scowls, taking the book, "You can take it once I'm done."

Jimin looked offended, a hand on his hip, "When is your assignment due?"

"Next week."

Okay, perhaps Yeosang is teasing him because he just wants to talk to him.

By this somewhat normal conversation.

Jimin's lips twitched to a sneer, "I need it now."

Yeosang fakes a smile and taps the book to Jimin's head, "Go on Google, heard they have copies," And he turns around, grinning to himself.

But he halts right when he hears something.

Something that made his blood run cold.

And it came from Jimin's lips.

"You're such a spawn!"

Spawn.

A nerve tugged Yeosang's heart upon hearing this, not believing that's what he heard that he even had to look back to Jimin - seeing him glaring at him with arms crossed.

He had to ask, "What did you just call me?"

"A spawn," Jimin spats angrily, looking away, "I need that book."

Yeosang stares at him hard, still unable to comprehend the name he said to him.

It shouldn't, and Yeosang knows very well he can't, but it glimmered a sheer of hope and light into his soul.

It was that same hope that made him slowly turn around, being tugged in his heart to approach him and stand right before him again. Jimin still doesn't look at him, but his eyes did look to the book when Yeosang taps it.

"You want to know why Romeo and Juliet failed?" Yeosang whispers, shifting Jimin's eyes to look at him, "Because they thought they could escape together instead of following their responsibilities, which resulted with their death. How's that for your book project?"

Jimin stares at him, and this time he couldn't look away.

And Yeosang couldn't either, letting every ice in his heart thaw just for him.

As it used to.

"That's how you see it?" Jimin whispers quietly, "I'd like to think they succeeded, want to know why?" Yeosang gulps thickly, especially when Jimin places his hand on the book, "Because they had help."

The air was silent.

The library quieter than how it was before, not even with its hushed whispers from the students studying or working on their homework.

No, none of that mattered.

And that was that Yeosang knew.

He knew.

And.... He let's it be.

That's why he rolls his eyes, "Whatever, have your book then," And he shoves it to Jimin's hands, "Give it back when you're done then."

Jimin didn't look at the book, only at Yeosang's eyes with a twitch of his lips, "You're a complicated person, I hope you know that."

"I've been told."

"I can imagine," Jimin murmurs, eyeing him before releasing a careless chuckle, "I'm Jimin."

Yeosang held his tongue, even when he wanted to say the truth, "I'm Gem."

Jimin looks at the ground shyly and nods, "Are you always going to be an asshole?"

"Are you still going to be talking to me?"

"Was that supposed to hurt my feelings?"

Yeosang couldn't fight back his twitch of a smile, "Yeah, I guess."

Jimin looks down to the book before opening it, taking out a pencil from his pocket, "In that case," He scribbles on it quickly before shoving it to his hands, "Give this back when you learned your manners."

Jimin didn't give Yeosang a chance to say anything back, only blushes quietly before walking away, leaving Yeosang to feel his heart racing in his chest as he finally breathes with a giddily smile on his lips.

One that extended widely when he opens the book and looks down to the note Jimin wrote.

'Our little secret Spawn' - Minnie x

Yeosang only looks to where Jimin once stood, feeling this feeling burst in his chest to this new normal.

A new normal for him.

Where Jimin is in it too.

Always knowing that no matter what, he will always be his Minnie's Spawn.
