Cody curled up around a science book, flipping the pages every few seconds. He was working on a universe hopping machine, like the Tardis from Doctor Who.

The machine so far actually looked like the Tardis, on purpose of course.

The machine was sitting in front of his locked door, extra protection to keep Lynn, who was suspiciously silent, out.

He was reading about previous encounters with alternate universes, or as he called them, AUs. Him and his friend, Alphys had come up with that clever abbreviation.

But, out of nowhere, as if she were in the ventilation, Lynn elbow dropped onto Cody, screaming "HYAAAAA!".

Shoving Lynn off him, Cody wondered why Lynn berated him so much, seeing as she had all the friends in the world at school. She even managed to be friends with the prince and the princess, Asriel and Chara.

She had even been to the palace for a play date.

Cody had been to the palace too, but it was only to talk science with Alphys and her mentor, Royal Scientist Gaster. He never met the royalty.

"GUESSWHATGUESSWHAT?" Lynn screamed in his hear, vibrating. Cody tried to ignore her but she continued "I'm gonna scream if you don't respond,"

"Please don't," He tried, but she cut him off with a piercing shriek. "WHAT?" He shouted.

"Chicken Butt," she giggled, but leaped out the door, almost breaking the Tardis AU machine in the process, when their parents called her name.

Finally, Cody had the information to start the machine and was coding it in. It was ready, and he was about to climb in, but it didn't work.

No, Cody made it perfectly. It was going to work.

Suddenly Lynn flew into the room, screaming about something. But Cody didn't hear.

Lynn had broken his machine, and he would never forgive her.
