Ghirahim's My Roommate? (26)

Vaati: *in a slightly bored tone* Happy Valentine's Day from the characters of Ghirahim's My Roommate?

Link: That is the most bored tone that I've ever heard from you.

Shadow: You should hear his tone after Ghirahim tells him how to properly build a statue.

Vaati: ... Was that necessary to mention?

Link: I take that back.

Shadow: Don't worry Link. Vaati likes Valentine's Day, but he hates having to take Reina's place in the author's notes.

Link: Oh.

Chapter 26: Valentine's Day 2015

"How about here?" I asked Aryll.

She shook her head. "Lower."

I moved the lace down a little from its original position on the wall. "How about here?"

"Lower."

"Is this better?" I moved it a centimeter lower.

"Lower."

"What about here?"

"Lower."

"This place is better, right?"

"Lower."

"Should I leave it here?"

"Lower."

I moved the lace down. "This seems even..."

"Lower."

"Aryll, it's even."

"Lower."

"No, seriously. It's fine."

"Lower."

"Are you serious?!"

"Lower."

"Now you're just messing with me," I muttered.

"Needs to be a centimeter below were it is."

"You're not helping me, Shadow!"

"Link, leave it there," Raven interjected. She pulled a ruler out and drew an imaginary line, showing myself (and Aryll and potentially Shadow) that it was even and thus didn't have to be moved. Nodding, I applied tape to the lace and let go.

"That was fun!" Aryll laughed. "Let's do that again!"

"No."

"Yes."

"No."

"Yes."

"No."

"Yes."

"No."

"Yes."

"No."

"No."

"Yes."

"No."

"Yes."

"Nien."

"What?" I asked. Shadow and Raven had already left, so I couldn't ask Raven what Aryll had said.

"I said 'No' in German."

"Oh," I replied. "What, wait?!"

Aryll laughed. "You fell for the old Duck Season-Rabbit Season trick again!"

"Seriously?"

Aryll grinned mischievously. "Yes. Now be a good brother and get more lace."

"No, I won't," I crossed my arms and glared at my sister.

Aryll hugged me. "Please?" She looked at me with puppy eyes. My willpower began to crumble.

"Oi, Link!" Vaati walked up, looking very annoyed. "I need your help for a second."

"Yeah? What happened?"

"Ghirahim."

I sighed. "Aryll, get Shadow to help you. If necessary, bribe him with food."

"He's making a statue."

"Then get Raven."

"She's cooking."

"Daiki?"

"I don't want to."

"Lexy."

"Okay! She's not busy!"

Vaati spun on his heel and walked off. I caught up to him. "Something wrong?"

He growled. "Ghirahim is making yet another statue of himself."

"Why?" I asked. "Wait, there isn't an explanation. Never mind."

We found Ghirahim in his room. And I immediately wanted to rip my eyes out and take a gallon of bleach to wipe my memory clean. Sadly, neither option would have worked and they were quite dangerous.

"Do you like my fabulous statue?" Ghirahim asked.

"NO!" Vaati and I screamed.

"I thought I did a good job portraying my fabulous self as Cupid!"

"Are you TRYING to make me rip my eyes out?!" I yelled.

"Why would you do such a thing?"

"Because that statue is scary as HELL!"

Vaati snapped his fingers, and the horrific statue fell over. Ghirahim panicked/freaked out while Vaati sighed and left. Deciding that I didn't want to see the cupid statue anymore, I followed Vaati.

"Why did you bring me with you?" I grumbled.

"I thought that I lost my mind..."

"Can't say I blame you."

"Vaati-san, I need to ask you a question."

Vaati turned to Alicia. "Don't call me Vaati-san. It makes me feel old."

"Fine. Vaati-Senpai, I need to ask you a question."

"Yes?"

Alicia stepped forward. "May I grab the book of wind spells for your room?"

"No, you can't use it to destroy the tree that Daiki is in," Vaati replied. "But I will allow you to borrow it."

I blinked. "Say what now?"

"Daiki is not in a tree," Alicia sighed. "He's hiding in one of the rooms when I threatened to banish him to Lorule."

Vaati walked to his room with Alicia following. I walked behind them, wondering what a normal Valentine's Day was like.

"Gah!"

I snapped back to reality. "What the..."

When Vaati had opened the door, dark chocolate burst forward and nearly covered Vaati and Alicia. My mouth fell open. How did we get this much chocolate, and why was it in Vaati's room? Fangirls, maybe?

Shadow morphed from the shadows and walked over to Vaati. "Can I have your chocolate?"

"Yes. I don't want any of this tainted substance," Vaati muttered as he brushed himself off.

"How is it tainted?" I asked.

Alicia held a card up. Without even opening it, I immediately understood.

"Let me guess- Ghirahim?"

Alicia growled. "That blasted demon sword. He better have used his own funds instead of Vaati's or yours..."

"Why did Ghirahim do this?" I asked.

"Because my dear brother Vaati needed some of my fabulous chocolate!" Ghirahim said as he pranced around the room and hugged Vaati.

"Get your filthy hands off of me. AND I AM NOT YOUR BROTHER!" Vaati screamed as an anime tick appeared on his head and slugged Ghirahim with his wind magic.

"How unfabulous!" Ghirahim whined.

"Gah!" Raven screamed.

I dashed over to her. "Are you okay?"

"I'm buried under fifty pounds of dark chocolate. Do I LOOK okay?" Raven snapped as she escaped the mountain of chocolate.

"No."

"Exactly."

"HOORAY!" Aryll dove into her chocolate after it spilled from her room and began to swim in it. Apparently, chocolate is chocolate, regardless of the fact that Ghirahim probably gave it to her.

"Raven, can I have your chocolate?" Shadow asked.

"Sure."

I opened my door, and a bunch of chocolate fell on top of me.

"WHAT THE HELL?!" I yelled.

"Can I have-"

"Yes, Shadow. You can have it.

"Aryll, can I have your chocolate?"

"NO."

"Aw."

"Why do you want chocolate?" Raven asked.

"It tastes good... So if you got chocolate, then that means that I have some!" Shadow dashed to his room and opened the door. Sadly, no chocolate spilled out.

Shadow looked deflated. I felt bad for him.

"Why didn't I get any...?"

Lexy walked up with her hands behind her back. "I heard screamin- why is there chocolate everywhere?"

"Ghirahim." We all replied.

"Let me guess- he views Link, Raven, and everyone else as friends that deserve chocolate?"

We nodded- except for Shadow. Lexy walked over to him. "He didn't give you any?"

Shadow nodded solemnly.

"Screw it. I got you some. Happy Valentine's Day, Shadow." Lexy pulled out a dark chocolate heart and handed it to a bewildered Shadow Link.

"Thanks, Lexy!"

She smiled. "You help me destroy Ghirahim's computer any day, you get chocolate from me."

As much as I would have liked to watch Shadow and Lexy have a heart-to-heart moment, I realized that I left my gifts for my sisters downstairs.

"Be right back." I spun on my heel and dashed down the stairs and into the main hallway-

-where Zelda was standing.

"Gah! Zelda! W-what're y-"

"Hi Link! Happy Valentine's Day! Your door was open, so I entered to see if you were alright."

"Oh. S-sorry."

"It's fine," she smiled. She reached into her bag and pulled some chocolate out. "Here's your chocolate."

I took it from her hands. "Th-Thanks. Happy Valentine's Day."

Zelda turned to leave, but I grabbed her shoulder. "Did you really come all this way to only give me chocolate?"

"...Yes."

I sighed. "Why?"

"I-I thought that you were angry with me."

"About what?"

"Um... I really don't know."

"So you're telling me that you were worried sick over the fact that I was angry about you when in reality I wasn't?"

"You lost me at 'So'."

I laughed. "That's a little funny, no offense."

Zelda nodded. "Thanks Link."

I reached into my pocket and pulled a heart necklace out. "Happy Valentine's Day."

"Did you steal this?" Zelda asked as she grabbed the necklace gently.

"Why would you say that?"

"You stole some treasure from some pirates before."

"It was mine before they stole it. I just took it back."

Zelda laughed. "Thanks Link. So... We're good?"

"As friends, yes. Anything else, no."

The princess nodded. "As expected. Thanks Link."

"Your welcome.

Zelda walked out the door after hugging me. Before the door shut, Sheik dashed by me and spun me around.

"Hey!"

"Let her go," Vaati replied. "She's protecting Zelda."

"Is Sheik a girl?"

"I don't know. You ask Sheik later."

"But why defend Zelda now?"

"Trouble's brewing. We need to defend the princess and Hyrule itself. By the way, excellent conversation with Zelda."

"It was really awkward and strange. She... She didn't ask me for anything."

"Love is a strange being."

"I do not want to hear that from you."

"Too bad."

"Bye Vaati!" Lexy yelled as she dashed past us.

"I will see you soon, Vaati-senpai," Alicia replied as she teleported away with Daiki.

Raven hugged me. "See you later." She walked off.

"What just happened?" I asked Vaati.

"Ganondorf's planning something. I don't know what it is. That's why those four left. They're going to investigate."

"Where?"

"Raven is checking the Gerudos' territory, where Ganondorf was born. Lexy is going to the different temples, to see if they are enemies hiding. Daiki is checking the world of demons, to see if any are working with Ganondorf. And Alicia is going anywhere she can trace evil."

"What about me?" I asked.

"You are staying here so that Ghirahim doesn't do something to your house."

I shrugged. "All right then. Guess that's settled."

Vaati: And here I realize that the Ghirahim's My Roommate? chapters are out of order.

Link: Yeah, it's a bit hard to follow.
