Chapter 19

"I'll never tell you!" Will shouts, spitting at his feet.

"Fine then," replies the native. "Then the great one will get them itself." He turns too the stone.

"Who's the great one?" Will asks.

"The stone, the ancient power! We worship it, give it offerings and protect it!"

He walks up too the first statue. He blasts fire and envelopes it with flames. The statue glows red. He goes too the next and the air shifts around it. It turns red as well. The next was earth. Then water. The four normal elements. Than what for the other four? He goes up too one and turns it invisible. Then it reappears in a red colour. He goes up too the next and forms a shield around it.

It dissipates leaving a red statue. The next he whispers too, probably cursing it. It glows red. The final one. He forms metal from air and morphs it too the statue. It's destroyed and reveals a red statue. The key was done. He walks in and kneels at the pedestal.

"taerg eno! Dnif eht seno ohw kees uoy."

The stone glowed. Then I feel light, the stuff around me shifts. I'm pulled out of hiding by a force. The stone was revealing us. I fly into air into plain sight of the natives. As does everyone else. We float into the crowd and down besides Will. I land next too Terry. They bind us with ropes quickly.

"We must get the stone while we can! The statues are disabled but as we speak, the red is turning back too blue! We must hurry and get it!" He whispers. I look at him.

His face was white with fear. I survey our group once more. Will was spitting at the natives. Tracey was trying too scratch her nose but her bindings are preventing her. Lisa just looked bored. Frederick was having a nap and Terry was doing what he was born too do. Freaking out. His name was Terry Fied after all.

I turn too see the natives again. All I end up seeing is a staff flying at my face and everything goes black.

"Uhhhhh..." I groan.

"Took you long enough," I hear Will mutter.

"What happened?" I try too move my arms but they were still tied. Blood rushes too my head strangely.

I open my eyes. We were suspended over a pit of darkness by ropes attached too our feet. High above they were attached too the ceiling. We weren't in the big room with the stone anymore, all that was here was the pit, and the tunnel leading here. The only other people here were the chief native, and two executioners who had knifes ready too cut the ropes.

"Where is the stone?" I whisper too Will.

"The chief has it, he took it and uses its power too maintain this portal."

I look down at the portal of darkness. Even if I would survive going through it, I wouldn't survive where it went, I new that much.

The chief yells in an loud voice. He lifts the stone into the air above his head. "Dloheb! Eht seno ohw deirt oot ekat uoy! Yeht llahs won hsirep ni eht dnal fo ssenkard! Yopolist!"

Lisa puts a face of pure horror. Yopolist, whatever the portal took us, I did not want too go!

"ydaer!" He screams now.

"Oh no..." I hear Lisa gasp. Frederick was still asleep.

"Won!" He shrieks.

Nothing happens. Something drips on my forehead. I reach down and wipe it off with my finger. Blood. I look up, the executioner natives... Were hanging dead off the ledge where they were standing, pierced in the throat by metal blades. The creature was here.

Blood ran down off the edge off the cliff edge. The chief panicked and ran. Leaving us alone.

"Now what?" I hear Tracey whisper.

"Get out of here." I reply.

The portal: no longer sustained by the stones power. Was gone now, leaving a stone floor. I hear screams in the distance. The anguished wails of the natives. And something else, wind, fire and earth cracking, the resistance had found them.

I rub my head, it was starting too hurt from the blood rushing too it. "My head hurts..." I mumble.

"Well it's going too hurt a little bit more." Replies Will, who had climbed his rope too the ledge and picked up a natives knife. He cuts my rope and I fall. On my head, like Will had said.

"Ow!" I call out, "That hurt!"

"Well, would you rather a head ache or beasts sucking out your soul in a different dimension!" Will replies.

I decide too just go with the headache. Tracey and Lisa fall next, landing gracefully on their feet. I grumble in envy. Terry falls next, and then Frederick who hits the ground and wakes up.

"Huh? What happened?"

"You fell asleep." Grumbled Lisa.

"I remember! I jumped into some rubbish but I fell on a bottle of sleeping powder and..." he trailed off.

"Well, sorry too disappoint you but we need too find the chief." Terry squeals, probably scaring himself saying it.

We run down the tunnel and find more tunnels. We follow the one that had screams of terror. A native jumps out behind a corner and runs right past them. Anther runs by, and more. They were trying too escape. We find the stairway we found before. I run down it two at a time. What I find at the bottom is chaos.

Natives and men alike are together, throwing magic and weapons at the thing, its purples eyes glowing with malice. He was holding a large blade, six feet long and five inches thick. He was teleporting behind people, beheading them or slashing them too death, then too the next man. The fight was over in the far corner of the giant room.

Fire went around him. Earth crumples under his feet. And the wind was making him even deadlier. Never the less, people weren't giving up. At least fifty natives stood standing and fifteen of the resistances soldiers. The ground was littered with bodies of men and natives alike.

The chief. Where was the chief? I look around at the fighting men. No one was as big as the chief. I finally find him, dead on the ground with deep slashes across his back.

"Hurry! He's here!"

The others run towards me and start to search his body.

"Got it!" Yells Lisa.

"Hurry! Hold on too Will! He'll teleport us out!"

I grab hold. Then the beast is there, it's all that I can see. Blood fills my vision. I fall on the ground, pain fills my body as a sword slices a deep cut in my back.. Everyone is on the ground with a wound or two, only Will remained unscathed.

Terry heals himself and quickly does the others. Lisa is crawling away, I see why. In the fight she had dropped the stone. We all hold hands with Will, Lisa grabs the stone, but she hadn't been healed yet. She crawls desperately back too us. Five meters, three meters, Terry reaches out with his other hand, unwilling too let go, too scared to be left behind.

Then I see it. A green light pierces the damp light and hits Lisa, she screams and vanishes, the stone falls too the ground undamaged. Arnold walks out of the shadows. We just stare, too shocked to move. He smiles, picks up the stone and disappears.

He had the stone. Will teleports and I stand, we were surrounded by fire, a burning cave filled with fire and dead bodies.

"Will, where are we!" I yell.

He frowns, "I don't get it, I thought I teleported us too the base."

It hits me, this was the base. The resistance... Was already destroyed.
