"WE'RE HOME!" Alden yells as we walk through the front door of our house. The house is silent until I hear some barking noise.

Our two dogs come running towards us and are jumping up and down excitedly. Their tongue and hanging out their mouth as both tails wag.

I crouch down and pet them. "Hii. We missed you so much. I see you did too. Yes you did," I say in a soft voice.

I stand back up and head up the stairs with my dogs trailing behind me. I go to my room, put my backpack and purse down then head back downstairs.

I go to the kitchen to get a snack and Alden is sitting there on one of the barstools on his phone.

"Mom and dad texted me saying that they will be working late tonight. So we will be eating dinner by ourselves," Alden says.

I just shrug. "Fine by me. They're never home anyway," I said rolling my eyes.

"Sis you know they can't be at home all the time. At least they try to come home when they can," Alden argues.

I scoff. "Yeah, but they never spend time with us. Am I right?" I ask.

Alden doesn't say anything. "Exactly," I say.

"Well at least it's not another business trip," he replies.

"Yeah whatever," I say and grab some hot Cheetos and a Pepsi.

I go to the living room and turn on the tv. I lay down on the couch and one of my dogs hops up on my lap. I think she's the female one cuz she's smaller. She lays down on my lap and closes her eyes. I smile and take a picture.

I look back up at the tv and go to Netflix. I scroll down to find something to watch and I see Outer Banks.  I've heard about this show but I've never watched it.  Might at well see what it's about.  I click on it and start the first episode.

I'm so interested in it that I don't even see my brother come into the room. Like seriously? How did I not hear him?

"What are you watching?" He asks.

"Outer Banks," I said without taking my eyes off the screen.

"Isn't that the show that Alaysiah was always talking about?" He asks me.

"Yup. I finally decided to watch it," I tell him.

"Cool. Hey, I was gonna order Chinese for dinner. Is that okay with you?" He asks.

I turn to look at him. "Yeah that's fine,"' I say then right back at the screen.

"Ok I will order at 6," he said.

"Mmhm," I reply.

I guess he leaves the room because I don't hear him anymore.

I get through the first three episodes and I start on the fourth. God, this series has gotten me hooked. I love John B. He's so determined and smart. He loves his dad and is loyal to all his friends. He's fine too.

Suddenly the doorbell rings and I groan. Who in the world could be ringing the doorbell? Like I'm so comfortable and I don't feel like getting up at all. The doorbell rings again and I roll my eyes.

"GET THE DOOR SIS," my brother yells from upstairs.

"WHY CAN'T YOU GET IT? IM COMFORTABLE AND I DON'T FEEL LIKE GETTING UP," I yell back.

"WELL TOO BAD. IM BUSY RIGHT NOW," he yells back.

I mutter profanities under my breath. Busy? Yeah right. I bet he's just playing video games. That's all he ever does like for real.

I sit up on the couch and look down to see my dog asleep. I pick her up gently and move her beside me. She doesn't even stir when I move her. I click pause on the episode I'm watching.

I get up and stretch before going to the door. When I open the door a young teenage guy is standing there with a bag in his hand.

He smiles at me. "Are you Halden Crossley?" He asks.

"No that would be my brother. HALDEN! THE FOOD IS HERE!" I yell.

"MY WALLET IS ON THE COUNTERTOP!" He yells back.

I tell the food delivery guy I'll be right back. I walk to the kitchen and grab Halden's wallet and walk back to the door.

I hand him the credit card. He swipes it and then hands it back. Then he hands me my receipt and our food.

"So uh what's your name?" he asks.

I raise my eyebrow. "Why are you asking?" I say.

"Well uh, I was wondering would you like to go out on Friday night?" He asks.

Is he serious? We just met. "I'm busy Friday night," I lied

His face falls for a sec but then it lights up, "Well how about Saturday?" He asks.

"Can't. Already have plans," I say smiling tightly.

"Oh well how about- - I cut him off by slamming the door in his face. I lock the door and bring the food to the kitchen.

I mean could that dude not take a hint? I wasn't interested at all. Plus I don't even know him. He could be a serial killer or a stalker. Who knows.

I hear Halden's footsteps come down the stairs. He walks into the kitchen rounds as I'm unpacking the food.

"Food smells good. I'm starving," he says.

"Same," I say. I get us two plates and fill them up with sweet and sour chicken, fried rice, egg roll, and chow mein.

We sit at the barstools on the island and eat our food. Once we're done I put our plates in the dishwasher. Then I get the dog food out of the pantry and fill the dog's bowls up with food and water to drink.

One of the dogs comes in the kitchen and goes straight to one of the bowls and starts eating.

"They love to eat. Don't they?" Halden asks me.

I smile. "Yeah, they do. The other one is sleeping so she will probably come and eat later," I say.

"She?" Halden asks confused.

I nod slowly. "Yes, Halden. One is a girl and one is a boy," I say.

"Yo serious?" Halden asks shocked.

"YES! Can't you tell?" I ask in a duh voice.

He rolls his eyes. "No I cannot Liyah," he says.

"Wow. I thought you were smarter than," I say smirking.

"And I thought you were uglier than that but hey I guess I was wrong," he says smirking right back.

My jaw drops and my face gets red. "TAKE THAT BACK," I shout.

His smirking gets bigger and it makes me angrier. "Nah I don't think so. Besides What kind of brother would I be without teasing you," he says.

I narrow my eyebrows. "YOU LITTLE SHIT," I yell and run towards him. His eyes widen and he takes off through the house with me chasing him. We run through the hallways and the living room and the stairs. He runs into his room and try's to shut the door but I push it open and walk towards him. He backs away with his hands up.

"Sis can we just please civilly talk about this- - AHH!" he screams in pain as I grab his ear hard and force his head down.

"Say I'm the best sister in the world and that you love me very much," I say smirking.

"Never- AHHH!" He screams some more when I grab it harder.

"SAY IT," I grit.

"FINE! Your the best sister in the world and I love you very much," he says all in one breath.

I smile and let his ear go. He holds it like it's sore which it probably is.

"Now that wasn't so hard was it?" I ask grinning.

He mumbles under his breath and shoos me out of his room. I walk out of his room and go back downstairs to the living room. I get back to watching Outer Banks while laying on the couch.

I finish the episode I was watching but decide to continue the show tomorrow. I click on 13 Reasons Why and watch that for the rest of the night.

I don't know how long I've been watching it but I'm getting sleepy so I shut off the tv, pick up my dog and head upstairs. I go into my room and lay my dog on my bed. I get out of my clothes and put on my pajamas and then I go to my bathroom to wash my makeup off. I do my night skincare routine.

"Halden I'm going to sleep," I yell.

"Ok, goodnight," he yells back.

"Night," I say.

I plug my phone up to charge and see that it's eleven o'clock. Wow, it's late and usually, I won't be sleepy right now but I'm worn out. Plus I've had a long day at school so I need all the sleep I can get. One thing about me is I value sleep.

I climb into bed and immediately drift off to sleep.

Hello guys! Hoped you liked this chapter. I know I did. I laughed so much when I was writing it lol. Outer Banks is one of my favorite shows and I can't wait for season two on July 30!!! If you haven't seen it I recommend it.

I love the sibling dynamic between Aaliyah and Alden. Writing their scenes is so much fun and you can feel the bond between them.

Question: How old are you guys? I'm 16.

Also, what do you think their two dogs' names should be? I'm open to any suggestions.

The next chapter will have lots of drama in it and it will be very emotional. So get ready guys!! Cuz it's finna get crazy😁😉
