Chapter 5: "Funny, I was gonna say the same thing to you,"
I push the cafeteria doors open and I and Kinsley walk in. People turn their heads at us and soon begin to whisper just like earlier. Do they ever get tired of gossiping about people?
The cafeteria is nice and there are so many tables. I see each table has its group. There's the popular kids' table, the nerds, the drama kids, the band geeks, and the kids who just sit there and play video games. Seems like there's still a group missing though.
I lean over to Kinsley. "Not that it's any of my business but I see that everyone has their table except one," I tell her. She furrowed her eyebrows for a minute and looks around.
"What do you mean? Everyone's here," she says.
"But not the bad boys," I say and give her a pointed look.
She laughs. "Oh, they don't always get here on time anyways. They like to make an entrance. Sometimes they don't come in here at all," she tells me.
"Hmm. I'm surprised," I reply.
We go to the lunch line and I see there are a lot of options to choose from. They have sandwiches, pizza, hamburgers, and salads. I choose pizza with a side of tater tots, fruit, and water. After paying for our lunch, we go to a table where we see a girl already sitting there.
We sit down and the girl looks up from her phone. She smiles at Kinsley and then over to me and her eyes go wide.
"You the new girl everyone's talking about," she says.
"Yea I've been getting that pretty much all day," I say in an annoyed voice and take a bite of my pizza. Damn this pizza is good.
She extends her hand to me. "I'm Jocelyn Reid," she says. I eye her hand before shaking it.
"Aaliyah Crossley," I reply. Jocelyn has long brown way hair and light blue eyes. She has a similar black leather jacket like mine that she's wearing.
She smirks. "Just out of curiosity, who was that boy in the parking lot?" she asks.
"Oh, that's my twin brother. We barely look alike at all," I say.
"A twin? Wow, that's so cool," Jocelyn replies.
"Yeah, I guess it is. So how long have you been friends?" I ask.
They both look at each other and smile.
"Since Sophomore year. I moved here in the middle of the year so I was the new girl. Kinsley saw me sitting alone, came up to me, and just started talking. Scared the crap outta me," she says. We all laugh and start talking about our likes and dislikes.
Suddenly the cafeteria doors burst open and everything goes quiet. I look up to see the three boys from this morning. AKA the bad boys.
They walk in like they own the place. The one on the left does a wink and I hear the girls sigh. The one on the right just has a smirk on his face. But the one in the middle, the same boy who pissed me off earlier just has a blank face on. No emotion whatsoever and no smirk.
They walk to an empty table on the right side, which is opposite from us, and sit down. One of them asks the other two something and he then goes up to the lunch line. The cafeteria becomes loud again just like it was before. I wonder does this happens very often. I'm sure it does. I turn back to the girls I now might consider my friends.
"OK spill. Who are those three?" I ask.
Jocelyn looks at me with a raised eyebrow. "You mean to tell me you have been acquainted with them but you don't even know their names?" she asks in shock.
I shrug. "I mean it's not like I asked them and nobody told me anyways. I think people are scared of me now since it happened," I say to her.
"Oh, well that makes sense. Now I will explain who they are. Do you see the one on the left? That's Grayson Carter. He's the nice one out of the group. He's a total prankster and joker. He can be very charming and he's a total lady's man. He goes through girls faster than a guy who can run track. And even though he may be nice he can be mean sometimes and you don't want to piss him off. Trust me I've seen it. Those two are his best friends and if you mess with them you're messing with him too," she explains.
I nod my head. He didn't seem to mean when I met him but hey we all have that side and life isn't all rainbows and sunshine. I know that because I have lived it and gone through it.
"Now the one on the right that's Kaiden Thomas. Total bad boy and a person you especially don't want to piss off. Nobody and I means nobody doesn't be on his bad side. Kaiden is nice when he wants to be nice but most of the time he doesn't care. Nobody knows much about him because apparently, he likes to keep his life private as much as possible. He's a big total player. Gives girls what they want them then toss them aside like garbage," she tells me.
"So basically he fucks them and ditches them," I say very bluntly.
"Yeah basically," she says nervously and uncomfortable.
I nod my head over. "What about the last one?" I ask.
"Ah, that my friend is Halden Anderson. The school's most notorious bad boy. The worst of the worst. Number one player and the one person you don't want to piss off. I advise you to stay away from him. He's also rich so he practically gets away with everything. He doesn't seem to care about anything except his friends but he still manages to get perfect grades. And he doesn't even pay attention in class at all. Like Kaiden, he throws girls away like trash and they cry afterward. It's pathetic really and annoying. So yeah, just make sure you steer clear away from him. Don't wanna piss him off more, trust me," She says.
"Got it," I say and that's when the door burst, and my twin brother walks in with a smirk on his face. Great, here comes this idiot. I hear the girls sigh and I just roll my eyes.
I see that nothing has changed. He still gets the same attention just as back at home.
His eyes scan the cafeteria until they land on me and his smirk goes wider. I swear he better not come over here. He starts walking towards the table I'm sitting at and people follow his every move. He gets to the table and sits down beside Jocelyn across from me.
"Hey sis," Alden says still with that smirk.
"What do you want brother?" I ask with a roll of my eyes.
"Just wanted to see how my sis is doing," he says and leans back in his chair.
"Well I'm doing just fine, thank you, now go sit somewhere else," I say.
He gives me a pout. "Aw c'mon sis, that's no way to treat your brother and I wanna meet these pretty ladies here," he said and gives them a wink.
I don't budge. "No, you'll meet them another time," I say.
"Please?" he asks giving me the puppy eyes. Oh no. He knows I can't resist them.
"Fine you can stay but stop flirting with my friends," I tell him.
"I accept your deal, now I heard about your little incident," he says.
"Of course you did. I'm pretty sure the whole goddamn school knows now," I say.
Alden shakes his head. "My sister can't even go a day without causing trouble," he says.
I just smirk at him. "You know me. I'm known for causing trouble. It follows me wherever I go," I say and pop a french fry in my mouth.
He turns to my friends. "I'm Alden," he says and holds out his hand.
They both shake his hand. "Kinsley, Jocelyn," they both say.
"Pleasure to meet you both ladies," He tells them with a wink and I kick him in the knee.
He grabs his knee and looks at me. "Oww. What was that for?" he asks with a glare.
I give him a hard glare back. "I told you to start flirting with them," I say.
"I wasn't. I was just being friendly," he argues back.
"Oh please. You flirted with my girlfriends back in Florida," I say with a pissed tone.
He scoffs. "I did no such thing," he shouts and some people look our way.
"Bullshit, you--,"
"Guys I hate to break up this little banter y'all have going on but bad boys alert. They're staring at us. All three of them," Jocelyn said interrupting us.
I turn around and see that all three of them are looking at us with blank expressions. I give them my hard cold stare that's enough to make somebody shiver. Two of them look away but the one with the dark brown eyes keeps my stare. We have a staring contest for about five minutes until I finally break the stare and turn back around. I can still feel the boy's eye on the back of my head.
"What is their problem? One of them was mad because my sister pissed him off and now the others hate us for some reason? Like seriously calm down, it's not even a big deal. They need to leave my sister alone or they are going to seriously regret it. They better be glad my sister didn't beat they're assess right then and there," my twin says.
"I doubt she could anyways. Halden has been in so many fights and puts so many in the hospital. One time he beat a dude senseless his friends had to pull him away and the dude was in a coma for like a month or so. When Halden fights, he loses control of himself. Sometimes nobody can retain him. Not even his two best friends," Kinsley tells us.
Wow, he sounds exactly like me. Just how bad is this dude?
"well, I don't like him. Stay away from him, sis. He seems like huge trouble and I don't want you getting caught up in that stuff too," Alden tells me.
I tilt my head. "Funny, I was gonna say the same thing to you," I say.
"I mean it is," my brother says with his serious face. When he has the face he means business.
I put my hands up. "Ok ok, I'll stay away from him," I say.
"That's good to hear. I'm going back to my friends. See you, ladies, later," he says and walks off.
I tell the girls I'm going to go throw the trash away. I get up and walk to the nearest trashcan which is by the door. I throw it away and turn around to see the bad boys at their table looking at me again.
I give them a menacing glare and walk back to my table and sit down. I join in the conversation with my friends about celebrities and the whole time I'm feeling a set of eyes staring at the back of my head. I don't even bother to turn around because I already know who it is. He can stare all he wants to but I'm not going around.
Ten minutes later the bell rings for the next period and we grab our bags as we getting up. I tell the girls I gotta go to my locker and they agree to go with me. We head to the door and on the way we pass the bad boys which I give them my middle finger without even looking at them.
Life is great
A/N:
Well, the was an interesting chapter. Took so long for me to finish and now I did. Seems like Aaliyah has the boy's attention but doesn't want anything to do with them. Do you think she will ever talk to them?
Jocelyn is a bubbly person, isn't she? Do you like her character so far?
What about Alden? Is he too protective over his sister?
Will Aaliyah listen to her brothers' advice or ignores everything?
Hopefully, we can find out more in the next chapter. It will also have more surprises. Can't for it to be read. Enjoy the chapter! Peace✌
