four hours later and the problem at the warehouse has been sorted and you are back at your place thinking about the figure you saw at the scene and you hear a knock on the door.

"who is it" you say as you open the door

"it's me Jay can I come in" Jay asks

"yes you can" you say as he enters

"you know how you asked me about your brother" he asks

"yes?" you say confused

"well I did do some digging and I discovered that someone did use (Y\L\N) as an alias to stay at a hotel but I think I saw him do you mind if I have a look at a photo of him" Jay asks

"no I don't mind" you say passing him the photo you found in your apartment the other day

"actually I did see a man that looked like this but he had half his face covered" Jay says he gets a text

"do you mind if I go" he says as he checks his phone

"if its work than go" you say 

a day later and you are in the locker room of firehouse 51 and you are distracted by the news that your brother is possibly still alive

"hey (Y\N)" Severide says as he opens his locker and starts looking for something

"Hey Kelly" you reply a little out of it

"what's wrong" he says picking up on the fact that you  are distracted

"nothing is wrong it's just I got some news that I am happy about but I don't know what to do about it " you reply

"will you tell me" he asks trying to fish the info from you

"no I will tell Matt and no one else will know" you  tell him sternly and you close your locker and leave.

five minutes later and you are outside Casey's office you knock on the door

"come in (Y\N)" he relies to your knock and you enter his office

"Hey Matt there is something I need to talk to you about and it's kind of important," you say

"ok than sit down and we will talk" he replies as you sit down on the end of his bed

"I will start with a hypothetical question" you say unsure of how to tell Matt what is going on

"if a loved one you thought had died but didn't actually die" 

"I would be A) confused and B) really happy why?" he replies 

"well you know how I told you my brother died he is not actually dead" you reply with a relived tone "

that's good news" Casey adds to the end of your sentence

"I thought my brother was dead," you say before you cry tears of joy
