"Long ago, I died trying to protect my home, my family. But in the end, I was killed by the Dark Triad. If that wasn't enough, Vanica and her devil Megicula cursed me. I was brought back to life and used as a puppet to do her bidding."

Silver soon began to tell Kyoya the truth. There was no point in trying to hide the fact. He of all people needed to know the truth. Silver was the loser and he accepted that fact. Actually, it was more accurate to say he wanted that outcome.

"You really are my dad.....so why? Why didn't you try to find me? Do you have any idea what happened?! The same woman who cursed you got her hands on me!!!! Even now I still have to live with what she did to me!!! I lost my best friend!!!!! I lost my teacher!!!! Where were you when I needed you most?!"

"You have every right to be mad at me. But just as you thought I was dead, it was the same on my end. When I began to kill many enemies of the current Spade Kingdom, I asked Vanica if you were alive. Yet I never had an answer. Slowly as the years flew by, I thought you were truly dead. Over that time......when I was out on a mission, I fell into a place known as the Sanctuary...and I met the person who gave me hope."

~Flashback~
As Silver looked around, he saw that he was in a grassy field. Not only that, he sensed someone's presence nearby. As he looked ahead, he saw a woman sitting at a table all by herself.

"Silver Fullbuster.....it's nice to meet you. My name is Echidna, though most know me as the Witch of Greed. I'm sure you've heard the rumors right, about my vast amount of knowledge. So then, did you come here seeking something from me?"

"No, i've only stumbled upon this place by mere coincidence. My one wish....I just wanted to protect everyone and I paid for that unrealistic dream with my life. I don't want any money or power and I have no real desire, so please let m-"

"I disagree. You want to bring back someone you lost. You might want money. You might want a lover. Or you might want the power to protect people. These are all common things people want. Things that their hearts desire. Greed may not be so good, but it's not bad either. You humans think greed is all about money and power, but deep down everyone wants something they don't have."

Silver listened to Echidna's words. She was right, he couldn't deny it. As she looked at Silver, Echidna began to question the man one more time out of her own curiosity.

"What desire do you have, Silver Fullbuster? If you want, I can nullify the part of your curse that has you act on Vanica's command. Or maybe you simply wish to die? Or do you want your precious wife who died to be brought back to you?"

"...there is only one thing I want. Echidna, Witch of Greed, I ask of you.....is my son, Kyoya Fullbuster, still alive?"

"..............yes, your son is still alive. He's actually one of the few individuals known as a Child of Sin, who has made contact with m-"

Before Echidna could finish her sentence, she saw Silver getting on his knees and holding her hand. As she looked at him, she saw that the man had tears in his eyes as he repeated one thing.

"Thank you.....thank you.....thank you so much. I am truly grateful...thank you."

".....your son has a battle in his near future. One where he needs his true strength. If you want, I have a request. Become the last Child of Sin, the Child of Gluttony. If you do so, I will give Kyoya's inheritance to you and you can wield it until he defeats you and make it his own. It's close Silver, your revenge against the Dark Triad is in his hands."

~Flashback ends~
"After I accepted her terms, I was no longer bound to Vanica. But how many years I could keep moving depended on me. I moved for so many years, for the sake of getting revenge on the bastards who took my family from me."

"Dad........"

"Before I met Echidna, I was planning on weakening them little by little and eventually carry out my plan to kill them. But then I learned that you were alive, and I realized.....my hands are too stained with blood to fight for you or your mother's sake."

Kyoya looked at his father in shock. All this time, he carried the burden of being responsible for the deaths of many.  Then he asked his father one thing.

"Is this why you want to die?"

"I'm already dead. It's more accurate to say I want my existence to end....after leaving everything to you. In that fight, you pushed your fear aside just to protect your comrades from me. For that moment, you've moved pass that trauma. It's ok....you're going to be fine. I'm sorry, I was cruel to you and even hurt you. You can forget about me, i'm just a dead man in the end."

Kyoya clenched his fists as he looked at Silver. After hearing all this, what was he suppose to say to him. Only one answer came to the boy's mind.

"But still.....you're my father!!!"

"No....any man who would even THINK of laying a hand on his child doesn't deserve to be a father. No father should hit his son."

Tears ran down Silver's face. He meant every single word that he said to his son. When Kyoya looked at him, he silently crafted a sword made of ice.

"So....you wanted this all to end?"

"Please, help me rest in peace and be with your mother once more."

As Silver said this, Kyoya held the sword made of ice. While this was happening, Silver saw that the boy's hand was shaking uncontrollably.

"Don't hesitate!!!!! I froze Sun Village in ice! I left you to fend for yourself even after being brought back to life!! I threatened to kill everyone you cared for!!!! I am your enemy!!!!!!"

"You're right. Even if you're my dad, you're an enemy of my home. And we won't stand for anyone trying to destroy it."

"That's how humans are....."

Silver closed his eyes as he was ready to accept his face. As Kyoya held his sword, he immediately swung the blade. However, he didn't hit Silver. He simply dispelled the sword as it got close to him. When Silver opened his eyes, he saw his son in tears.

"But even still.......I can't kill you dad! I....I don't want to lose you again!!!!"

"That's also what it means to be human. Either way, my body won't last long. You've become a good man, Kyoya. You made me proud to be your father. If she was here....your mother would be happy to see the man you've become. You're our pride and joy."

Silver embraced his son as they were both in tears. While this happened, Silver's body was slowly breaking apart. Noticing this, he decided to leave a few things to his son.

"Kyoya....you still have someone else to beat in this fight of yours, i'm sure you already knew that. But there is another reason why I mastered Devil Slayer Magic. The Dark Triad being one of them. The second reason.....they've added something dangerous to their arsenal. The name of this enemy is E.N.D. Since I can't do it....I'll leave it in your hands. This magic, this legacy, this inheritance. All of it belongs to you. Goodbye, I love you son. Out of all of the things i've achieved, having you as a son was the greatest moment of my life."

With those parting words, Silver's body was completely gone. As Kyoya stood in silence, he wiped away his tears. As he looks to the sky, he saw Yuno flying down towards him with other magic knights. While this happened, Kyoya spoke to himself.

"Rest in peace dad. As for me, there is still someone else who needs my help. As for the enemy, if you think this magic will help me then the enemy must be one of THEM, huh? Don't worry, dad. I swear.......as an Ice Devil Slayer, i'll defeat any devil that crosses my path."

The inheritance is finally complete. After so many years, the wish and magic of the father has been passed down to the son. Kyoya Fullbuster's true magic has finally been revealed. A new Ice Devil Slayer has been born.
