~Flashback~
"Look at him. He isn't looking so smug without his father or mother around."

"His dad use to be a guard for the royal family here, yet he died for nothing. Now the Zogratis Family has taken over the Spade Kingdom."

As some of the people of the Spade Kingdom looked forward, they saw a young boy walking down the streets. He looked starved and he had bags under his eyes. Soon a couple of kids his own age suddenly punched him to the ground.

"It's your fault! If your dad was stronger.....he could've saved my parents!!!!!!"

"Please stop.........."

It was always like this ever since the Spade Kingdom was taken over by the Zogratis family. People instantly wanted someone to blame but they were too weak to do so on the people responsible, so they blamed the child of a man who died while trying to defeat the Zogratis Family and defend the Spade Kingdom's real royal family.

"Please stop......."

The boy kept pleading for his attackers to stop. While this happened, they felt the air getting colder. However, since the Spade Kingdom is usually snowy, they thought it was the weather. Soon one of the kids hits the boy's head with a wooden stick. As the boy felt a sharp pain in his head, he began to feel something warm on his face.

As he looked to the snowy ground, he saw the snow turn from white to red. When he felt his head and looked at his hand, his hand was covered in red. Its hurts, it hurts, it hurts, it hurts. Those two words kept repeating in his head as his body felt cold. Just when he turned around, he saw the kid about to hit him on his head again. When this happened, he screamed out as his body felt completely cold.

"PLEASE STOP!!!!!!!!!!!!"

~Meanwhile~
"So bored. There hasn't been anyone strong to fight with. Though I guess using those rabbits outside of here as subjects for my curses wasn't so bad."

Vanica Zogratis, a member of the Dark Triad. Her along with two more people usurped rule of the Spade Kingdom from the royal family, House Grinberryall. As she was walking through a small town, she suddenly felt colder than usual as she felt a strong surge of magic power.

"This magic....someone powerful is here."

Vanica soon rushed forward as she took out her grimoire, ready to fight and torture her next victim. However, she was shocked by what she saw. Multiple houses and countless people were frozen in ice. She was starting to get excited. She could tell someone with tremendous magic power pulled this off.

"Please stop........I beg of you....please stop......"

Soon Vanica's eyes fell onto one child. When the child saw Vanica, he felt scared since he knew she was one of the people responsible for corrupting the Spade Kingdom. As he tries to run away, Vanica ran towards him and kicked him to a wall.

"You have so much potential. A few more years.....if you age just a few more years.....I can finally enjoy myself in a good fight!!!!!! What's your name?!"

"K-Kyoya Fullbuster......."

When she heard this, a vicious smile appeared on her face as she hits Kyoya on his head which knocked him out. He was the son of the man that gave her, and the rest of the Dark Triad, a lot of trouble taking over the Spade Kingdom.

"Not only does he have potential....he also has a reason to want to kill me. Humans always seem to fight harder when they have a reason and a strong emotional drive. I can't wait to kill you when you grow up. To make sure you never end up dying before we meet, i'll give you a present!!!! You're lucky, since Megicula wants me to do this then you must be special."

As Vanica said this, her grimoire opened up. Soon multiple dark hands were rising from the snowy ground as they slowly wrapping around Kyoya. Soon one of the hands sunk its claws into Kyoya's right pectoral. The boy coughed up blood as all the hands from the curse were entering his body through the wound. When it was done, a single mark appeared on his chest.

Vanica smiled as she picked up the boy and was walking to a certain location for kids when they've got tremendous magic power. She wants Kyoya to grow strong, she wants to fight him, she wants to kill him. Just the thought of it was making her heart race.

~Meanwhile~
"Kurono, we've received word that Ms.Vanica is bringing another child here. Apparently he's the son of Silver Fullbuster!"

"Is that so? Then you get the training room ready. I'm sure bullying him will be a lot of fun."

As Kurono said this, he was walking to the training room. While this happened, Vanica has walked inside of the facility as she made her way to the lab. Kyoya soon began to open his eyes. When he did, he started to squirm as he tries to escape.

"Let me go!!!! Let me go!!!! I just wanna go home."

"Poor child. This is your home now. My name Vanica and I brought you here for your own good. There's children here like you. You'll have a home, food, and you'll become super strong. Whenever you fear for your life or want to leave this place just say this phrase to give yourself a little motivation."

Soon Vanica whispered something in his ears. Afterwards, she slammed him into the ground. As she looked forward, she saw that Kurono was sitting in the testing room. Seeing this, she dragged Kyoya into the testing room.

"Well then, i'll leave the boy's development into your hands. Do a good job. Kyoya Fullbuster is my new prey after all."

As Vanica said this, she left with a smile on her face. While this happened, Kurono just sighed as he looked at the child closely. Soon a small smile was appearing on his face.

"So weak......Kyoya Fullbuster, when you wake up you have an experiment with Uncle Reaper."

~Flashback ends~
As Kurono was standing outside of the Sanctuary, he suddenly felt a strong concentration of mana approaching. When he turned around, he saw a woman suddenly try to throw a punch at him.

Seeing this, he quickly stepped to the side as he sweeps her by the leg. As she was about to fall, she quickly spun her body and kicked Kurono. While this happened, Kurono used his left hand to catch the woman's kick. Soon the woman spoke as she looked at Kurono.

"I came back to the Clover Kingdom because I was summoned by Julius. But I sensed some strong magic power here and found you. Judging by your looks, you must be a foreigner. What are you doing here?"

"It's not like I have anything to hide. I'm from the Spade Kingdom and came to do my job."

Soon the two jumped back to gain some distance. As the woman looked ready to fight him, Kurono sighed. This woman was too strong for his tastes. He wasn't feeling motivated to fight her, but since there's a chance she might disturb the trial he has to distract her or at least send her away.

"Honestly, I should be paid more than i'm getting considering all the trouble i'm going through. So then, who in the world are you?"

As Kurono said this, his grimoire floats next to him as he unbandaged his right arm. When the woman looked at the cover of his grimoire, she saw a spade on its cover. A ferocious smile appeared on her face as her own grimoire was next to her.

"My name is Mereoleona Vermillion. Didn't anyone tell you what happens when you trespass on a lion's territory? Well then, I guess you'll have to learn the hard way!!!!!"
