Chapter 60
Fed up of being the shoulder you cry on, I want to be the shoulder you lie on
Everyday, every night. I'll be fine, I'll be fine. If you're mine
Fed up of being the one that you lean on, I want to be the one that you dream of
Everyday, every night, I'll be fine (I'll be fine, I'll be fine)

"Aaaaand SHOOT!" the loud voice of our coach echoed around the practice room. It was 1 pm. Classes ended by 12:30 today and me, Grace and Leo were sitting on the chairs along with Greg, as we watched Nate practicing his aim. Even though he was already perfect, he had to practice to make it more convincing. "Psst! We need to get to the dance room by 1:30!" whispered Leo from behind me. I looked at my watch, showing me that it was 1:15 pm already. "Let's go!" I said, and we waved the other two as we went out. Since the dance room was on the other side of the school, we had a walk of 5 minutes ahead us. "So you better Sparky?" Leo's voice broke me out of my little trance about what we may be doing in the dance. "Huh?" I asked in confusion. He sighed. I felt his arm around my shoulder, pulling me towards him. He steered me away to a quiet corridor. "What are you doing! We need to get back or we're gonna be late!" I said, half giggling as he was now pulling me across the grassy patch. "We've still 5 minutes." he said, as he lay down on the grass. "Come on! It's not like you enjoy the sun everyday KC!" he said, patting next to him. I gave in an sat with my back leaning against him, my head half on his shoulder.
We just sat as we used to, enjoying the warmth the sun was providing us with. "Come on. Let's go!" I said, as I lifted my head away from the ground. "Stop right there!" his warning stopped me from moving further. He reached up to my hair, pulling something out of it slowly. I could feel my pink streak glowing in the light as it always does, but somehow, my cheeks grew darker. "L-leaf!" he said, and looked down at his hand, but my eyes remained fixated on his face. Somehow, he seemed to be glowing like a soft candle. I gulped trying to figure out what I was feeling. "Well, um-" he suddenly looked up, and I hadn't realized that I had leaned in so close that our noses touched. In a flash, not knowing what I was doing, I felt my lips on his. He didn't kiss me back at first, but after a second pulled me in by my neck. After what felt like eternity which was actually just a mere 10 seconds, we pulled away, resting our foreheads on each others'. Not able to help myself, I gave myself away with a small smile. "Let's go?" he asked. I nodded, and he pulled me up quickly with one hand.
"Today, we won't be doing much. Just a couple warmup exercises. We need to make sure you're all warmed up for practice from tomorrow!" Miss Marlow, the dance teacher told us as all the students who were selected for the event. Leo was on the other side of the room though. She had decided to separate us gender wise, so that she could partner us up for the final day. "Now, one...two...three...four! Two...two...three...four!" and that's how warm up went on.
An hour passed.
"Tough warmup today huh?" asked Felicity, a girl from another department as we both were getting our bags. "Yeah. She's making sure we're ready for the coming days." I replied. "See you later KC!" she waved and went off. Looking around the room for Leo, I found him on the other side, packing his own bag. Looking up, he made eye contact with me and waved me over. I nodded and started walking over to him, but someone bumped so hard into me, knocking me backward. It was a black haired boy aka Jeremy, the new guy. He turned back, but the look in his eyes gave me chills, familiar but still, unfamiliar. "Watch where you're going!" he said, and something near my neck burned again. My hand, on instinct, went to cover the fire shaped figure which, hidden under my shirt, had suddenly given me a sting. I felt two hands on my shoulders, and a voice on the right of my face. "Whatcha lookin' at?" I heard Leo whisper, causing me to shiver slightly since he said that extremely close to my ear. I turned round and I saw him put his hands in his pocket, taking out his phone. "Come on! Greg said he needs help with something." and we both went home, only to see the twins seated on the floor, with everything spread around them.
"Come on guys! We've got a lot to do!" and with a flick of his hand, Greg pulled Leo and I so that we too were seated on the floor.
