Ch.3 Oh 'Snap'!
Sans POV
The temperature is quite warm today, about 70°...I probably didn't need the hoodie but I never go anywhere without it.
Being a skeleton and all, I shouldn't be able to feel temperature.
But everyone forgets; we're not human skeletons, we're monster skeletons. Being a monster means we are filled with magic and such which gives us these human-like (or ANY living being) functions...depending on the species of that is. All monsters have magic, but not everyone has the same amount. If your magic exceeds enough it can be very powerful in battle. Basically all monsters have magic to a certain degree.
...it's complicated.
Magic enables us to eat, drink, breathe, feel, etc. etc. need I explain any further?
Okay enough science.
I was going to teleport there but I think today I'll just walk. Off down the sidewalk I go. Grillby's is only three blocks from where we live.
Oh speaking of living arrangements, we all decided to live together in the Dreemur household. Which we built. It only look three weeks to build believe it or not. With everyone using magic and all. The humans were amazed at how fast we worked.
It's pretty much a small mansion. Three floors, six bedrooms, plus the necessary rooms; three bathrooms, a percent sized kitchen (only a bit bigger than the one she had in the underground) with an equally sized dining room. The living room is a little bigger than the kitchen and dining room combined plus a big basement which we have no idea what to do with.
Alphys wants to turn it into her new lab but uh...I'm not sure how many more Amalgamite type incidents we can take. I'm not saying she's a screw up, I'm just speaking for all of us when I say we don't want to risk losing what we worked so hard to build to an experiment gone wrong. Which is bound to happen if she makes the basement into a lab...believe me...I've seen it.
The humans' president, Bernie Sanders, provided all monsters with cramped up living spaces until we could afford and/or build a new one after a few meetings with Asgore, Frisk, and publicly, a big group of humans and monsters. He...was also baffled by how fast we managed to get/build new places.
The majority of monsters now live in a house they built themselves, or an apartment/house they bought. There are only about 70-75 monsters still living in the provided homes. At least it's not cramped anymore. I'm sure they'll figure things out soon.
I was so deep in thought about the many many ways Alphys could destroy our home and other stuff that I almost missed yet another thing new in this timeline.
"I-is that...?"
"Is what?" I hear two voices. Both seemingly feminine. I'm at the corner of a block waiting for traffic when a tall girl presumably around 15-16 years old a few buildings down is staring at me in awe for a moment. I try my best to seem like I didn't notice. Fail?
"It IS!" I see next to her a shorter girl who looks... well, I can't really tell because she's facing her friend. Nevermind she just turned to me. She seems to be in her late teens, maybe?
"Oh no..."
The taller girl strides my direction. Uh oh...the traffic hasn't eased up yet...crap...should I teleport? No that'd be rude.
Wait. Why do I care whether I'm being rude or not? I mentally sigh. I guess Papyrus is beginning to rub off on me.
The tall girl reaches me with the shorter one not far behind.
"Oh...My...GOD!" Her eyes are lit up brighter than the sun.
"Uh...sis?" They're sisters. Huh.
"Now's not the time!!" She pulls out a camera I surprisingly didn't notice hanging around her neck and -Click!- takes a picture. I begin to sweat...this...is kind of uncomfortable. "You're a monster! And not just a monster but a skeleton! I haven't met one of your kind yet!!" Click! Another picture. "This is the best moment in my entire life!" Wow. The exaggeration is real here.
God someone help.
There's a very small pound in my head before a thought unlike my own appears.
It sounded like: Sorry Sans I can't do much from this side of the screen...Is this the reader? My imagination maybe? Should I play along? I guess so.
'heh, that's true ComicalPhandom...well...kind of....'
"Sis..." As if on cue the shorter girl tries to get her attention again. Fail. The taller girl keeps rambling about the monsters she's met. I just nod along the way.
"SIS!" This finally snaps her out of her rant. "As much as I know you love taking your pictures, you're being rude. You didn't even ask the guy if you could take pictures of him."
"My gosh you're right! I am so very sorry Mr. Skeleton man! Y-you are a skeleton right?"
"uh...yeah...I'm a skeleton. and forget about it...just warn me next time, sans is the name." I fumble for a second in my pocket quickly placing the miniature whoopie cushion in my hand and take it out for her to shake. She does so with a big grin, I return it. Hers soon disappears due to the sound of the whoopie cushion. Her jaw drops slightly. I just smile wider.
"O-oh my god..." She removes her hand away from mine as if she's just touched fire. This causes the toy to fall to the ground "It is now the worst moment in my life!" She turns towards the other girl. "First you now him...I can't take it!" She storms off in the direction they came from.
Her sister snorts. I give a small laugh as well.
"hehe the old whoopie cushion in the hand trick. works every time."
"Yeah, haha. Oh you dropped it." She walks over, bends, and picks it up. "Here," she hands it to me and smiles. "Sorry about my sister by the way." She gestures behind her. "She's a bit..." She can't seem to control the grin plastered on her face. Wait...do I hear a joke on the way? "...'snappy'." I snort. That was really bad.
Yet I can't deny a bad joke. I chuckle.
"she certainly was gone in a 'flash'."
She laughs. "Nice one! So...if you don't mind me askin', where are you headed?"
"nah i don't mind, Grillby's why?"
"Heh...that's hilarious."
I give a confused look.
"We were just on our way there."
"huh, what a coincidence."
"Yeah...see, my sister is in the photography club at her school. She wants to be a photographer. Not just any photographer though, the one who can get a picture of every single species of monster in their simple everyday life. Whether it's out walking, ahem," she gestures towards me ",or mingling with humans, etc. As long as she captures the monsters. Heh...my sister's pretty sweet." That sounds kind of like someone I know.
"now that's hilarious. she kind of sounds like my brother, Papyrus. he's pretty cool."
Then I realize something.
"hey i haven't caught your names yet."
"I haven't thrown them yet." That joke is so cliche.
"touché. but still it'd be nice to properly greet a new pal."
"Pal huh? Okay, well my sister's name is Y/N. I'm Sierra...I just realized something...aren't Sans and Papyrus text fonts?"
((I REALLY HATE TO SPOIL BUT SO MANY PEOPLE GIVE UP ON THIS STORY AFTER READING WHO Y/N IS. IT'S A TROLL. Y/N IS ACTUALLY THE SHORT ONE THAT DOES LIKE PUNS. SHE'S PULLING A MINOR PRANK.))
"nice names, and isn't Sierra a photo effect or filter?"
"Got me there. Wanna go to Grillby's?"
"yeah. bringing Y/N?"
She smirks. "Yep. Just uh...give me a minute?"
"k." She starts to walk off, hands stuffed in her white, blue, and green striped hoodie. Suddenly she turns around.
"Better yet, why don't you meet us there? This...might take awhile."
"fine with me." I shrug and feel my left eye-socket glowing. Blue surrounds me and I teleport. Not before seeing Sierra's shocked face though.

Boondoggle! (Totally a thing)
Chapter 3 done!!
This chapter and the last were originally meant to be one whole one but eh...I felt like they were better seperate.
PS who did you think was Y/N upon first meeting the two girls?
AGAIN about the picture. This is not intended to be what you look like. I needed a picture fur the girl side, this is also kind of how I imagine Y/N. I have to have an image in mind to help me write. You can imagine your own features; there's still that option :)
Vote Comment Share and all that bizz.
I'll start up chapter 4 soon!
SEE YA GUBBLERS!!!
