Chapter 5: School Was a Bad Idea
Hello! How are you guys? :D
Now, before I start the chapter I'd like to say this:
Can you believe that summer is already almost over? Because I can't!
Some people my age (high school) are probably really sad that they have to return to school.
Is it bad that I'm actually excited for school? xD I mean, I love summer with all my heart. It means more updates ;), but also, I'm really enjoying high school. I get to see my friends, the teachers are actually very nice, and I'm not upset about going every morning.
Sure I have those days where I can barely pull myself out of bed every morning. XD (You should see me. It takes my dad a couple times for him to come and tell me I need to wake up.) But for some reason, I enjoy school. Yes, sometimes I despise going and I really just want to stay home and write or play Sims and watch Netflix/YouTube, but then there's time's I just love school.
Am I the only one? o:
Sorry for the long A/N just thought I'd get that out there. XD
Enjoy!

Jackson and I finished two movies and were starting our third when I heard the basement door open and footsteps walk down. I, being the lazy person I am, didn't even move from the position I was in, which was me stretched out on the couch and pressed against Jackson.
"Faye?" I heard. I looked from the TV screen and saw Quince standing in the door-frame with her friend. Demetria I think.
"Oh," I said, yawning. I dozed on and off throughout the movies, and was a little sleepy. I didn't sit up, still. "Hey."
"Hey," Quince replied, grinning. She gestures to the girl beside her. "You remember Demi right?"
Demi smiles kindly at me, giving a small wave. "Hi there."
"Oh, yeah," I say to Quince, waving back at Demi. "Yeah I remember you."
"Well," Quince said, glancing at Demi with a small grin, "I talked with your Mom and she said that we were still able to go to the spa for free."
I blinked. The spa..going again did sound nice.
"And Lucy and I were thinking," she continued, "that maybe you could use another spa day."
I lean against Jackson, who chuckled, pressing a kiss against my shoulder. "You do seem tense lately, butterfly."
I open my eyes and turn to face him, trying not to grin. I look at him sternly. "Stay out of this, mister."
I heard a giggle from Demi.
Jackson grins, winking at me. "Just saying."
I roll my eyes at him then turn back to face them. "Yeah I guess I can go, since Mom pulled me out of school for good. She said that school was a 'bad idea'."
"Wasn't it?" Jackson asked, raising an eyebrow.
I elbowed him playfully. Quince chuckled. "Alright. We'll go on Thursday."
"Cool," I said. When Quince and Demi left, we went back to the movie.
Jackson played with my hair, which was relaxing and made me sleepy.
"So," Jackson murmured when the movie ended. "What now? We still have a few movies to go."
"We can do this again tomorrow?" I suggested hopefully.
He smiles. "Anything for you."
Regretfully, Jackson and I left the warmth of our little couch nest and put the candy in my mini-cabnits and threw the trash away. I left the movies as they were, and Jackson and I cleaned up around the TV and couch. When it was clean like before, I grabbed the books and smiled at Jackson.
"Tonight was great," I tell him, smiling softly at him. "It helped me a lot."
He pulls me into a hug. When he pulls back he says, "Well, it's not over yet. We still have tomorrow. All day."
"Can't wait," I murmur, leaning up and pressing my lips to his for a moment then pull away and say, "Goodnight."
"Dream well, butterfly." He smiled at me, making his way upstairs.
The moment he pulled away from me I felt scared. I felt all alone right now, even though I've always felt comfort down in the basement.
"Wait," I call up, running to the stairs.
"Yes?" He turns back to me.
"Can you," I begin, swallowing a lump in my throat. "Can you stay here tonight?"
He walks down the steps, eyes filled with concern and worry. "Are you okay?"
"I.." I sigh. I can't lie, I might as well tell the truth. "I'm scared, Jackson."
He presses his lips to my forehead, then looks at me in the eye. "Of course I'll stay with you tonight. Remember, Butterfly, I won't let anything happen to you."
I blink up at him. "I know."

When I woke in the morning in my bed, Jackson was in PJ pants, with no shirt. I look down at my attire, I was in shorts and a tank-top I lazily threw on before going to sleep in Jackson's arms.
I blush, remembering falling asleep the moment he wrapped his arms around me and pulled me into the crook of his arms.
I got up gently, not to wake him, and make my way to the bathroom and grab a pair of clothes; Skinny jeans, white flats, and a blue and white and black plaid button up shirt with a white tank-top to go under. I eyed the beautiful ruby Ken had given me and the just as beautiful orb with the blue smoke swirling.
Jordan called it magic. I made a mental note to ask Jackson about that right after my shower and unhooked the necklace. I pulled the orb from Ken's ruby, and carefully placed both down on the sink.
I shower up, and dress. I brush my teeth, dry and put my hair in one of those cool buns. When I finished making the bun, a piece of hair fell in front of my face. Annoyed, and too lazy to start over, I braid the strand and let it stay in front of my face.
I grab the counter and lean down and put my shoes on. Until I hear a clank.
I shoot my head up and see that Ken's ruby was in the sink, but my orb had fallen in the drain.
"No," I murmur, grabbing the ruby and putting it in my pocket. I lean over and look into the sink. I see the blue orb glowing brightly in the darkness.
"Shit, shit shit!" I curse, frustrated. I pace.
"Faye?" Jackson furrowed his eyebrows, looking at me. "I heard you yell."
"I dropped the orb," I tell him hurriedly. "The orb with blue smoke. My sister says it's-that it's magic or something."
Jackson didn't look panicked. "Butterfly. First things first calm down."
"What if I lose it?" I mutter, ignoring him. "My parents will kill me."
"Butterfly!" I look at Jackson.
"What?"
"Dragon Riders have magic," he says to me, putting his hands on my arms to keep me from pacing. "All you have to do is use it to get the orb back."
"I haven't ever used magic, Jackson," I tell him.
He blinks slowly. "You haven't? Not once?"
"No," I say dryly, sighing.
"Not even the first spell every Dragon Rider learns at nine?" he asks, raising an eyebrow.
"No," I say again, glaring at him. "No. Nada. Nope. Nine."
"Okay," he sighed, running his hands through his hair. "Then watch this."
He walks to the sink and puts his hand over it.
He stared at his hand intensely and then he turns to be, hand clenched.
"What?" I ask.
He opens his hand, the orb in his palm.
I gasp. "Oh my gosh! How?"
"I used a retrieving spell," he explained, "It's one of the easiest to learn for your kind. For our kind, it's very difficult."
"Oh," I murmured taking the orb. "Thanks, Jackson." I lean and kiss his cheek.
"You're welcome."

Gaha! :D I posted!
I know it's short, but I felt bad for not updating the last chapter sooner, so I decided to post this today. :)
Until next time!
