Chapter 32: Excuse eh Mwah?

Hi everyone! So first off, I apologize for the weird way Wattpad's been acting. I don't know why it's being like that.

Chase Ellison as Jackson off to the side! NOTE: I do NOT own the picture. That goes to it's rightful owner.

'Hero' by Chad Kroeger feat Josey Scott, off to the side as well. NOTE: I do NOT own the song, lyrics, or video. Those go to the rightful owners.

Enjoy!

Jackson shoved me into the car and yelled at the driver to speed off.

"Ouch," I mutter, rubbing my aching body.

"Are you..?" he asks, turning to look at me.

"Sick? Yes." I sighed, frowning.

He pursed his lips. "They didn't give you medicine?"

"They did. I refused to take it."

"Why the hell woud you do that?!"

"Because I felt like a rebellious teenager," I reply dryly. I sighed and rubbed my face. "I was tired of that shit, okay? I wasn't gonna abide by their goddamn rules."

"Faye-"

I held my hand up. "Please..Just g-give me some time to recover at home before we even so much as open our mouths about these past few weeks."

Jackson and Lucy share a long look.

"What?" I demand.

"Faye," Jackson says slowly. "You do realize that-"

"Realize what?"

Lucy shifted in her seat awkwardly and looked out the window.

"Well?" I ask suspiciously, eyeing him.

Jackson pursed his lips. "Our wedding," he says, "is in two days."

*****************

Two days.

Well, technically one day now. After I got home last night, I ate some food and showered.

And now, I realized, my wedding is tomorrow.

TOMORROW.

And here I am, standing in the living room looking down at the invitation Mom had sent out five weeks ago.

You are warmly welcomed to attend the wedding of Faye Jade Foreigner and Jackson Ronald Hades.

The words were perfect I thought with a grimace. Way to perfect.

Mom stood behind me, just as she had been all day. It's getting quite annoying having her follow me around, asking me if I need anything.

"So..It looks nice dosen't it?" she told me, her feet brushing the carpet as she walked around to face.

I gently refold the invitation, feeling an annoyed feeling bubble up inside my chest. "You didn't even bother to ask me about it the week you sent it out?"

"Well." She frowned. "I just thought you would like it."

"It's not your wedding," I point out, rubbing my temples. Why must my parents make the arrangements and crap without even so much as asking me for a peek at the cards, or the balloons.

"I know," she replied, looking slightly guilty and yet smug. "But you do like it?"

"I guess so."

She looked even more smug.

"Why don't you go take a nap?" she suggested with a nudge.

"Mom." I scowled deeply. "Look. I've done nothing but sleep since one. I'm well-rested."

"But you have the wedding tomorrow," she reminded with a head tilt.

"I know. I'll be sleeping again tonight, thank you." With a lopsided grin, I flipped my hair.

She frowned. "But-"

"Mom." I gave her a 'really' look.

"Okay, okay." She shrugged, leaving me alone.

I looked down at the card again, running my fingers down the silver swirls that decorated them. I smiled softly as the smooth texture touched my finger.

I felt arms wrap around my waist and lips meet my neck. "Hello, beautiful."

My face was heating up, and I leaned against him saying, "Isn't it, what, bad luck or something to see the bride before the wedding?"

Jackson chuckled, moving my hair away from my shoulder and placing his lips on my shoulder. He rubbed my arms gently. "No, I don't think so."

I sighed as he ran his finger down my side, making me shudder in pleasure. "Okay," I mumble, "you need to behave."

"Aww, but love," he started, his lips grazing my neck as he spoke, "behaving isn't in my vocabulary."

"Put it in, then," I reply, leaving his arms. I put my hands on my hips, but winced.

"Are you okay?" He was instantly serious, at my side again.

"Y-yes," I mumbled. "Just still recovering is all."

"Are you sure?" he asked, his gaze worried.

"Yes," I assured him, smiling.

He hesitated, then nodded. "Okay, I'll behave."

"Good," I said, rolling my eyes and smiling.

A smirk then appeared on his face and he winked. "But after the wedding, I can't promise anything."

I blushed. Deeply. "Y-you-get out of here!" I slapped his arm.

He laughed loudly, blocking me with his arms and hands. "Jeez, woman!"

"Stop saying nasty things!" I yelled, blushing.

"You know you like it!"

I gasp and slap him harder.

"Ouch!" he laughed, rubbing his arms.

"Get out of here," I demand, pointing to the archway.

"Aww, come on."

"Out!"

He laughed and left.

What the hell am I gonna do with him?

*********

"Leto?" I went outside later after dinner dressed in a bathrobe, my hair up from my recent shower.

Leto's tail twitched, telling me she heard. She was looking off into the distance.

"Leto,"I repeat, putting my hand on her hip. As I walked up to her shoulder my hand ran up her smooth, shiny scales.

"Yes?" she murmured, glancing at me with a crystal eye.

"Please sleep," I suggest. Leto has never been so tense and edgy. She's been way to on edge since my kidnapping, ever so watchful and protective.

"I am fine," she replied shortly.

"Leto," I say for a third time. I heard her sigh heavily. I sat down by her.

She looked down at me then reluctantly lay down beside me, wrapping her tail around me. "Okay. I'm listening."

"Please get some sleep, Leto. I know it was hard, not hearing me. Not knowing where I am. It scared me, too."

"But you knew what was going on. Why we couldn't communicate."

"I know." I leaned against her, listening to her breath.

"I was scared," she tells me, her nostrils twitching. She had a frustrated look in her eyes as she talked to me. "I didn't know what to do. I-"

"I know," I whisper, looking at the setting sun, feeling melancholy. "I felt it too. I felt really empty."

"I'm never letting you out of my sight again, by the way," she said casually, snorting.

"Hey now," I said, raising an eyebrow. "Jackson might get a little jealous."

"I can always eat him."

I laughed, feeling joy spread through me. "You can't eat my fiance."

She looked thoughtful, then licked her lips in distaste. "You're right. He'd taste like droppings."

I laughed again, tears rising in my eyes.

Leto looked at me, teasingly. "What's so funny?"

"You, Leto."

"I am not funny. I was merely stating my food choices."
