Faye
I sit across from Arch, trying to push away the awkward feeling in the air. Jordan was currently in the bathroom for the third time since we got here. Apparently she said, "The baby causes me to have to pee more often," when really, I think it's to get Arch and I to get along more.
"So," Arch finally says, breaking the silence, "I hear a family member of yours recently died."
Why would he bring that up if he's trying to get me to like him?
"Yes." I tap the table, pleading silently for my name to be called so I can go get my coffee.
"I'm sorry for your loss," he says then, sounding genuinely sorry.
I give him the smallest of smiles. "Thank you. I just wish people would stop talking about it, though." I cock my head towards two men who were talking loudly about Jen's murder.
He followed my gaze and frowned deeply.
"What?" I ask, glancing back at them.
"Nothing," he murmured. "It's just.."
"Just what?"
He frowns more. "The one with brown hair, he's.."
"He's..?" I stare at him.
"He's wanted for assult of his ex-girlfriend and then for robbing a gas station." He narrowed his eyes directly at the man. "And in ten minutes he plans on-"
"Hey." Jordan walks up. "I see you two have been talking."
A glint in her eyes showed she was hopeful. "Yeah," I said, nodding as she sat down. "He's nice."
Arch, however, wasn't paying attention to either of us.
"Maybe we could go to the movies after this," Jordan says, smiling. "I don't think Arch gets out much, right?" she nudged him, which snapped him out of his trance.
"I think we should leave now." Arch stood so quickly, people shot him curious looks.
"What's the matter?" Jordan asks. "We're fine."
"No." Arch looked dangerously pale. "We need to leave."
"Ar-" Jordan was cut off when I'm grabbed by the scruff of my neck and pulled down. Screams and shocked noises sounded around us as I stagger back and look up to see the same two men standing behind me.
"What the hell!" Jordan is furious. She storms forward but the first man pulled out a gun.
"Don't move," he warned. Jordan and Arch froze.
Well, I thought, this escalated quickly. Very quickly.
I felt something cold and hard press to the side of my head and I gulped. I knew what it was, how could I not? But I still couldn't help but glance sideways and see the gun the second man was holding.
"Sir." A worker at the coffee shop stepped forward. "Put the gun down."
"Don't move!" The man yells again, then turned his gun on me. Great. Two guns in my face.
"Let her go," Jordan pleaded, while Arch's eyes turned from red to amber. His demon side was trying to come out.
"Do you want her to get a bullet to the head?" he snapped at my sister, gun on my stomach.
"No!" she screams.
"Everyone get down," he spat, and everyone, even Arch, obeyed.
He nodded to the second man. "Go get the money from every cash register."
The second man smirked and pulled the gun from my head, and I let out a sigh of reilef, until the gun shoved into my stomach more. "Quiet, or this bullet goes straight through you."
I clamp my mouth shut, tears streaming down my face as I watch Jordan sob uncontrollably and Arch try to comfort her.
"Let her go," Arch snarled finally after ten minutes of standing hostage.
"Shut up," the man spat. The gun didn't pull back.
"You don't want to mess with me," Arch warned, his eyes still changing back and forth.
"I said shut up!" the man screams, the gun clicking. Oh God. More tears streamed down went down my face as I tried to collect my breaths together.
"Please don't shoot my sister." Jordan looked up at him pleadingly.
"Don't worry," he sneers. "She might live."
I close my eyes and gulped.
"I got everything, K." The second man appeared, bags in his hands.
The first man, K apparently, smirked. "Well done. Take it to the truck."
Arch shot up, snarling. His eyes were blood red. "Let her go!"
"Sit the hell down!" K screamed, gripping the gun tighter.
Arch snared, curling his lip back. "Let her go or I'll kill you."
Everything then went slow. It was as if time had purposely slowed everything down. Smoke rose around Arch, and the man made a sound in his throat that sounded like fear.
The smoke faded, revealing a large, bear-sized wolf. It's fur was ragged and messy, smelling of death. It had blood red eyes and changes around it's neck, as if it were a token of freedom from the place it came. On each one of his legs were shackles, broken off from it's chains.
This was Arch, the demon from Hell.
But this demon was out for blood, and not just anyone's blood. He wanted K's blood, and he wanted it now.
"What the-" The man's eyes widened in fear and he turned the gun towards the demon who snarled and leaped at me, not K. Arch landed in front of me, roaring like a lion at K, and standing in a fighting stance as if to say, "Come and get her."
The man gulped, his gun switching from me to Arch, then he asked, "What are you?"
The wolf curled it's lips back, as if smirking. It lunged at K.
The gun went off.
Everything went black.

Jordan
"No!" I scream, tears falling from my eyes as I see not Arch, but Faye get hit. She stood there for a moment before she went limp and fell to the ground, and someone caught her, setting her down gently.
"Someone call 911!" I scream, sobbing as I crawled over to my sister.
Arch and K had both faded, and how nobody was wondering where they went or what Arch was is a mystery to me.
Someone shoved forward, making sure to keep Faye's heart working.
"Faye." I sobbed, sitting by her side.
"Stand aside!" someone else yelled, and a bunch of people in white came forward with a gurney. They gently set her on it and strapped her in. "Keep her breathing," one of the paramedics yelled, pulling out some hospital equipment.
Ten minutes, they carried her into the ambulance. I run after them and stop when one stopped me.
"She's my sister," I begged him, "Please let me ride with her."
"She's not stabilized," the paramedic says to me. "I'm not allowed to let anyone back there."
"Please-"
But the ambulance doors had shut, and it was racing off, taking Faye with them.
