I sigh as the woman in front of me scrunched her eyebrows together and pursed her lips in concentration. "I think," she says to me, tapping her chin, "that you need something..more."
I glance down at the big white dress. "Um."
"Don't you think, Carol?" The woman turned to my mother as if I hadn't made a sound.
Mom blinked at me, smiling. "What do you have in mind?"
I groaned. "Mom!"
"Let's see," the woman chirped, going to the front desk and pulling out the notebook and opening it. She turned through pictures of dress, accesories, etc.
"Do I get a say in this?" I demand, lifting a shoulder, which was aching with the weight of the dress pulling me down.
The woman, Terra, smiled at me and says, "Of course, sweetheart."
Which also means, "Not by a freaking long shot."
I glare as she turns back and Mom snaps her fingers at me. I turn to her and she had a stern look on her face, putting her fingers on her mouth and curving them as if to say, "Smile!"
I scowl at her before putting my brightest fake smile on as possible. She gives me a frustrated look but quickly replaced it with a smile when Terra turns back to us with the book in hand.
"I got an idea," she says to my mother.
Oh, did you? I thought sarcastically, That's great news!
And by the way, if I seem rude I probably am. Girl issues. T-O-M. Get the picture? It's made me have a bad mood, and I tried to talk Mom out of having me go today because of my attitude but she said no.
And thus, I'm having a very bad day. As in, 'if anyone gets near me I'll bite their head off' bad day. It's pretty entertaining, however, for Quince and Lucy who are sitting by my mother trying to keep those little mouths of those shut.
"..And maybe, just maybe we can have a scoop neckline or a sweetheart neckline," Terra was saying cheerfully to my Mom as she went to the back of the store. Lucy and Quince snorted with laughter.
I growled low and shot them daggers, and they glanced at each other but still had smirks on their faces.
"Find this funny?" I challenge them in a low voice.
"Actually," Lucy says, smirking, "I find it very funny, thanks for asking."
"You little-" I never finished the sentence because Terra returned, smiling, with a different dress.
You have got to be kidding me. I thought as I stared at the dress accusingly. Another dress?
"Here you go sweetie." Terra was holding the dress out expectantly to me and I narrowed my eyes, snatching it from her hands and storming from the podium thing and to the changing room.
"Need help?" Mom's voice asked.
"No." I lock the changing room, pulling the dress off myself.
I pull the dress off myself, throw it to the ground and attempt to my best to put the other one on.
I step out of the changing room, arms crossed with my best scowl on my face.
"Oh," Mom gasped, looking at me. "You're beautiful, sweetie."
Even Quince and Lucy's jaws were dropped.
"Thanks," I muttered, turning away.
"I think she's done for today." Terra took the other dress in her arms and nodded at me. "Go on then."
You had me change into this thing for no reason, then? I snarl inside my head, but breath a sigh of relief. At least I was done for the day.

When we got home, I took aspirin for the cramps and headache then shuffled downstairs to make a video for my YouTube.
I was doing a speed-paint of a leopard when I heard a knock on the door. I pause the camera on the computer and save what I have done real quick and look up to see Jackson.
"Oh," I said, blinking. "Hey."
"Hey." He tilted his head. "I heard you went dress shopping today."
I rolled my eyes. "Don't even get me started, okay? It was horrible."
"Lucy says you nearly punched the poor dress woman."
"Poor dress woman my ass," I reply dryly, "She even wouldn't let me get a say in what dress I could wear. It's not her wedding. Or my mom's. I think I should get a say."
"I know." He sits on the edge of my bed and turn my chair to face him. "Are you still-"
"Pissed off at you?" I finish, a small smiling curling my lips. "Yeah. But right now it's ten times worse since my emotions are all over the place."
"What do you mean?"
I raise an eyebrow at him. "You're clueless," I say, turning my chair back to the desk and go back to my drawing.
"About what?" he asked.
I grin to myself, but then frown when an image of him drinking dragon's blood flashes in my mind.
"Don't worry about it," I said then.
"Tell me."
"You don't want to know."
"Yes I do."
"Fine." I stop my drawing and whirl back to him, leaning forward. "When a girl comes of age, she prepares to have a baby."
"Of course," he said, rolling his eyes. "How else are children born?"
I stare at him. "Are you done interrupting?"
He opened his mouth, then nodded.
"Good." I grin. "Anyways, as us girls prepare to have a baby, sometimes we don't."
He blinks. God, he's clueless as hell.
"As in," I say slowly, trying not to laugh, "we don't need the.."
He stared.
"What do chickens lay?" I ask, annoyance rising up inside me.
"Eggs?" he said.
"Exactly." I nod. "And when fish lay eggs, a male fish needs to.."
"Fertilize it?"
"Good." I nod. "And when there's no male to fertilize it.."
"It..doesn't become born?" he says, looking a greenish color.
"Kind of."
"Oh..Oh!" Realization smacked on his face and he paled. "That's what you're going through right now."
"You make it sound like I'm dying," I replied dryly, "but yes."
"Why didn't you say so?" he asks, sighing. "We wouldn't have had to gone through that."
I smirk. "You never really asked. You're very clueless."
He glared at me.
I turn back to the computer, a smirk still playing my lips.
