VII
Prince Alec whistled as he walked down the halls of the castle. His hands clasped behind his back, his strides long and fast. He didn't know why he was heading down this way, but he ended up finding himself by Silva's room. The door was left open, like usually, but when Alec peered in, Silva was not there. Odd, he thought. He knew Silva was allowed to explore and go where she pleases, but since she's been here, she rarely left her room, having to have finally adjusted and called the little room her own. Alec would normally see her messing around her vials and different magic or see her heal a wounded or sick patient. She was quite good at it. Even though the staff felt uncomfortable around Silva, they could not deny her ability to heal the sick and wounded.
Shrugging, Alec continued onward until he reached the throne room. There, he found his father in his chair, looking more stressed than usual. Alec continued into the room and stopped mid-step when he noticed a woman standing near the throne. The woman was engulfed in a dark red cloak, her head giving any hint that a figure was underneath the large cloth. She had auburn hair and piercing green eyes that targeted Alec as he walked closer. He had to take a second look, for he swore she looked like Silva except older with darker hair. The woman did a quick bow to Alec as he walked up. Her figure remained hidden in her cloak.
"Hello, your majesty." The woman said quickly, her sharp green eyes never leaving Alec. He gave a curt nod to the woman in response and looked to his father.
"Who is this?" Alec asked.
"Someone who wants to give us a message about a certain healer you hired. Where is she now?" The king said, his tired eyes staring into his son's.
"Not here, she was not in her room when I walked past." The woman harrumphed, drawing the royals' attention.
"Typical," the woman said.
"Why do you mean?" The king prompted and the woman cocked her head at him.
"Silva, the so-called healer you hired, is not to be trusted. She is a user of the Dark Arts, sneaky and manipulative sorcerers. They will tear your kingdom apart."
User of the Dark Arts? Alec thought to himself. He didn't think Silva would use dark magic, not that he has seen anyways.
"But she saved me," Alec countered. "I was near death."
"A trick is more likely." The woman sniffed. "Trust me, they are both very dangerous." The king snorted.
"I doubt a cat is dangerous," the king said, in which the woman cocked her head. "I do not trust magic as far as I can throw it, so that goes for the young lady and you. So why should I trust you?" The woman remained motionless.
"Believe me or not, I have been looking for her for years now, but I will not interfere. I only wish to give you a warning, and if you have any sense at all, you will return her to me." With that statement, the woman strolled out of the throne room.
