Chapter One

(Luna's POV)

I woke up with the sun shinning in my face like every other day. I know my house isn't much, but living in the tree house I built myself and knowing that it's safe is just an amazing feeling. I get up out of bed and go over to my bookcase. I wonder what's going on in the world right now. I pull out my book where I can see anything that's been broadcasted, and open it. A new page appears saying, "Government passes new law requiring all children from age 10 to 16 to go to a specialized school due to recent chaotic outbreaks!" Of course, I always forget to skip the obvious. Well better finish the article, then start packing for this new heck! I skim through the article for the necessary information. When i get everything I need from the article, I start to pack up my belongings. Sketch book, check. Books, check. Clothing, check. Snacks, check. Brewing stand and cauldron, check. Pencils, check. I continue checking through my stuff until I am confident I'm not missing anything. The sun had set by then so I took a quick jog then came back and slept.

➰(Time skip because nothing important happened overnight)➰

The sun once again woke me up. 'It is going to feel strange not waking up to the sun' I think to myself. I grab my bags, pull my hood over my head, double-checking that it covers my face, and start heading to the location given on the broadcast. All the way there thinking about how boring the classes would be. It's going to be boring not always getting a hands-on experience to learn. Oh well.

After about 4 hours of walking I reach the school/prison. There are groups of kids joking and laughing with one another. I can immediately pick out the royals, commoners, mis-fits, and other classes of people. This reminds me of the community I used to live in. No! Get that out of your head, the communities hate people like you. I just stand there for a little before walking towards the school. After a few minutes of standing and being anti-social a teacher comes out of the doors.

"Greetings, students. My name is Mr. Burnten. It is a pleasure to meet all you. Now, when I call your name please come up and get your bag. Each bag contains your schedule, room assignment, laptop, and schoolbooks. Before anyone asks, no the room assignments are not based on class. There will be royals with different classes, so no complaing. Alright. Christopher, Wolf, Kat, Emma." His voice just drones on, and I start blocking it out until I hear him say "Luna." I go up a grab my bag. I can feel people staring at me, their gazes burning me. I go back to where I was standing before, as his voice drones on with all the other students names and directions to the dorms before finally dismissing us. Everyone starts moving toward the dorms so I follow, reading my dorm assignment. When I come to my assigned dorm I look up and see a familiar face. No, way. Thank Notch they're still alive.
