Percy's Pov

It's been 10 years since we last saw our dad. I am now 16. Jack is 15 and Nico is 14.

"Hey mom?" I called from the kitchen.

"Yes honey?" She replied.

"Can me, Jack, and Nico go out?" I asked.

"Yes just be back by 8. You hear me Percy. 8'o clock sharp."

"Yes Ma'am." I said and marched out to get my brothers. I heard her laugh as I went on a search to find my younger brothers. I found Jack out side hanging upside down on the fire escape with his eyes closed and his hands behind his head as if he was taking a nap.

"Hey Jack. I'm going out. Wanna come?" Jack opened his eyes and looked at me.

"Sure Perce." Jack pulled himself up and climbed in through the window.

'This boy could be the next Spider-Man.' I thought, grinning.

"Let's get Nico." I said.

"I think he was in the living room with Paul." Jack said.

We walked to the living room to find Paul sitting on the couch watching the Mets game, Mets were winning by the way, but no Nico.

"Hey Paul." Jack said, "Do you know where Nico is?"

"Um....I think he said he was going to his room." Paul said looking away from the game, "He said he was going to hang out in there."

"Ok thanks." We said and walked to Nico's room. Well it's honestly all our room but Nico hangs out in there all the time by himself, so it could really be his room only. We walked in to see Nico laid on his bed. His feet were on the wall and his head hung off the bed. He was looking at the Myth-O-Magic cards me and Jack had gotten him for his birthday last year.

"Hey there Neeks." I said and laid down next to my youngest brother.

"Hey kiddo." Jack said messing up Nico's hair more and laid on the other side of Nico.

"Hey guys. What's up?" Nico asked still looking at his cards.

"Olympus." I replied.

"Oh, Haha." Nico said sarcastically, rolling his eyes.

"We're gonna go out now and we wanted to know if you wanted to come." Jack said.

"Yeah! I'll come."

"Alright then let's go!"

We all flipped off the bed and walked out of the apartment.

"Bye Mom! Bye Paul!" We called.

"Bye boys be back by 8 and stay safe!" They called back.

We walked out of the apartment.

"Race to the park?" Jack suggested.

"Your both gonna lose!!" I said.

"Ready?" I asked.

"Set." Jack said.

"GO!!" Nico yelled.

We all took off down the street careful to avoid hitting people.

I would like to say I won but I didn't. Nico came in 1st, then Jack, and finally me.

"Ha I win I win!" Nico said smiling and jumping around.

"Yeah yeah." We replied out of breath. Hm I wonder how it would be to race the Flash. Thinking of superheroes Jack could be the next Spider-Man, Nico could be the next Flash and I could be the next Captain America...Yeah. Anyways we walked down the path watching the people and dogs play but the entire time I felt as if someone was watching us.

We ran around chasing each other and talking with some of our mom and Paul's friends. Then we decided to walk down the path near the woods to see the fountain our mom loved to visit. She would always say that anywhere close to the water was like a second home to her.

"Uh Perce?" Nico said. He stopped walking and was now looking into the woods.

"Yeah Neeks what's up?"

"Do you see that guy standing in the woods watching us?" He asked.

"What guy?" Jack asked.

"That one." Nico said pointing but all I saw was darkness.

"Nico no ones there." Jack said.

"Nico are you ok? I don't see anyone." I said feeling my brothers forehead.

He swatted my hand away. "I'm not crazy Percy I see someone!"

"Let's go check it out." Jack suggested.

"Yeah... Let's go Jack. Nico wait here." I said.

"What?! No way! What's wrong with you guys?!?! First off your not leaving me here alone!! And secondly you don't just go into dark woods to confront a man you don't know and can't see!!" Nico yelled.

"All right all right geez calm down Nico." Jack said leaning back on a tree.

Nico took a deep sharp breath. "He's gone." He whispered.

"What?" I asked.

"Percy the man in GONE!" Nico repeated a bit louder.

"We have to get out of here. It's getting dark and Nico is kinda scaring me right now. Percy what time is it?"

"Uh...oh Shist! It's 7:56! We have to be home by 8 and there's a creepy dude stalking us!"

"I know what to do!" Jack said standing up on a rock, "We....."

"Guys he's back." Nico interrupted Jack. His eyes were wide and terrified.

We all looked in front of us and sure enough there was a guy standing there dressed all in black and had gold glowing eyes. He started walking toward us.

"We RUN!!" Jack yelled and jumped off the rock he was standing on. We all turned around and ran, but unfortunately for us the guy started running to.

"Split up." I said to Jack and Nico.

"Ok." Jack said. We all looked at Nico.

"Fine but meet back at home. Ok?"

"You got it Neeks."

We all split up. I went straight, Nico went right and Jack went left. The man stopped for a minute before bolting right.

"NICO!" I yelled and changed course. Jack apparently heard me yell and was running next to me in an instant.

"Go around. You take right I'll take left. We'll...-"

"We'll cut him off. Don't let him grab Nico. Got it!" Jack finished what I was about to say. We split up again, but this time to catch the guy or at least make him chase either me or Jack...mostly me though.

As I turned the corner I ran into someone. I fell back and landed on my butt.

"Hey! Watch were your going, boy!"

I looked up to see a girl, probably no older than 13 or 14.

"Sorry." I said and ran past her.

"Hey! Get back here!!" She ran after me but I was close to the guy. I saw Nico turn into a dark ally.

"Caught you now kid." The man said. His voice was deep and raspy, like he hasn't spoken in well forever.

"Can't catch what you can't see." Nico said. And with him that is true. Nico can blend into the shadows really well...that's how he always won our hide-n-seek games. And- Percy stop getting off track. Stupid ADHD.

"Yes but I can hear you...." The man replied then paused.

"I could be anywhere. You can't pin point exactly where I am." Nico's voice was echoing around the ally.

"And smell you." The strange man added.

"Uhhh..." Was Nico's intelligent response. I feel so proud!

Then the man was gone. I heard Nico yelp and suddenly he was thrown out of the shadows onto the floor. I went to help but he glared at me. I nodded and stayed where I was.

"And you said I couldn't catch you." The mans cold voice echoed around. Nico stood up and glared at the man who had walked out of the shadows.

I saw Jack on the rooftops looking down. I nodded my head and made some hand motions. He nodded and jumped onto the fire escape making a lot of noise.

"Hey Loser! Up here!" Jack said jumping around, "Bet you can't catch me too!"

In a flash the man grabbed Nico, tied his hands up behind his back, and threw him over his shoulder.

"What? HEY!! LET ME GO!!" Nico yelled.

He was half way up the fire escape and coming up fast. Jack yelped and stopped jumping. He jumped back onto the roof and started running across the top of the buildings. I followed them on the ground.

Jack jumped from building to building it kind of reminded me of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles show we watch every morning. I am definitely Leonardo, Nico is Raphael, and Jack is Michelangelo! And- wait I'm getting off track again. Stupid ADHD Brain!

I realized Jack had abandoned the buildings and was now running into the woods. We ran straight to the middle of the woods onto a frozen lake.

Me and Jack stopped at the edge of the lake but the man kept running with Nico.

"Help!" Nico yelled and squirmed around.

"LET OUR LITTLE BROTHER GO!!" We shouted and took off after the man AGAIN! Seriously what's with this dude?

At the middle of the lake the man suddenly dropped Nico and continued to run.

We ran forward but Nico snapped at us.

"The ice is cracking! GET BACK!"

"Nico you'll fall in!" I snapped back.

"Guys stop it." Jack said, "I'm going to come and get you."

"But-!"

"No buts Neeks." Jack slowly started to walk towards Nico who managed to stand up.

The ice began cracking more.

"J-Jack? I'm scared!" Nico said now terrified.

"Don't be...uh, we're going to play a game instead."

"A game?"

"Yes a game. Would I ever trick you?"

"Yes you would! You always do!"

"Haha yeah well not this time. Ok?"

"Jack!" I called, "What are you doing?!" He ignored me and looked Nico right in the eyes.

"Let's play hopscotch ok? It's as easy as one...Two....Woah haha....Three." Jack grabbed this weird stick that had a shepherds hook.

"Now your turn." Jack said.

"One..." Nico moved a little and the ice cracked more.

"Two..." He looked at me and Jack with fear in his eyes.

"It's ok Neeks." We said. He nodded.

"Three."

Jack reached out with his stick and grabbed Nico around his waist. Jack flung our little brother into my arms moving him away from the cracking ice. Nico sighed in relief. I took a piece of broken ice from the lake and cut the ropes around Nico's wrist.

"Thanks Percy." Nico said, "And...Jack? JACK!"

Jack had fallen into the lake.

"JACK!!" We shouted.

"Please don't die! Jack!" I said. I dropped to my knees and reached my arms into the ice water hoping to grab Jack.

"Ahh!" I yelled and instantly pulled my arms out. It. Was. FREEZING!!

I looked into the water, but Jack wasn't there.

"Where is he? Did he drown?!" I was panicking. What was mom gonna do? Paul? What about me and Nico? How-?

"Percy..." Nico said interrupting my thoughts. He was staring into the water, "Jacks dead Percy....He's dead..."

"What? How do you know?" I yelled at Nico.

"I-I don't know. I just do."

No! You're lying how can he be dead!! He can't!!"

"Well he isn't here is he Percy?! JACK'S GONE!! HE'S DEAD!!"

"NO HE'S NOT!!"

"YES HE IS!!"

"NO HE ISN'T AND IF HE WAS IT WOULD BE ALL YOUR FAULT!!!"

"MY FAULT?!"

"YES IF YOU DIDN'T GET YOURSELF CAUGHT THEN THE MAN WOULDN'T OF..... AND JACK WOULDN'T OF.....!!!" I broke down crying.

"Percy. I-I'm-"

"NO!" I yelled and glared at Nico. He flinched and shrank back.

"GET OUT OF MY LIFE!! I NEVER WANT TO SEE YOU AGAIN!!"

"But Percy!" Nico gasped.

"EVER!!"

Nico looked at me for a moment before turning and running into the darkest, deepest part of the woods crying. I watched him go and didn't call him back. When I couldn't see him anymore I looked back at the hole in the ice my brother fell in.

"Well done, Pursues."

"What?" I turned around and saw the man again, but this time I actually got a good look at him.

He was tall and had gray skin. His black hair was spiked and he had a black robe on. I knew this was the same guys because of his eyes. They were gold and looked as if they can see your deepest fear.

"My work here is done...for now. See you soon Son of Mischief."

He laughed and disappeared. What did I do?

"What have I done?" I asked myself, "I just lost both of my brothers....and it was all my fault."

It started snowing. I looked up at the moon and cried.

"NICO!" I cried out, "PLEASE COME BACK LITTLE BRO! I'M SO SORRY!! I DIDN'T MEAN ANYTHING I SAID! PLEASE NICO PLEASE COME BACK!!"

No Answer. I sat there crying in the snow.

"I'm so sorry..." I whispered. I got up and ran back home before I froze to death to tell my parents.

"What did I do...."
