Welcome

Loki's Pov

"Hello, Loki." Steve said

"Hello, Steve." I replied as I sat down next to him.

"I see Odin let you out of prison."

I scowled, "No."

"No? Then who let you out?" Steve asked as he shifted over closer to me.

"I let myself out."

Steve hummed in amusement.

"So what brought you here? To the tower, I mean?"

"Why so many questions tonight?" I asked.

Steve shrugged, "Just feeling extra curious tonight I suppose."

"I see." I responded, "Well I just decided to take a visit here after going to visit with my- with a friend of mine."

"A friend, huh?"

"Yes, a friend."

"Was she anything more at one time."

"Steve, I swear."

Steve laughed as I rolled my eyes.

"You're impossible."

"I like to think that I am quite possible."

I stood quiet and let that sentence sink in.

"I think you need to cut back on hanging out with Tony. He's a bad influence on you." I stated.

Steve hummed again, "I guess so."

We sat in silence for a while after that. It wasn't an awkward silence, rather a peaceful one. One I enjoyed.

Then he spoke again.

"Are you hungry?" He asked.

Food did sound pretty good right now, despite it being late. I haven't eaten actual food today, only some of Sally's blue cookies.

"Yes, I could eat."

"Come on then. We have some extra pizza in the fridge."

I followed Steve to the elevator. As the door shut in front of us one last cooling breeze made its way into the elevator.

I sighed and smiled.

"So where do you plan on staying?"

"I'm not entirely sure yet." I answered, honestly.

"Well, we do have a ton of guest rooms."

"Thanks for the offer, but I'm sure everyone else would not appreciate it."

Steve sighed, "You're right, but whether or not they do I'm the one inviting- no asking you to stay."

The elevator came to a stop and the doors opened. We walked to the kitchen. Steve told me to sit while he grabbed the pizza.

"I suppose, I could. It's not like I broke in this time."

"Good!" Steve smiled as he heated up the pizza.

Once it was done we ate. We talked about random nonsense and laughed at each other for hours. It wasn't until Steve yawned that I realized how late it had gotten.

"Oh, I'm sorry for keeping you up so late." I apologized.

"It's fine, Loki. I would've been up this late regardless. It's been hard sleeping lately."

"Why?"

"Nightmares. Always of the same thing, but I can never remeber what."

"I see."

"Well, we should get to bed."

"I suppose."

Together, me and Steve cleaned up the small mess we had made (and the living room because the others didn't believe in cleaning up after themselves) and went to bed. As we silently walked down the hallway to the rooms I felt a strong, familiar presence- two actually. I knew exactly who it was.

"Goodnight Loki."

"Goodnight Steve."

We each went into our separate rooms. I shut the door, locked it, and collapsed onto the bed.

Believe it or not, I was tired.

As I laid there I couldn't help but wonder if my son's would be happy to see me....or would they not remeber me at all.

Regardless, I was to tell them tomorrow. I laid in bed listening to the sounds all around me, before I fell asleep I smiled and looked at the wall.

"Goodnight, my son's."
