Children of the Gods
Steve's Pov
"How could you let them get away?!" Fury yelled, "Was it really hard to bring two teenagers here?!"
"We're sorry Fury." Natasha said.
"Sorry isn't going to bring those kids here Romanoff." Fury sighed, "Don't get comfortable. You'll be going out again now."
"Yes, sir." We all said as he walked out.
As soon as the door closed everyone let out a breath.
"Let's go check on Tony and Thor." Natahsa said standing up.
We all agreed and followed her to the living room where Tony and Thor were. They sat close to the fire place with blankets wrapped around them.
"How are you guys feeling?" I asked.
"J-Just per-fect." Tony said sarcastically.
"I feel fine!" Thor smiled.
"Good." I said.
"How did Fury react?" Tony asked, shivering.
"Ehhh...not well." Hawkeye said.
"We're heading back out now." I said.
"I'm coming with you!" Tony exclaimed standing up quickly.
"Tony, you should really stay here and-"
"Listen Cap, I'm coming whether you like it or not." Tony said, "Those kids are not getting away this time."
I sighed, "Alright."
Thor stood up as well.
"I'm coming along as well my friends." He said.
I nodded, "Be outside in 10 minutes."
The team nodded and split up to get ready to leave once more.
I walked over and took the elevator downstairs. Once it stopped I walked out of the tower. The streets where loud and busy as always, but it was relaxing to me. I smiled as I watched people go about their day. I was there for a few minutes before I heard someone call out to me. It didn't sound like anyone from my team or anyone that I knew.
I looked around. Nothing and no one struck me as odd or out of place. Until, I heard shouting and footsteps running toward me. I turned and was greeted with a giant rottweiler. He had sharp teeth that were covered in blood, eyes that glowed red, and sickly gray skin.
It lunged at me and knocked me off my feet. I held the head away from my face as it drooled and growled at me.
I heared the sound of a sword being unsheathed and swung. The dog yelped and tried to run away, but it didn't get far before a raven haired teen stabbed it. The dog howled in pain as it turned into a pile of gold dust.
"Ugh, what a drama queen." Nico said.
"Nice job Neeks!" Percy called as he walked up behind him.
It took me a moment to realize that these were the teens we were supposed to bring to Fury.
"How did it...why did it turn to gold dust?!" I asked suprised.
"It was monster." Percy shrugged.
"A Hellhound, to be exact." Nico said as he put his sword back into his sheath.
"What are you two doing here?" I asked.
"We decided to come and explain things." Percy said.
"Yeah, we decided." Nico rolled his eyes.
"Well, more like we were ordered to come and explain things." Percy said.
"By who?" I asked.
"We'll explain to everyone inside." Percy answered.
"Fine." I stood up and dusted myself off, "Let's go then."
The three of us walked inside and took the elevator up to the meeting room. When the elevator stopped we got out and walked into the room. The whole team was there talking. As soon as we stepped in the room fell silent. Then hell was released.
"ENOUGH!" Fury shouted. The room fell silent again as Fury walked in.
"What's going on here?!" He demanded.
"The kids." Tony pointed.
"I see." Fury forwned, "Who sent you both?"
"Our fathers." They responded.
"Who are your fathers?" Fury asked.
"Give them a minute, they'll be here." Percy said.
We gave them half an hour.
"So are they stuck in traffic or something?" Tony asked.
"Or something." Nico mumbled.
We gave them another five minutes, when nothing happened Fury ordered us to put the boys in a interrogation room.
As we led them down we noticed how dark the hallways got. The shadows in the corners seemed to be getting closer to Nico every time he walked by them, but he didn't seem to notice.
The air suddenly started to smell of the sea and the sound of waves crashing down on the rocks were heard.
"Uh, Tony? Are you and Bruce working on a new project?" Natasha asked.
Tony frowned, "No."
"Tony? What's that?" Clint asked pointing to something walking slowly towards us.
"I-I don't know..." Tony said, "That's not any of my suits."
"Bruce..." I said.
"I have nothing to do with that." He answered.
"My friends I believe they are skeletons." Thor said walking a little closer.
"Skeletons? Thor, are you crazy?" Natasha asked.
Sure enough, when they got to the lightest part of the dark hallway, we were face to face with two skeletons. One was short and the other was tall, both wore old ripped tunics.
"Oh what the fuck!" Tony yelled. The whole team and Percy backed up a little. The skeletons walked up to Nico and looked him in the eyes.
"Master Nico!" The skeletons bowed.
"Huh?" We all said.
Percy chuckled, "Just listen."
"We have a message from both Lord Hades and Lord Poseidon." They spoke.
"What's the message?" Nico asked.
"The Gods can't come until tomorrow. Lord Zeus requested to see Lord Poseidon about the death of a few thousand mortals caused by his storm." The taller one said.
"Lord Hades is stressing out because the Underworld is once again getting backed up due to all the new souls." The shorter one said.
"I see." Nico frowned, "Well then tell them it's alright. We can handle it for now."
The skeletons nodded and looked at the Avengers.
"If any of you hurt our young Master, we will kill you and make your punishment beyond painful." They growled, "Understand?"
We all nodded.
"Thank you. You're both dismissed." Nico said.
They bowed once more, "Goodbye young Master."
With a wave of his hand both skeletons turned to dust and dissapeared. The lights came on and the shadows seemed to retreat along with the sound and smell of the sea.
"I don't know how I feel about this..." Tony was the first to speak up.
Nico and Percy shrugged.
"Let's just get to the living room and get this over with." I sighed. The others nodded in agreement.
We continued down the hall and finally made it to the living room.
"Have a seat." I said.
The boys walked in and sat down next to each other on the double seated black couch.
We sat down on the seats around and in front of the boys.
"So...what do you want to know?" Percy asked.
"Who sent you?" Natasha asked.
"We told you. Our father's did." Nico said.
"Who are your father's?" Tony asked.
"Do you know about the Greek Gods?" Percy asked.
"Not much." He replied.
"Well do you at least know about the Big Three?" Percy questioned.
"I do." I said.
"Name them." Nico said.
"Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades." I said.
"Bingo!" Percy said.
"So? What about them?" Clint asked.
"Sometimes the Gods come down from Olympus and have affairs with mortals." Percy exclaimed.
"Are you telling us that you two are the results of those affairs." Bruce asked.
"Yes." Nico said.
"You two are demigods!" Thor exclaimed, "The Son's of Poseidon and Hades!"
Percy nodded, "But...how did you know?"
"I remember now! The children on Asgard love hearing about your quests!"
"Quests?" Natasha questioned.
"They're nothing." Percy said quickly.
"Nothing? I would hardly call what you two have done nothing!" Thor said.
"Oh really? Well then, would you tell us of your quests?" Bruce asked.
Percy and Nico hesitated.
"You don't have to now." I said quickly, "Maybe another time."
Percy let out a breath while Nico smiled.
"Thank you." They said quietly. I nodded.
Tony must've sensed the awkward tension in the air and quickly stood up.
"Anyone hungry?" He asked, "How about I order some Pizza?"
The team nodded and let out a chorus of Yes.
"Percy? Nico? What about you two?" I asked.
"Yeah, I could eat." Percy smiled.
"No thanks." Nico said, "I'm not hungry."
I nodded and turned to Tony who was talking to Jarvis. He told him to order 6 large pizza's.
"Jarvis, order two plain, two pepperoni, and two Hawaiian pizza's."
"Right away, sir." Jarvis said.
We all sat down and talked until the pizza came. No one asked Percy or Nico anymore questions about their quests since it seems they didn't really want to talk about it.
We did, however, learn a few things about Percy, Nico, and their family.
They go to a camp called Camp Half-Blood, apparently their teacher there trained the greatest heros.
Percy has a girlfriend named Annabeth Chase. They've been dating for 316 years and Nico has a boyfriend named Will Solace. They've been dating for 314 years.
We thought they were joking until Percy explained to us that the Gods made them and their family at camp all immortal.
"Damn!" Clint exclaimed, "I can't believe you guys have kept the same partner for that long!"
"So...did you lose anything in those 314-316 years?" Tony smirked.
"Tony!" Natahsa smacked the back of his head.
"What it was just a question!" Tony defended, "Besides they're old enough to answer!"
"Tony you don't just ask a question like that." Bruce said, rolling his eyes.
"I don't get it." I frowned.
"Neither do I." Thor said.
Tony chuckled, "Basically I was asking if they had sex."
"Why?" I asked.
"Sir, the pizza is here." Jarvis said.
"I'll get it." Thor said standing up.
"Alright." Tony handed Thor some money and he left.
"Because he's a perv." Natasha mumbled.
"No, because 316 years of dating is a long time." Tony stated matter of factly.
"Well...Me and Annabeth have done it a few times." Percy said rubbing the back of his neck.
"See? That wasn't that hard." Tony grinned, "Nico?"
Nico looked up, "Uhm...we never did...anything."
"Ever?!" Tony asked.
A dark red blush highlighted Nico's pale face as he shook his head.
"Wow. Talk about self control." Clint said.
"Can we change the topic?"
Thor came back with the pizza and put it on the table. Natasha got some plates, cups, and soda and put it next to the boxes.
"So has it ever crossed your mind?" Tony asked opening the boxes of pizza and taking a slice of plain.
"I would rather not answer." Nico answered.
"Interesting." Tony said leaning back in his seat.
"W-Why are we even talking about this?" Nico asked and crossed his arms. We all started to lean forward and take a slice of pizza.
Tony shrugged, "I was just curious."
Nico shifted in his seat and scowled. Percy was grinning as he took a slice of pepperoni pizza.
"Are you hungry, Nico." Natasha asked.
"No." He answered.
"Are you tired?" Bruce asked.
Nico seemed to hesitate before nodding.
"Yeah, just a bit."
"Here follow me. I'll show you to the guest room."
Bruce and Nico got up and left the room.
"Does he ever eat?" I asked.
Percy sighed, "Not really."
"Why?" Clint asked.
"He never really gives a reason, just always says he's not hungry or he already ate." Percy frowned, "We know he's lying, but we never push him. We just let him be."
"Oh."
Silence fell over the room as everyone finished their food.
"It's pretty late." Natasha said breaking the silence, "We should all get some sleep."
"You're right. Come on Percy. I'll show you to the other guest room." I said. Percy nodded and followed me out.
"Does Nico freak you out?" Percy suddenly asked me.
"No, why?" I answered honestly, "Is he supposed to?"
"No, it's just sometimes Nico has a hard time fitting in. He tends to creep people out and he knows it. I ask because I don't want him to be uncomfortable. He's my little bro- uh cousin." Percy explained.
"I understand." I said, "I'm sure the team likes him. If they didn't, well, they would say something."
Percy smiled and we continued walking.
"Well, here's the room. Nico's is right next door." I said.
"Thank you." Percy said.
"You're welcome. My room is directly under yours, just in case you need anything. Goodnight Percy."
"Goodnight."
I watched the boy walk into his room before turning away and walking to the elevator. I stepped inside and pushed the roof button.
In a matter of seconds the doors opened and I was met with a cool breeze. I stepped out of the elevator and walked towards the edge of the building. I sat down and looked out at the city.
At night when the lights were all lit up and shinning brightly I come up here to think and relax. It's a beautiful scene.
All was quiet and peaceful until I heard the sound of footsteps behind me.
"I didn't think you came up here anymore." A voice said. The voice was soft and smooth.
I turned around and was met with the God of Mischief himself.
"Hello, Loki."
