Chapter 11: Bonding with Nico

When Bianca came, she told Nico something that made him pissed, but sad. When they came back, Nico sat as far away from a crestfallen Bianca. Fantasma ended up being the one who kept an eye on the young demigod.

Apollo got there and asked Thalia to drive the sun chariot in the form of a school bus. Nico again sat far away from Bianca with Fantasma sitting next to him. He looked sad, so Fantasma brought him into a small hug.

"What's wrong?" Fantasma looked at Nico.

"Bianca left me for the hunters." Nico's eyes watered. Fantasma frowned at this.

"I'm sorry, pal. I'm sure shell visit you, though."

"It's not the same!" eyes turned to them. Tears started to fall, causing Fantasma to sigh.

"I know that it's not the same." he tried his best to comfort the boy. Nico turned and started to cry into Fantasma's side. "It's ok."

"Did I do something?" Nico asked softly.

"No, you didn't."

"Then, why?"

"I don't know."

They stayed like that until the bus ride got bumpy. Fantasma tightened his grip on the younger boy so he wouldn't get hurt. He could hear apollo trying to advise Thalia on her driving, and seemed to be failing horribly. Some of the hunters gripped the seats like a lifeline. The satyr, Grover, had fallen into the isle, earning a laugh from Anamniseis.

'Not helping!' Fantasma thought to the voice.

Oh, come on, that was funny. Fantasma held back a groan. He wished that this bus ride would be over soon.

🌫🌫🌫

'This is not what I meant!'

They were in collision course to the iced-over body of water. Why was the daughter of Zeus so bad at driving the sun chariot!?

Nico held onto the son of Order for dear life.

When they finally landed, water filled the steps leading out. When he saw this, he stopped. Water was the last thing he wanted to see right now.

"What? Is the ghost boy afraid of a little water." Jack mocked

No, but we don't need that damn god here right now. Anamniseis spoke the annoyance clear in his voice.

Fantasma bent down and touched the floor.

"Modeling." his hand glowed, the light spreading to the floor. Jack was about to say something but was cut off as the floor of the bus extended to land, making a bridge. He walked across.

"Close your mouth. You'll catch flies." Anamniseis spoke through Fantasma, which shocked them both, but they didn't show it. Had they looked back, they would have seen the hunters from ancient Greece had wide eyes at what he did. They had only seen one other person able to go that.

The ones still on the bus happily used the bridge. A centaur galloped to them as Fantasma bent back down to rid the bridge.

"Modeling." it went back to how it was before. Like with the eldest hunters, the centaur's eyes widened, but Fantasma didn't see it. When he stood, Nico rambled about how cool that was, making Fantasma rub the back of his neck sheepishly.

Fantasma turned to the centaur.

'Who is that? They look familiar.' he thought.

One second. The voice paused as a small headache formed. That's Chiron, trainer of heroes. As for why he looks familiar, I've got no idea.

By the time Fantasma zoned back in, Chiron was in front of him. Knowing the centaur deserved his respect, Fantasma bowed to him.

"It's an honor to meet you, Chiron, trainer of heroes," he said.

"Rise child, there is no need for you to bow," Chiron said. Fantasma stood nodding. Not many can say they met the best teacher since Ancient Greece after all.
