... Yet Stronger

The guy finally wakes up. It only took him way to long. "Finally!" I exclaim, "let's go!"

I see two corpses. The corpses of gods. "Did you..."

"Yes," Anna interrupts before I finish, "and I've been training. I'm stronger now, but I need to be stronger than even this. We have to reach the forge."

"Got it," I reply, "let's go."

We begin towards the Soul Forge. The world is so cold, so dim. I decide to start a conversation, just to focus on something else. "So," I ask, "who were you, before all this?"

"My mother was a masked mortal," Anna explains, "she fought The Kin's husks until her last breath, and blocked the door to my room to protect me. If not for her sacrifice, I'd be dead. What about you?"

I suddenly have another vision. I see the moon god. He stabs the sun god. I feel both the joy of victory, and the pain of death at the same time. How is that possible? I am so confused.

My vision ends. "Another vision?" Anna asks.

"Yeah," I reply.

"What'd you see?"

"I witnessed the moon god kill the sun god, but when it happened, I felt victory and death at the same time. Almost... as if I was both?"

"What the hell does that mean?"

"I don't know, but it must mean something."

"Well, here's the best place to figure it out. Here we are! The Soul Forge!"

The Soul Forge, a massive structure with strong wards and fortifications stands before us. It still looks pristine, beautiful, safe. However, around twenty husks block the entrance, along with the husks of the goddesses of unity...
