Train Hard for Harder Foes

"So," I ask, "the Moon God kept part of the Sun's God's soul, fought The Kin, got shattered, jumped into the forge, left you that box, and became you?"

"That's about right," I reply.

"Damn Twilight," I reply, "that's a lot to take in."

"And I'm also both a vampire and a werewolf," he adds, running his hands through his short, silver air and over his magically-tanned face with blue eyes. He's about six inches shorter than me actually, which isn't surprising considering the... let's say procedure he went through. Must be a side effect.

"We gonna have to worry about that?" I ask.

"With the sun in a half-dead state?" Twilight chuckles, "no. Anyways, we need to think of a new plan, we're safe here, but we can't just stay here until we die of old age, because then our souls are just theirs for the taking."

"I concur," I reply, "so we go out after taking some supplies, and beat the ever-living shit outta them!"

"Whoa, slow down," I do the arms out gesture, "I fought this thing and its minions, we aren't string enough. I remember that now, even the mightiest of the gods fell before The Kin. We need to defeat it with wit, not force, or we could train, because to be honest, I don't think we can really outsmart it either. It's very wise too. When it arrived, it knew to kill gods first for the best minions."

"I've waited to long to lose this," Anna glares taking a boxer's stance, "I'm going to finish what I started, with or without your help."

"You're not ready Anna," I reply, "and you know it."

"Try me," I demand.

"No," he replies, "because you're my only friend. No, you're more than that. You're..."

"I'm what?" I ask, "if you have a crush on me, I'm gonna tell you right now that I'm not into you like that."

"No," he sighs, "you're like family to me Anna, you're all I have. I can't lose the only one I have left. Do you understand?"

"Alright," I sigh, "fine. We'll do it your way."

"Thanks,"  he smiles, "now, you're strong, I grant you, but you're slow. You need to learn to dodge. I'm going to attack you with a lesser bolt of sun magic and you're gonna try to avoid it. OK?"

"Sounds good," I reply.

He summons a weak bolt of sun magic, just strong enough to sting without causing major injuries and throws it at me...
