Chapter 27 ~ Even Greater Warriors
Uhhhhh
I got nothing tbh.
K bye

"Damen?" I asked.
"In the flesh." He spread his arms.
"You're one of them?" Infinity asked.
"He has been for a while." Rein finally got up from the chair.
"Damen my boy." Yuri quickly walked up the stairs. "How much did you get today?"
"Ty counted it up to 98 nuggets, minus what Marcus and I get, which rounds it to 78 nugs for the rebels."
"Excellent. Well done." Yuri patted him on the back.
"You do the fights so you can get money for the rebels." I realized. "That's..."
"Stupid?" Scarlet suggested.
"Heroic?" Damen grinned.
"Awesome. That's dedication right there."
Gordon had his hand raised for a while, and put it down when we all looked at him. "Is Marcus here too?"
"He comes and goes. He's almost like our little spy."
"And the other two at the fight?"
"Lily and Ty? They don't know anything about this." He chuckled. "It was a good thing they're bored most of the day, otherwise they'd want pay for helping us."
"Speaking of pay..." Yuri held his hand out.
"Already in your office."
"This is why he's my favorite out of all of you." Yuri gestured to his group.
"I'm wounded." Jazz clutched his stomach.
"And we should care why?" Elly said to Yuri.
"Cause I'm the leader."
"Birch." Rein exclaimed. "No one agreed to that!"
"I'm the eldest, so I'm automatically leader."
"Just cause you have wrinkles doesn't mean you get to boss us around." Scarlet leaned against the side of the stairs.
"Roast!" Skye raised his hand for a high five, but she didn't take it.
"I like this girl." Infinity held out her fist, and Scarlet fist bumped her, leaving Skye staring in awe.
"I'm also the wisest." Yuri said slowly, sounding annoyed. "How many of you know how to build this machinery? To operate an entire base?"
Jake raised his hand. "I know how to operate a base."
"Wait seriously? You're like 13."
"16." Jake corrected him. "And yes. I own an army base with around 200 members. And it's in pretty good shape, if I do say so myself."
(Lmao sure okay Jake)
"Well..." Yuri growled. "Why are we even talking about this? We need to discuss a plan."
"We are." Jazz said casually. "A plan to dethrone you."
He groaned. "Why do I even bother with you children."
"I'm curious to know what kind of plan we are going to have." I raised my hand slightly.
"Thank you." Yuri pointed to me. He started to pace slowly. "Now—" he stopped and turned to Damen. "Can you go down there so I could have my moment?"
"Oh yeah sure mate." Damen walked down the stairs and made his way over. He stopped right next to me, giving me a smile. I smiled back.
"Now, we have planned on sending people out for important missions—" he turned to Jake. "— not just to rob and 'act like criminals'. We never could do big missions, since we didn't have a lot of members."
"Dude we have like 30." Ash remarked.
"Hush! But now we have your talented group here."
Scarlet snickered.
"I said hush! So now, we will train you. We will help you express your greatest abilities and use them. We will turn you into great warriors."
"What if we're already great warriors?" Skye asked with a sly smirk.
"Then we will make you into even greater warriors!" Yuri stopped pacing. He looked at everyone individually. "Now my comrades, are you ready?"

"Here are your rooms." Damen spread his arms out to the hallway before us. It was just a simple 3 by 3 stone tunnel. Torches lit the wall until the end, about 50 blocks away. Oak doors were spread out with 10 blocks between each one.
"Urrrrgh." Gordon groaned.
We were all exhausted. Even though we just got here a few hours ago, they decided to make us work already.
We had dinner in the cafeteria after our little meeting in the lab. The cafeteria was just a 50 by 50 area with tables and a food line. It reminded me of Jake's army base, which made me feel slightly homesick (it's funny though, considering I wasn't even there for long). It wasn't a big meal or anything compared to what we've had at the hotel, but still enough.
Afterward, we were lead to the training room. It was a giant 60 by 60 room with stone brick walls and torches everywhere. Hay dummies were spread out in one area, and targets for projectiles in another. Two guys were in a fighting arena, dodging and punching. There was a slight terrain made of pillars, hills and trenches.
We were supposed to be teamed up with guides to "observe and try out" some stuff. Some guides even had to have two people cause there were a lot of us. However, our guides got a little too excited to bully us around. I was paired up with Scarlet because, as Jazz put it: "she's the roughest. Kat can handle her."
Scarlet took the opportunity to make me run 15 laps, did an hour of hacking away at dummies (with a stick), purposely avoided the target range since I was good at that, and spent the rest of the time practically beating me up in the ring. I can officially confirm that she hates me.
I didn't really look at what the others were doing, but at one point I saw Jazz beat up Gordon in the arena, so that was fun. Gordon was probably feeling the worst out of all of us.
Now Damen was escorting us to our rooms.
Damen laughed. "Yeah, they weren't really supposed to work you guys. Kat, I can see that Scar really doesn't like you."
"Yeah." I rubbed my arm. "Wonder why."
"She's probably jealous, since you're you." Damen said.
Before I could ask why, he stopped at a door. "Someone can go here, and across the hall."
"I'm out." Gordon opened the door and walked inside. He shut the door behind him.
"I'll go across." Abby said. "Goodnight everyone." She went into the room.
"Infinity, we took Gabriel into that room about half an hour ago, so that's yours." He gestured to the door.
"I'm forced to be Gordon's neighbor." Infinity sighed, then shut the door.
"I'll be next to her." Mastermind walked across the hall and went inside his room.
"We'll take these rooms." Skye said about the next rooms. Jona nodded, and he and Skye went to their rooms.
"Guess that leaves us two." Jake said to me.
However, we both frowned when we saw only one door without a sign on it. The one across had a sign with Scarlet's name on it, and the rest in the hall were taken.
"Ooo, right I forgot." Damen winced. "This is the end. Only one of you can come here. The other has to go to the end."
"I'm not so sure—" Jake started.
"It's fine." I said. "I'll go to the end. You can stay here."
"No I can stay he—" he was interrupted again.
"Kat should stay here. She's taken a lot of damage. Shouldn't walk a lot."
"I was just about to—"
"You're right." I nodded.
"That was my id—"
"Goodnight Jake." I smiled at him and Damen. "Goodnight Damen. Thanks for guiding us."
"Any time." He winked at me.
I opened my door, and shut it behind me. The room was dark, but there was a lever. I flicked it, and a glowstone light turned on. The room was 8 by 8, with a single bed, a chest, table with two chairs, and three bookshelves. I walked over to the bookshelves, and looked at some of the titles. Enderman And Juliet, most of the Harry Blocker books, The Fault in Our Mines, Lord Of The Skies, Pigman Jackson and the Mutant Mobs, and more (such cringey attempts).
"Guess this is home now." I whispered to myself. I slid down the door and crossed my arms on my knees, resting my chin on my forearms.
I thought about everything. It really didn't feel like we spent about a week in Bladville. So much had happened. And whether we'd be here for much longer, I didn't know. But we were going to do something drastic, I was sure of it. You can't free a city by just asking nicely. I mean, I don't know if anyone had ever tried it before, but we were most likely wanted by now, so it wasn't an option.
I didn't know if we planned on using violence. If we planned on being passive or aggressive. I refused to end innocent lives, so no killing for me. And if we injured people, they'd hate us even more. So why would we need to train to fight? That room wasn't being used for farming. It was obvious the rebels expected retaliation.
"I know I'm supposed to be a hero." I whispered even more silently. "I'm supposed to be the chosen one of the prophecy. But I don't know if I can do what everyone expects me to do." I looked up. "I don't know if you can hear me Notch, but if you can, I'll try my best to do what you want me to."
I stopped, realizing I was sitting on the floor when I had a perfectly good bed right next to me. I got up, turned off the light, and went into my bed. It wasn't as comfy as some others that I've been in, but it gets the job done.
"I'll try my best." I repeated what I had said before. "But I can't make any promises."
