Chapter 21 ~ LANGUAGE, GABRIEL
Hallo.

Here is a person named Jake:
Okee buh bye.

I was exhausted. I did sleep last night, but it felt like I didn't slept in a week. I felt terrible.
I took a deep breath and looked up. The roof of the glass elevator wasn't actually glass, so I was just staring at quartz.
"Don't tell me you're developing a fear of heights." I heard Jake talk to me.
"No, I'm good." I replied, my eyes not leaving the ceiling. "Just nervous. This is the meeting."
"Yeah. Yeah it is..." He almost whispered.
The elevator stopped and my body swayed with the motion. We all walked out right after the doors opened. No one was waiting for us. I guess they assumed we didn't need a chaperone.
We started to head down the hallway, all knowing where to go without even thinking about it.
The big double door entrance loomed in front of us. We just stared at it, knowing what would await us on the other side.
"This is it, guys." I said to everyone. "No matter what happens, just know that we did our best."
"Of course." Abby shook my shoulder playfully.
Infinity added, "But of course, we are going to win this."
"Of course." Skye assured.
"But mathematically there is a possibility of—" Mastermind started, but Jake elbowed him.
"Chill dude. Have some faith."
"Yeah, man." Jona said.
We all looked at Gordon who was scratching his face. "What? Oh. Oh yeah, we got this."
I could still tell we were all worried. I could barely think of what would happen if Bladville chose Herobrine. We'd have to tell Notch and the council of Notch City that we failed. And Herobrine's chances of winning would increase dramatically.
I took a deep breath, and pushed the doors open.
The whole room seemed to have been whispering away until they heard the creak of the door. All of the council members immediately stopped and faced me. Only me because I was the one with my face peeking through the door.
"Thank you for join us." Ivan said coldly.
"Yes, thank you." Jane said, more genuine.
Shane just winked at me, and the other two were stiff as statues.
I glanced around. The only different thing from before was a policeman on either side of the doors.
I heard a cough behind me, and opened the door wider. I walked to the center of the room, with everyone following behind me. We all lined up in a straight line, me being the first to introduce myself.
"In case you weren't aware." I started. "I'm Kat, chosen one, all that stuff."
"Jake, leader of Pali army base."
"Infinity, co-leader of Pali army base."
"Gordon, redstone genius-ish and destructive master."
"Abby, builder." She said quietly.
"Mastermind, apprentice of BajanCanadian."
"Skye, swordsman and owner of Skye's Swordfighting Skills."
"Jona, miner."
There was silence for a little bit. It was way too awkward. I would have said something weird or funny to break it, but I was practically paralyzed.
Finally, Ivan spoke. "I am sure everyone is aware of why you are here, but I will say it again. These teenage—" he said the word as if it was an insult, "—came to our city. As I do recall, you and the others on the train rode in on minecarts because your train was attacked?"
"Yes sir." I spoke loudly. "By General Enderman."
"Indeed. You came here to convince us to be your ally in the war, did you not?"
"Yes."
"Our other offer was by Herobrine himself, who is a powerful figure."
I wanted to blurt out that I was too (kind of), and so was Notch. But I kept quiet for the sake of not looking stupid.
"It was a very difficult decision to make, as both of your sides have advantages and disadvantages."
Come on. Get on with it.
"Nevertheless, one side did have more advantages." He hesitated, probably for a dramatic effect.
...
...
...
"And that side would be Herobrine. We could not risk anything."
My stomach dropped to my feet. My head felt dizzy. My mouth felt dry. I doubt I could have spoke if I tried. The room felt colder, as if Herobrine himself were in it. This couldn't be happening. It had to be a dream. We failed. Herobrine won. We were going to lose.
"Our apologies for coming all this way for nothing. We appreciate it." Jane added. She no longer looked warm or nice. No one did.
I took a step back to get a better stance. I felt like my knees were about to buckle.
"You have one week to leave this city." The other male main council member said. "After that, you are the enemy. We will consider you as hostile figures and will arrest you."
The enemy. Hostile figures. Arrest. The words swirled around my head, mocking me.
Ivan's signature icy voice broke my thoughts. "You are dismissed."
The opening of doors.
"Enjoy the rest of your time." Jane said.
I heard footsteps behind me.
"Come on, Kat." Jake said weakly.
A hand grabbed my arm. It was too rough to be Jake. I turned and saw one of the policemen.
"Let's go, miss." He guided me to the doors. I let him walk me there, my eyes on the floor.
I jerked his hand away when we were in the hall. He went back inside and the doors started to close.
I looked up at Jane at the other side of the room. She had a pokerface on. I made sure she saw the hurt and betrayal on my face. She tried to give me a smile, but it looked evil to me.
"Kat?"
All my friends were waiting. They all had looks of sadness and disappointment on their face. I couldn't help but think it was because of me.
I turned my gaze to the floor again and walked forward.
The doors shut.
And this time, I didn't even think about going back in there.

I quickly veered to the left so the stack of papers didn't fall. I could barely see where I was going, so I hoped I didn't end up in the Nether. I understood that in order to stay in this part of Notch City I needed to help the council, but this was ridiculous.
I jogged down the corridor. From the view on either side of the paper stack, I could see that I was at a fork. I halted before I hit the wall that was most likely in front of me. The papers swayed, threatening to collapse. I jutted my arms out, so the top smashed into my face, including my giant nose.
"Curse this nose." I muttered.
"Don't be mean to your nose." A voice said. The stack felt lighter as the person lifted half of it off.
"Thank you." I closed my eyes and sighed, relieved. I opened them again.
"You're welcome." Notch smiled.
My eyes widened. "Oh, Mr. Notch! Oh no you don't have to he—"
"Save it." Notch stopped me. He held up one hand, and balanced the small stack on one hand. Of course. He probably had super strength. "I'm merely another person. I can help too."
"O– okay." I nodded.
"And you don't need to call me Mr. Notch." He chuckled. "Notch is just fine."
"Yes Mr— I mean yes, Notch." I admit, he really did intimidate me. The powers he had, the things he could do.
"Where are these headed?" He asked me.
"To Adam's office."
"Let's go there then." He started walking. I quickly followed after him.
Along the way, he decided to make small talk. "So you are a blacksmith for your village?"
"I was, until the priest went crazy. Then I became the leader." I felt proud as I said it. Even though I kind of ditched them by being here longer.
"Congratulations." Notch said. "He was possessed, am I correct? Dabbled in darker magic?"
"Yeah." I confirmed. "Tried to destroy our village."
"You pushed him off the edge, and Katherine sacrificed herself." He winced. "Don't tell her I called her that."
"How'd you know?" I asked him.
He smiled. "Remember? I overlooked everything."
"Right." I recalled. "In that special dimension for gods."
"Exactly. In fact, the only bad thing about being back here is that I'm unable to check up on the group in Bladville." He sounded slightly annoyed.
"I wonder how they're doing." I said out loud.
"I have confidence in them." Notch said immediately.
I did too. I had no doubt that they'd win. Kat was a tough girl. She could do it.
"Notch." I said hesitantly. "Is it true, that Kat is—"
"Yes." He said sternly. From the tone, I could tell he didn't want to talk about it.
It felt like forever, but we reached Adam's office door.
"Here, careful," Notch carefully put his half back on my stack. "Don't want him to know I helped. I will see you soon, Charlie."
And with that, he vanished. Literally.
I sighed. He could've at least knocked on the door.
I kicked the door lightly with one of my feet. A few seconds later, Adam opened the door. He had an expression on that I couldn't read.
"Oh yes, Charlie. Come in, come in." He said slowly.
I walked into his office. It was circular, with Quartz and gold patterned walls. There was a yellow carpet in the middle, with a desk behind it. The back wall was completely covered in glass, so it was very bright even with the glowstone lamps. To the right was a clutter of tables and chests. To the left was a couch and two chairs.
A woman was on the couch. Hopefully she was Alesa, Adam's wife. In her arms was a baby boy, wrapped in a blanket and sound asleep.
"Aww." I smiled. "What's his name?"
She smiled back. "Mason. He's 9 months old."
"He's a beautiful baby." If Kat was here, she'd probably say something like, wait you have a heart? I admit, I miss her.
Adam cleared his throat. I turned my body so I could see him, and he was patting his desk.
"Right." I walked over and set down the papers. They swayed, and the two of us both readied our arms in case of the fall. But it straightened out.
"Thank you." He grabbed a few of the top papers and rifles through them. "Let's see, base update, update, update (my readers tbh), bill for train wreck, update—"
I interrupted him. "Wait what?"
He frowned and looked through them again. Then, his eyebrows furrowed.
"Train wreck?" Alesa asked behind us.
Adam said nothing, his eyes skimming the paper. His mouth opened slightly, and he walked swiftly to the door.
"Apparently Kat's train was attacked by endermen." He said quickly, reaching for the door handle. "I need to know if Notch knows th—"
He was cut off by the door opening, slamming into his face. He stumbled back trying to regain his balance, but he fell on his rear.
"Adam!" Everyone cried, including Jerome, who was at the door. Baby Mason started crying from all the noise.
"Are you okay dood?!" Jerome grabbed his hand and pulled him up. Adam's hand was covering most of his face, but he took it off when he heard Mason.
"No no no, don't cry." Adam leapt toward Mason. "Daddy's fine, daddy's fine. See?" He grinned at the baby boy, who slowly began to stop wailing.
The budder loving council member sighed in relief and turned to Jerome. "What is it?"
"I'm sorry dood, I didn't know you were right there." Jerome apologized quickly.
"It's fine." Adam shook his head. "Is this urgent?"
"Uh..." Jerome scratched his beard. "Yeah. Yeah, it is."
"What is it?"
He bit his lip. "I'd better just show you."

Okay chat time. Let's go through what happened this chapter. So Bladville picked Herobrine. Was it surprising? And I thought Jane convinced Ivan not to? Actually, they never said which side they were going to choose. So Ivan wanted to trust the kids.
But like what now? Herobrine can practically walk through the streets of Bladeville— sorry, Bladville, now. What will the group do next?
In Gabriel's PoV, we find out a lot of interesting things. I'll have you think on it.
And in that last PoV, I decided to add in Adam's family. I always planned on doing it, but I finally had the opportunity. So I can check that off of the list of cool things I planned to do.
Also, what was Jerome talking about :0
Question: what is your favorite type of (Minecraft) wood?
Rock on, my little rebels.
