Chapter 12 ~ Ouch, My Feelies!

Lel just kidding. It didn't take long at all.

But check this out:

This is what Elipticaly made for the contest: his character Mastermind. It's really good, so I am being nice and I shall award him third place, with a shoutout and showing his fan art. But since I'm even nicer, I'll allow him to ask a question about the book.

I hope you enjoy this chapter :) it was hard to write at first, but something at the end made me excited to finish it.

~ Abby's PoV ~

I was absolutely in love with the park. The rest of the city was eh. Buildings were cliche, no patterns, nothing special. It was like some amateur person built them all quickly without a care in the world. But the park was so beautiful. Birch and Oak trees were scattered around randomly, but even they had some kind of beautiful pattern. A river (about 10 blocks across) split the park in half, with two bridges to go over it. Since each end emptied into a pond, the river was still, so it was perfect to swim in. A fountain (I LOVE FOUNTAINS) was in the middle of the park, made of quartz and just looked spectacular. All different kinds of people were running around, playing, chatting, and more.

Fountain:

"This is amazing!" I did a 360 degree turn to take in everything. The city looked so boring compared to this place.

"Abby, are you going to cry?" Jona asked me.

I laughed. "No, tears would block the vision."

"Pretty cool." Kat nodded in approval.

"I love nature." Gordon said.

I raised my eyebrows. "I thought you liked to destroy stuff."

"That too. But this is a beautiful scenery, I couldn't possibly imagine destroying it."

Gods he was so cute. I just couldn't let him know that.

"Yo, I wanna go jump in that deep end pond over there!" Infinity started to run to one of the ending ponds.

"I'm coming too!" Kat ran after her, and Jake followed. Ugh, will those two just get together already?! Well, I can't really talk, with me and Gordon. But Kake is cute.

"Jona." Skye nudged him. "Check out that three legged race. We should enter!"

Jona and Skye went in the direction of a small dirt track, where a sign up booth was standing under a sign saying T⃣H⃣R⃣E⃣E⃣ L⃣E⃣G⃣G⃣E⃣D⃣ R⃣A⃣C⃣E⃣. I could guess that it was a three legged race.

Mastermind looked at Gordon and I, and chuckled. "I'll just go look at a tree. You two have your alone time."

I glared at his back as he walked away. Then, I turned to Gordon, who was grinning at me.

"Want to go look at the architectural designs on that bridge over there?" He asked me, trying to sound smart.

I admit, I was a bit surprised. He didn't say anything flirtatious or cheesy.

I smiled. "Sure."

We started walking (awfully close to each other) to the bridge, and stopped when we were at the center. I looked over the edge to see the pattern of stairs on the side. I suddenly realized that I could fall, I gripped the railing tighter.

"Don't worry." Gordon chuckled. He slid his hands next to mine on the railing. "I won't let you fall."

Smooth. Sigh. I ignored him and gazed at the rest of the park. If I was in charge, I would make certain areas light up at night, like the bridges, fountains, and hang lights between the trees. I'd also have a bigger playground for kids, with more slides and a little redstone pit. I really liked the idea of a regular pond to swim in, instead of a community pool. They still probably had one in the city somewhere. They had better.

"So, what did one creeper say to the other creeper?"

I gave a small sigh. "I don't know. What did it say?"

"'Are you feeling okay? Because you look a little green!'" He burst out laughing.

I raised an eyebrow. "I thought you were going to say, 'Why the sad face?'"

He looked to the side, thinking. "Abby... You are brilliant."

I grinned. "I know."

qUiT sHiPpInG us, guys! I can't go out with him. I just can't. You'll understand why later.

~ Kat's PoV ~

"CANNONBALL!"

I splashed  into the cool water, giggling underwater as the bubbles zoomed toward the surface. The water was almost crystal clear, so I was able to see that the sandy bottom was about 5 blocks from the surface.

Infinity and I were being annoying as usual, so she was at the other end of the pool splashing as well. Since she didn't have a small wooden dock at her end, she just splashed and kicked water in the shallow. Meanwhile, I was doing cannonballs.

I started to run out of air, so I swam to the surface. I broke the surface with a weird scream (pterodactyl screech).

"It's alive!!" Jake yelled from the dock.

I smirked at him and he smirked back.

"Sorry, you looked like a lake monster when you popped up."

"Ouch, my feelies!" I put my hand on my heart, using my other hand to try and stay afloat.

"Truth hurts." He mocked me, putting his hand on his heart as well. Gods he was so cute. I just couldn't let him know that.

KAT. ABBY ALREADY SAID THAT. JEEZ, QUIT TAKING HER SAYINGS.

"I'll just go back under since you're going to be so mean." I dived under the water again.

Wait. When I woke up, from about a month ago (wow, has it really been that long?! *counts* oh yeah, around 29 days. Dang), I was underwater. But I was breathing. For like a few minutes. Was that because Notch protected me, or was I really able to breathe underwater? See, this is a question I should have asked him when I had the chance!

But... I had an opportunity to find out for myself right now. It was risky, but I could probably handle rejection. Right?

I exhaled, the bubbles swirling to the top. Then, after hesitating for a few seconds, I closed my eyes and breathed in.

... Nothing. No water flying into my mouth. No water filling up my lungs. I... I still had air in my mouth. A little bubble. I was breathing. Underwater.

My feet hit something. The bottom. I didn't realize I was sinking.

I sat down, still breathing. What the nether?! What was happening?!

I heard a small splash, and someone grabbed my hand. I jerked my head and saw Jake yank me up and pull me up to the surface. He was... saving me?

We broke the surface, and he gasped for breath. I didn't know if I should tell him that that just happened, so I started to pretend to cough.

"Are... you nuts?!" He made out, swimming toward the dock with me still in tow.

"I was fine." I muttered.

He grabbed the wood, about to pull himself up when he looked at me bewilderedly. "You were under there for almost two minutes." He pulled himself up.

What??? Okay. That's weird.

... Maybe I shouldn't tell him. I really didn't want to freak him out even more.

"You, didn't see me come up for air?" I lied.

He gave me another look, and shook his head.

"I didn't see you either." Infinity walked to us.

I looked at the water, thinking of an excuse. "Well..."

"STOP!"

Great. I groaned. "What did we do now."

"STOP IN THE NAME OF THE LAW!"

I looked around, and so did Jake and Infinity, but saw no one running at us. I pulled myself up on the dock, and saw what was going on.

Three police officers were running on the road after a person wielding a duffle-bag. The person wore a black hoodie and black jeans, carried a dark gray duffle-bag, and was sprinting away. They ran past the hotel, with the police about 10 blocks behind them.

"What's happening?" Abby appeared next to us, with Gordon and Mastermind behind her. Jona and Skye were jogging over.

"I don't know." Jake said, watching the chase with everyone else.

"Should... we help?" I asked.

"Nah." Gordon shook his head. "I'm tired of getting involved in stuff.

"You kids!" One of the police officers broke off and ran toward us. I realized it was the same lady from when we met Damian.

"Do you know that person?" She yelled at us.

We all shook our heads, surprised and confused.

"Why would you think that?" I asked.

She exhaled. "They stole a lot of food from the local market, somehow undetected. We only discovered they robbed the stalls when they yelled, 'Down with Herobrine!' and left. Since y'all are against Herobrine, I assumed..."

"I have no idea who that is." I shook my head.

She huffed, and I could tell that we weren't very convincing. "Thank you for cooperating." She ran away.

I looked at everyone, confused. "So if individual people hate Herobrine, then they are automatically associated with each other?"

"I guess that's how everybody thinks here." Mastermind shrugged.

"This is going to take a lot of convincing." Infinity groaned. "All of Bladville wants to go with the mean dude's side."

"Except that person. And probably Jane." Abby reminded her.

"We got this." Skye said enthusiastically. "We can do this."

Jake added sternly, "We need to come up with some kind of plan. We have extra time now, too."

"What we need is food." I looked at the giant redstone clock on the side of a building. "It's almost six."

"It's seriously been that long?" Gordon exclaimed. He then looked down at his stomach. "Stomach, dude, why didn't you tell me?"

Mastermind calculated in his head. "We left the restaurant at about 2. It was a 30 minute walk here, so we spent about 3 and a half hours here."

Is it just me, or did time go by very fast?

"There's probably food at the hotel." Jona said.

"Food." I nodded.

Food.

I tend to end chapters right before people eat. I don't know why. It's not a big cliffhanger or climax, but it's just an easy way to end off the chapter I guess.

Who was that person? For those of you in my kik group chat, you probably know. So don't say anything, you weenies.

But what no one knows is why the person stole food 😱 Poor food.

Question: What's your favorite Minecraft potion?

Rock on, my little rebels.
