"Gray do not be so hard on yourself," Natsu says.

        "How do you know how she feels?  Have you ever asked her how she feels about you?"  Natsu asks.

"Well no, but how could she ever see me as anything more than a friend?"  Gray asks.

  Meanwhile, Juvia checks her mailbox and sees she got a response from Gray. She smiles and opens the envelope as soon as she gets inside.

    She reads the letter and blushes. She wonders why Gray wants her photo. She writes to him, sings as she does and prints off a picture to send to him.

Juvia seals the envelope, adds a stamp, and puts it in her mailbox with the flag up. She hopes he likes the photo and sends her a photo too.

   Girl, Gray is great, but he is not a crush.

He is kind, never talks about money and he must be brave.  At least I think so since he is a soldier.

Fine, I like him but there is no way he likes me.

     Juvia blushes when she thinks about great Gray is to her.  He hopes lucy is right and Gray likes her back.

    One week later, Gray gets Juvia's letter. He sighs as he opens it and thinks, I wish I could tell you how I feel. He reads it in silence.

   Dear Gray,

I hope things are alright with you.  May God keep you all safe while you are away.

How old are you?   When is your birthday?

You do not have to answer if you think it is too personal.  

Are you the type of guy who opens a car door for a girl, or do you let her open it yourself?

   You seem like quite the gentleman.

   In answer, to your questions, I have no siblings, but I do have a best friend named Lucy.  We are so close she is almost like the sister I never had. 

  Leon, keeps at it, he asks me out quite regularly.  I do not like him though.  I have turned him down more times than I can count.

   I have no interest in the men here.  How could I when they are all rude and think too highly of themselves.

   Gray, I want you to know I am thankful for our friendship.  I must be honest with you.  Your request for a picture makes me nervous as I feel it will make our relationship change somehow.

    Well, I sent a photo of me this time.  I hope you do not mind I am short for my age as I am twenty-seven.  I think you know by now my hair is curly and I am not sure how you feel about me.

   Lucy has the silliest ideas sometimes.  I admit most of the time she is right. 

    She thinks I have this huge crush on you. Now, wherever did she come up with such an idea?

It would be great to have your photo so  I can see if you are as handsome as I think you are to me. Over these past few months, I feel as if we have known each other our whole lives.

  Gray, perhaps Lucy is right.  I blush every time I hear from you,  I can not wait to tell Lucy about it and I wish I could meet you in person someday.

    I think I like you as more than a friend.  I know I must sound like a silly girl as there is no way someone like you could ever like someone like me.

 Gray finishes the letter from her and blushes big time. Natsu notices and asks,  "Gray why are you so red?"

"I am not.  I am just so happy," Gray answers.

"Oh, how so?"  Natsu asks.

"Juvia sent me her picture and she likes me.  It says so in her latest letter right here,"  Gray replies.

"Wow, that is great news, Congrats man!"  Natsu says. He thinks, Gray must be in love with her because he is always so happy to hear back from her.

   "Is she as pretty as you thought?"  Natsu asks.

" I do not know.  I have not looked at her photo yet," Gray says.

"Haha, why not?  You practically begged her for the photo, "Natsu remarks.

   Gray slowly pulls the photo of the envelope and blushes. He thinks, she is even prettier than I imagined.

  "I see you found the photo.  So is she pretty?"  Natsu remarks.

"Pretty does not begin to describe her.  She is beautiful," Gray answers.

"Sounds like you have it, bad man,"  Natsu says teasingly.

"What do you mean?" Gray asks with a blush across his face.

"It sounds like you love her." Natsu remarks.

"Yes, I love her!  I hope to meet her in person someday and swipe her off her feet," Gray says.

"Man, you are fortunate to have someone special who loves you,"  Natsu remarks.

"Do not get me wrong, my mother is nice but her health is bad.  Plus, it is not the same,"  Natsu says.

"Well, she does have a best friend named Lucy,"  gray says.

"Ok, that is cool man," Natsu says. He shakes his head and gets back to digging a trench.

    Juvia thinks, by now Gray has the letter. She thinks I wonder how he feels about me and will he send me a photo.

  Do you think Gray is ok?  I told him that I like him.

 If this fellow Gray is as great as you say, he is bound to like you too.
