Chapter 1

"Luna, come here!" Earth ordered. The terrestrial planet cat was following the pesky moon kitten around the house. The Moon might've been fast but her mother was faster. Catching her daughter, Earth playfully tickled her and purred, "It's time for your bath little missy!"

"She reminds me of you when you were that age. You always ran from bath time just so you could get tickled," the Sun remarked, strolling over. Her ears perking up, Earth meowed, "Really?" Chuckling softly, the star cat nuzzled his oldest daughter and replied, "Oh yes. Come to think of it, you and Luna have a great many things in common."

"Wow..." Earth murmured, gazing down at the Moon in wonder. She seemed to be lost in her own thoughts at the moment. Biting his lip, the Sun tapped her on the shoulder and rasped, "Didn't Luna need a bath?" Snapping back into reality, Earth trilled, "Right! Come on Luna!" Picking up the Moon by her scruff, she carried her adoptive daughter away. The Sun watched with a purr.

"See ya later Dad!" Saturn called, passing the Sun with Uranus by his side. Carrying two butterfly nets and the big bag of cookies from the kitchen, Uranus mewed, "We're gonna catch some star swirl butterflies at the park!" Snatching the cookies away from the ice giant planet cat, the Sun answered, "Alright, but you're not taking our entire supply of cookies."

"Aw man!"

"Foodaholic idiot," Jupiter grumbled through clenched teeth. He was heading out too, joined only by Neptune and Pluto. The latter was riding on his big brother's back. Seeing them, the Sun smiled and pointed out, "You three be careful out there. And Jupiter, keep-"

"Keep an eye on Pluto, I know," Jupiter finished the sentence. Pluto giggled happily and remarked, "I'm just a child." Chuckling softly, the Sun continued, "I was gonna say keep an eye on Neptune as well please. I can't find one of the small kitchen knives." Jupiter immediately glared at Neptune when he heard that news. The ice giant tried looking at literally anything else.

"Dad, I'm going shopping. Do you want me to drop you off at your destination or do you still plan on walking with five minutes left?" Venus asked, trotting down the stairs. Realizing what time it was, the Sun cried, "Is it really that time already?!" Laughing, Venus purred, "Come on, I'll hail a taxi for the both of us. Mars and Mercury are playing in the backyard so Earth won't be completely by herself with Luna."

"Luna!" Earth called from the bathroom. At that moment, the Moon sprinted past her grandfather and aunt, giggling like a maniac. Earth came racing after her a second later, accidentally running into the pair. The trio toppled over like dominoes. Climbing up onto the top of the pile of downed cats, the Moon let out a squeak of victory.
