Chapter 8

(Chapter by IlluminatiSistersXOX)

MICHAELA

"Wait, what is Bill doing here? I thought he was dead!" Nathan commented.

"Well, we are in the past, and...oh no, of course he's been stalking us! I should've known!" I groaned.

"Poison Ivy?" Bill's voice snarled. "Alive so soon? What a surprise! Even the Shadow Titan's shocked! Don't worry, I won't bother you, Poison Ivy- for now. I'll just let him follow you around instead."

I spun around and spotted the Shadow Titan approaching the group. "Ugh, not you again!" I yelled. "This time, you're going down!"

"Michaela, no!" Wisteria hollered.

I ignored her and summoned a few swords so I could pin the Shadow Titan to a tree. And it worked.

"Ha!" I boasted as I flew up to the Shadow Titan's face using my 3DMG gear. "Not so powerful now, are you, big guy?"

The Shadow Titan shut his eyes and roared at me.

"Yeesh, okay, I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings! Can't we just talk this out?" I apologized, taking out Dad's scarf and dangling it in front of the Shadow Titan.

"Tell me, do you recognize this?" I asked. "Have you ever seen anybody wear it?"

The Shadow Titan stared at me blankly.

"Nobody? Not even a grown man that you might also recognize?" I persisted. "You've probably seen him before. You know, ocean blue eyes, black hair, has a dark grey mustache, five-foot-eleven...ever seen him before?"

He didn't budge, and I'd had enough. "I'm talking about my father," I hissed with gritted teeth. "This is his scarf, and I know you've seen him before! Now whoever you are, come out and tell me what you did to him!"

The Shadow Titan shook me off of him and freed himself from the swords I used to trap him. "This isn't good," I said to myself.

Then, the Shadow Titan grabbed me by my cloak and threw me towards the nearest tree. "MICHAELA!" Nathan shouted.

After sitting up, I rubbed my head and croaked, "I'm okay...but he's going out of control!"

I pointed at the Shadow Titan and watched helplessly as he ran after my friends. "I have to help them," I thought.

"No way," another voice inside my head urged me. "Not in your weak condition. You'll get eaten alive for sure."

"But they're in danger!" The first voice argued.

I was so close to fainting, but I fought hard to stay awake. "What can I do to save them?" I asked myself as I noticed the Shadow Titan knocking Tiffany off of her horse, my vision beginning to blur.

Then, I glanced down at my right thumb, slightly opened my mouth, and blacked out.

MIA

"He's going out of control!" I warned the group as the Shadow Titan came after me, followed by a female titan with long white hair and hazel eyes. But the female titan wasn't coming after the group. Instead, she was coming after the Shadow Titan.

"The Celestial Titan?!" Stella exclaimed. "This is going to get interesting."

"How are you coming up with names for the abnormals so easily?" I asked Stella.

"They remind me of the Celestial Sorceress and the Shadow Warlock," Stella said, shrugging her shoulders.

"The who and the what?"

I moved out of the way as the Celestial Titan tackled the Shadow Titan to the ground, and their fists caught on fire. The Shadow Titan punched the Celestial Titan in the stomach with a flaming indigo fist, but the Celestial Titan didn't catch on fire. Instead, she growled and countered his attack with a fiery, lime-green punch to the face.

"Do you think they'll murder each other?" Henri whispered to me.

"We can't let them. We have to blind them and cut the titan-shifters out of there," I whispered back.

Henri nodded and went with me to cut the titan-shifters out of their titans, but it wasn't as easy as we hoped it would be. First, we had to get the two titans to stop wrestling each other, and after that had been accomplished, we had to blind them, and that wasn't a piece of cake, either.

Henri took care of cutting the Celestial Titan open, while I took care of cutting open the Shadow Titan. I grabbed the titan-shifter inside the Shadow Titan's neck and carried him back to the wagon that was with the rest of the group.

"Henri!" I said to Henri as we rode our horses back to the castle. "Who did the Celestial Titan end up being?"

"See for yourself," Henri replied, pointing at an unconscious Michaela Powers inside of the wagon. She was clutching her father's indigo scarf, and her right thumb looked like she had bitten it hard.

"Michaela? The Celestial Titan?" I gasped.

I hopped off of my horse and into the wagon before walking over to where the other titan-shifter was resting. "Now," I said to the unconscious Shadow Titan in his human form, "it's time to find out who you are when you're not the Sha-"

My voice trailed off when I rolled him over and took a good look at his face. "Oh no," I whispered to myself. "Michaela's not going to like this."

"What's the matter, Mia?" Meghan asked.

"M-Mia?" Michaela weakly asked. "Is everything alright?"

"I wish I could say yes," I replied, "but I can't."

"Why? What happened?" Henri inquired.

"Well," I hesitantly announced, "the good news is we discovered the human identity of the Shadow Titan."

Michaela perked up. "And the bad news?" She wondered with a cheerful smile that I knew would soon fade away.

I looked away from Michaela and mumbled, "The bad news is...it's Lucas."

"Lucas?!" Michaela repeated. "As in Lucas Powers? My father?"

I bit my lip and nodded.

"Mia, I don't like it when people lie to me, and I know we don't know each other that well, but I'm just warning you-"

"I'm not lying to you, Michaela! You can see for yourself if you don't believe me! The Shadow Titan in his human form is right over there!" I stammered.

Michaela crawled over to where the human form of the Shadow Titan was lying, and she took off his cloak to reveal her father, lying unconscious and dressed in the uniform of the Survey Corps.

"Daddy," she said to Lucas, "when you wake up, you have a lot of explaining to do."
