Nineteen
"You seem different, Alyarra. You seem almost scared of speaking in front of the Prince Aemond. Is all well between the both of you?" Cregan Stark would ask his sister Alyarra as soon as the both of them would exit the Great Hall into an empty corridor.
The questioning only made Alyarra's heart beat faster and stronger. Could she possibly confess? Could she do it? Could she end her relationship with Aemond? Alyarra felt stuck. No matter what she teied she couldn't move, she couldn't ask for help.
"Are you with child? Have you sired a bastard? Is that why you've rushed to get betrothed?" Cregan's tone fell to a low whisper, and he earned a gasp and then a cold slap from his sister. Cregan's face barely moved as her palm came in contact with his cheek. But it was the thought what counted.
"Fuck Alyarra. You haven't hit me in years." Cregan grunted to his sister as he rubbed his stinging cheek. Alyarra only glared at him.
"Well... you haven't been cunty in years, brother." She answered, earning a small laugh from her brother. Alyarra rolled her eyes as she crossed her arms over her chest, clearly annoyed with her older brother.
"I am not with child. It is offensive you would even think me capable of ruining myself." Alyarra said, with a salty tone rolling off her tongue. She was capable, she had come close many a times. But Cregan need not need know that.
"Well shit sorry. You two just seem off. Like there is some tension between the two of you." Cregan pointed out as Alyarra sighed. Well everything is fine, seldom for the part he is forcing me into a marriage I did not ask for.
"Everything is fine. I promise you. If anything were wrong I would certainly tell you Cregan." Alyarra answered. She was lying. For what reason? She wasn't sure.
Maybe she was weak. Maybe she was far too weak to go against Aemond. Maybe she had already fallen to his feet, and maybe she was too weak to get up.
"That is good to hear. I was worried there for a second." Cregan stated as Alyarra smiled weakly at the only man who could save her. And yet, she didn't speak. She lied.
Who was she kidding? She wanted Aemond. She knew he was the worst thing to happen to her, and yet he cladded her senses completely. It was intoxicating almost; The way she hated yet loved the way he made her feel. She tried as mcuh as she could to hate him, she did. Her mind wanted one thing, yet her body yearned for another.
"You know a few weeks ago I got another letter asking for your hand in marriage." Cregan said casually as Alyarra shrugged nonchalantly. Letters asking for her hand had always been the norm. The Starks were a good family.
"From whom?" Alyarra asked curiously.
"Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen... She offered for her eldest son, Jacaerys Velaryon, to court you. She said it would be a most beneficial pact for the North, as you would become Queen of The Seven Kingdoms in time." Cregan answered, making Alyarra's eye widen in shock at the revelation.
"Wow... I mean... I will never consider it though." Alyarra answered easily as Cregan shrugged. "I know. But just letting you know... There are better options than Aemond Targaryen. You need not rush into anything." Cregan said in a husky voice as Alyarra pressed her lips together.
Oh brother if only you knew. Alyarra thought to herself.
Alyarra knew she had a wide range of men she could choose out of. She was the only female Stark eligible to marry. She was the only way to secure an alliance for life with the North. But she cared little for all the potential marriages she could pick over Aemond. She hated him but she wanted none other than him.
The pair made their way back to the Great Hall and finished their dinner with the prince, mostly in complete silence.
After their dinner was over, Alyarra made sure to show Aemond the chambers he would be staying in and she left him there as he had told her he wished to read. Alyarra didn't mind, and so she left him to go roam her home.
She made her way to the outer courtyard as the hour grew late, and she smiled as she saw the knights training swords. The pack was obviously led by Cregan, as always. She was happy to see him training, it was a way to keep his mind off his deceased wife.
Alyarra watched them for quite some time, and after some sparrs the doors of the Great Keep opened to reveal Aemond. The prince seemed untouchable as he strutted to the weapons table, picking a rather old and wobbly looking sword up from the table.
Alyarra watched from the small balcony, her heart racing at the idea of Cregan and Aemond sparring each other. Cregan said something to the prince, seemingly making him smirk. The pair stood across from eachother, ready to go at it.
Cregan had grabbed on to an axe, his favorite weapon. Always giving him a clean chop whenever needed.
Alyarra awaited anxiously for one of them to make a move, and Cregan as always was the aggresive one swinging at the prince like a mad man. Alyarra gasped as she stood from her seat, her hands going to the railing of the balcony instantly. Her heart thudded in her chest as Cregan swung at Aemond with all of his might.
She was quickly impressed with Aemond's reflexes. He was quick to dodge and counterattack on her brother. Cregan was certainly caught off guard by the proficient swordsman Aemond was. Alyarra would gasp whenever one of them would come close to besting the other.
And she would yelp even louder when Aemond would dodge an attack, turning quickly on his feet and bringing his sword to Cregan's neck perfectly.
Cregan said something to the prince, nodding his head slightly in respect. Alyarra sighed in relief as she saw the move from her brother, it only showed that he had grown to respect the prince. Alyarra made her way down to the courtyard , approaching Aemond with a small smile on her face.
"Impressive." Alyarra stated simply as he gave her a cold and small smile. "I am glad you've found that impressive. I was taking it easy." Aemond stated cockily as Alyarra rolled her eyes gently. Sure he was. Clearly Cregan was better, Aemond was just quicker this time.
"I'm going back to my chambers. The hour is late, and the moon is almost in." Alyarra stated simply, turning away from Aemond and walking away from the courtyard.
Lady Alyarra Stark walked alone through the halls of the vast and lonely Great Keep. A rare ocurrence as she would usually be accompanied by Catherryn before the pair left for King's Landing. But now she walked alone through the dark corridors.
As Alyarra walked she could somehow feel a presence behind her. She would turn around a few times, only to find an empty hallway staring back at her. She would get goosegumps every now and then, and she felt relieved whenever she reached her old chambers. She locked the doors behind her and got ready for bed.
Alyarra would toss and turn all night, she felt eyes on her body as she tried falling asleep. It was a horrible sensation she felt. She felt watched, violated. But whenever she looked around in the darkness, there would be nothing there. Or no one. Alyarra felt like she was going insane, so she hastily got up from her bed.
The lady grabbed a fur coat from her dresser and exited her chambers as fast as she could. Maybe she was paranoid, but she felt watched in her own apartments. Which was terrifying.
She walked hurriedly to the apartments Aemond was staying in. Turning to see if anyone was following her every now and then. The girl knocked rather wildly on his door, a sense of doom choking her. Aemond opened the door with a worried expression on his face.
Alyarra breathed in relief as she felt his presence. He stood tall, towering over her as usual. His hair completely down and disheveled, as he had clearly been asleep. His chest was bare and only thin linen sleeping pants covered the lower parts of his body. Alyarra's breathing slowed down as she looked up at him, his one eye going over her with worry clear on his face. His sapphire eye was exposed, a sight she had yet gotten used to.
"Alyarra? Are you alright?" Aemond asked as he reached out to grab her shaky arms. "I-I-I'm sorry to bother... I am just... uneasy." Alyarra answered in a shaky tone, looking over her shoulder to see if anyone was standind there. Not one person could be seen in the hall.
Aemond noticed her looking over her shoulder and gently pulled her inside his chambers, closing the door shut behind them.
"Could you not sleep?" Aemond asked as he moved Alyarra gently to a cushioned seat. He was being so gentle.
"No... I felt uneasy in my own chambers... The chambers I grew up in. Is that not wild?" Alyarra asked sarcastically as Aemond pressed his lips together.
"You can always sleep with me." Aemond stated softly as he grabbed a loose strand of Alyarra's hair, tucking it behind her ear. "Thank you. I would never wish to intrude." Alyarra said kindly as Aemond smirked.
"Having you in my arms is hardly any intrusion." Aemond said softly, his slender fingers taking hold of her jaw lifting her face up to look her in the eyes. It was a soft touch, but it almost felt possessive in a sense.
"Are you mine?" Aemond asked with a very low and soft tone. The question was one Alyarra was not expecting to hear. She was taken by suprise by it, in every sense of the word. She stayed quiet, not knowing how to answer that question.
"Answer me." Aemond would ask, taking an angrier tone to his voice. Alyarra looked up at him through her lashes, her face as stoic as could be.
"Are you mine? Or will you try and leave me to go be with Jacaerys Velaryon?" Aemond said the name with clear disgust apparent on his face. He eavesdropped.
"Really Aemond? You listened in on a private conversation?!" Alyarra asked, standing up from her seat and closing the gap between the two. She stared at him in anger as he simply shrugged nonchalantly.
"Does that matter?" Aemond asked as Alyarra grunted at the zero respect he held for her privacy.
"It was private!" Alyarra exclaimed as Aemond eyed her.
"Who cares? Your brother clearly thought me unworthy of you so he offered you my cunty nephew. Which is a clear disrespect to myself, that is why I put him in his place." Aemond said simply as Alyarra's nostrils flared. Couldn't he just be normal for once! Not possessive?
The chambers were quick to turn into a warzone.
"He only cares about me! He did not mean any harm. You know maybe I should listen to him and go marry fucking Jacearys Velaryon." Alyarra spat as Aemond's face contorted into a furious one. She knew that would set him off like a cannon.
"You would never fucking dare." Aemond growled as he grabbed Alyarra's arms forcefully, his grip tight and hurtful. There was no way this wouldn't bruise her skin.
"Watch me." Alyarra smirked as Aemond's eye twitched in anger. His nephew would have her over his own dead fucking body. Aemond would sooner burn down Dragonstone into ash, than ever leave her to marry a bastard..
"I'll watch. And then I will kill each and every single living person in Dragonstone." Aemond's voice was as dark as it could ever be. Alyarra knew he was bluffing and angry. But something within her knew he could do it.
"I hate you." Alyarra stated, her eyes filled with rage and anger at the man she was supposed to marry. The statement only made Aemond smirk in amusement.
"But you can't stay away, can you?" Aemond smirked cockily as Alyarra took an angry and rageful breath.
Alyarra was the one to make the first move, she ended the warzone and commenced a paradise. Their bodies were soon tangled together, their clothes were shed. Their breaths and moans would fill the chambers as Aemond took what made Alyarra pure. What was his. Whispers of 'are you sure?' would be heard time and time again. Only for Alyarra to asure him.
"Never have I ever been more sure of anything." Alyarra would answer as they wrapped themselves in one. The night was filled with lust and passion. Want. Yearning. Desire.
This was not logical, nor rational. But when had they ever been logical or rational?
Alyarra Stark became Aemond's.
Aemond Targaryen became Alyarra's.
They were no longer themselves, they now belonged to the other. It was as simply as that. Alyarra didn't care if she fell from grace after this. Because she was falling for him, and falling for Aemond Targaryen was falling from grace.
Aemond was intoxicated with what he felt for the lady, but as he feasted on her body; He knew he felt emotions he had never before. It was terrifying, but so good.
Alyarra was blinded by her desire for Aemond, so much so that she had forgotten everything about him that made her angry. She had forgotten how toxic he could be, or how manipulative. She forgot how possessive he had grown over her, and how awful he had spoken of her. Alyarra was driven by her heart's desire.
So as Aemond Targaryen made sweet love to her, she knew. She knew she was done for.

There was no better feeling for Aemond Targaryen than waking up with Alyarra Stark tangled in his arms. It was all he ever needed. All he had hoped for. He had feelings he could not explain towards the girl... She had bewitched him entirely, mind and soul.
Aemond stared at Alyarra as she slept soundly cuddled into him. She understood his pain, his loneliness, his fears ever since she first met him. She had always shown kindness towards him. She did more to keep him sane and centered than anyone ever could just by being near him. In her arms he felt safe. A rarity for the young prince. Even when she yelled she hated him, she would still be perfect for him.
Nothing else mattered. She was everything.
Alyarra would wiggle a bit in her sleep before finally opening her eyes. She looked up at Aemond with rather tired eyes, and gave him a small smile. "Why are you staring at me like that?" Alyarra yawned as Aemond chuckled just a bit.
"Because I can." Aemond sassed her playfully as Alyarra pressed her lips together, trying to contain her smile.
"I love waking up next to you." Aemond whispered as he planted a soft kiss on Alyarra's head. If only he were always this amazing.
"I do too." Alyarra responded quietly. Her mind was a mess. An absolute mess.
"I should go get ready for Lady Arra's funeral... I have to sneak away into my apartments. If my brother sees..." Alyarra trailed off as Aemond nodded his head in understanding.
"Let me get dressed and I'll escort you." Aemond said as Alyarra nodded. He stood from the bed, making Alyarra blush profusely as she took in his naked body. It was a sight she would never get used to. He was just perfect.
Alyarra watched as he got dressed, her body filling with desire and lust. A desire to experience what she had the night before. Desire to have Aemond flood all of her senses again.
After he was done, Alyarra got dressed in her nightgown and put on the fur coat she had the night before. She walked alongside Aemond quietly and steadfastly, both of them with the mission to get her to her chambers before anyone could see her.
But Alyarra's heart froze in place as they reached her apartments. The doors were wide open, a maid was crying in the corridor with blood staining her clothes whilst other maids held her. Cregan was talking to his knights with a solemn expression on his face, and when he saw Alyarra he took a breath of relief. It was a lot to unpack.
What had happened in her chambers the night before whilst she was with Aemond?
